Lizzy Anjorin flaunts cheque of ₦10 million wedding gift she got from friends

Controversial Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin who recently got married, took to her Instagram page to show off the gift she got from her friends.

In the video posted online, one could see new wads of N500 notes. The actress was heard saying that the bundles of cash are her wedding gifts.

She also disclosed that she got two cheques totalling ₦10 million. She noted that each cheque note carries an amount of ₦5m.

Anjorin went on to state that she would be going on a four-day honeymoon as a result of the cheque she received. The entertainer then appreciated her friends who gave her the cash gifts.


According to her, while some women enjoy pulling down their fellow counterpart, others are busy spoiling their friends.

Actor Deyemi apologizes to Genevieve Nnaji for making jokes out of #WomenSupportingWomen Challenge

Actor Deyemi Okanlawon has apologized to Genevieve Nnaji after she slammed him for making jokes out of the #WomenSupportingWomen Challenge.

The WSW challenge requires women to post black and white photos of themselves and pledge to support their fellow women upon being nominated by another woman.

Sequel to the trending WSW Challenge, Deyemi and other male celebrities like Don Jazzy, Nosa Rex, Uti, etcetera dressed like women to take part in the challenge.

However, his post didn't go down well with the veteran Nollywood actress as she took to his comments section to call him to order.

Reacting to Deyemi's post, Genevieve accused him of making jokes out of the challenge.

Her comment read, "We seek solace in humour to distract us from pain or discomfort. Tell me what it is you feel exactly? You see, that feeling that triggered you to make a joke of a movement that can only be understood by those it was meant for; the feeling of being overlooked or disregarded is part of the point of the challenge. No one likes to feel invisible. You felt it for a second. Women feel it every day of their lives. Let us hold our own hands if we want to. Be ok with it. Not everything is about you or for laughs. Shalom."

Deyemi thsb responded by posting a black and white photo of Genevieve and he wrote…

"Dear big sis @genevievennaji… I know your heart and I stan forever! And to anyone else female/male who may have misconstrued the intent and felt bad, do know that I see you and I'm truly sorry you feel that way. In these times we need all the love, support and smiles we can get!"

BBNaija2020: Lucy reports all housemates to Biggie with tears

BBNaija's new head of house, Lucy did some drama in the diary room during a chat with Big Brother. She broke into tears during her diary session as she complains to Biggie about housemates not listening to her.

According to her, she feels her fellow housemates are making her job as the Head of House difficult and have refused to take her orders from her.

She also said she feels they have ganged up against her and thus pleaded with Biggie to come into the house and talk to them, maybe they would listen obey him.

Speaking on her emergence as the new head of house, she said she thought of herself as the last person to win such a challenge but feels good she won.

Yvonne Orji, Uzo Aduba & Jovan Adepo Nominated for 2020 Emmys

Yay! Three Hollywood actors of Nigerian descent, Yvonne Orji from "Insecure", Uzo Aduba from "Mrs. America" and Jovan Adepo from "Watchmen" got nominated for the Emmys 2020.

Uzo Aduba who is no stranger to the Emmys has been nominated three other times for her work on the Netflix's "Orange Is The New Black", of which she won twice. For Yvonne Orji and Jovan Adepo, this will be their first-ever Emmy nomination.

Netflix gathered a total of 180 nominations, followed by HBO with 107 nods, as new services like Disney+, Apple TV+ also made their mark.

Netflix's "Ozark" and HBO's "Succession" led the drama categories with 18 nominations each, while Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" dominated the comedy side with 20 nominations. However, HBO's "Watchmen" landed the most nominations of any series, securing 26 nominations.
 
Leslie Jones was joined by Laverne Cox, Josh Gad and Tatiana Maslany to announce the nominations. Final-round Emmy voting which begins August 21 and runs through August 31, leading into the Creative Arts ceremony which will be in some virtual form this year. Winners of this year's Primetime Emmy Awards will be unveiled September 20 live an ABC in a ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

The duo were spotted sipping drinks amid friends as they cheered, laughed out loud and had discussions. Although the video had no audible sound, they were all smiling and appeared to be having a good time.

BBNaija housemate, Dorathy Bachor has revealed that her father told her not to come back home after the Big Brother Naija show.

She is currently one of the most talked about housemate of the ongoing show.

Dorathy disclosed that her family warned her not to return back home after the show is over.

Pregnant Virgin: BBNaija’s Wathoni – I got pregnant as a virgin without penetrative sex

An old video where big brother Naija 2020 housemate, Wathoni Anyansi, narrated how she got pregnant as a virgin at the age of 23, has surfaced online.

In the video, which was filmed in April 2019, the mother of one, while featuring on LoloTalks, revealed that she had a romantic moment with her lover during which he rubbed his manhood on her vagina and he then ejaculated, even though he did not penetrate her.

Wathoni said after the incident, she missed her period the following month but did not take the development serious because she knew it was impossible to get pregnant as a virgin.

The now 29-year-old reality TV star, however, revealed that she discovered she was pregnant about five months later after undergoing some checks.

"I was a virgin till 23. That day, l was with the guy in question. At that time, l was ovulating but l didn't know so l was not bothered about it. He is a kind of guy that gets turned on by seeing a vagina. So, all he did was to rub his penis on my vagina and ejaculated. There was no penetration. That was it," she said.

"Then after five months, l found out that l was pregnant. Then l asked myself how it happened. I got to know that on a Sunday morning. I went to a nearby pharmacist earlier on a Saturday to complain that l belched too much among other issues. I also told him that I have not seen my period, then he asked me if l had sex and l replied no.

"So, he gave me something to do pregnancy test. I tried it out on Sunday morning and found out that I was pregnant. That was before l went to church."

Nengi has handed over the head of house title and executive room to Lucy as the new head of house for the 2nd week in the big brother house.

As the new head of house, Lucy gets to enjoy immunity from next week's eviction and the fully furnished head of house (HOH) room for the rest of the week.

The HOH challenge saw the housemates rolling a dice for a game of luck. Lucy, Ozo and Neo had a tie with the highest points and they had to roll a dice to decide.

Neo rolled 1, Ozo rolled 5 and Lucy rolled 6 which automatically made her the Head of House.

The former head of house, Nengi was not allowed to contest or be nominated as deputy as she won last week's challenge.

Biggie also told her that is given 20 minutes to choose her deputy who must be a member of the opposite gender.

Lucy is a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Lagos. Though she is a self-proclaimed simple girl and assures everyone that she is far from average. She believes in fairy tales, and hopefully, Biggie's House will deliver just that for her.

Toke Makinwa denies reports that her Banana Island home has been taken over by AMCON

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has debunked online reports claiming her Banana Island, Lagos home, has been repossessed by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON.

Yesterday, July 27, Nigerian Twitter went wild after some users of the app claimed that her "Ikoyi property" had been taken over by AMCON.

However, a statement released last night by her publicist, Andrea Manuela Giaccaglia, states that Toke is the sole owner of her Ikoyi property and that it has not been confiscated by AMCON.

The statement adds that legal action will be taken against the originators of the report that her house has been taken over by AMCON.

The statement reads;

"On behalf of Ms. Toke Makinwa, we would like to address the rumour circulating the internet that Ms. Toke Makinwa's alleged house in Banana Island was taken over by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Ms. Toke's is the sole owner of her residence in Ikoyi.

Our lawyers have been contacted and legal action will be taken against the originators of this story.

Chinese ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mr. Liu Xiaoming, has said Thursday that he regrets their relationship with the UK has run into a series of difficulties and added that the UK should take full responsibility for those difficulties.

"The UK has meddled in Hong Kong affairs and has undermined stability in Hong Kong," Xiaoming added. "London has poisoned the relationship. Some British politicians clamour for a new cold war with China."

Reality star Kim Kardashian reunited with her husband Kanye West on Monday July 27, after flying down to Wyoming for marriage crisis talks with the troubled rapper over his recent behavior on social media.

The celebrity couple were pictured together in a vehicle, having an intense conversation after leaving a Wendy's fast-food restaurant in Wyoming.

At one point, the reality star broke down in tears as she spoke with her husband for the first time in weeks following his political campaign rally and Twitter meltdown, where he disclosed how he encouraged her to abort their first child and revealed how he had been planning divorce to her over a meeting with rapper Meek Mill at a hotel for prison reform.


Kanye has since publicly apologized to Kim for 'going public' with their 'private matter.'

A source told PEOPLE that "as soon as Kim got to the ranch, she and Kanye came out together in his car."

"Kim is hysterically crying," the source says, adding that "Kim hasn't seen Kanye for weeks."

"She is very emotional about everything, and also exhausted," the source says. "She feels very hurt by Kanye. She has tried to reach him multiple times and he just ignores her. "

"It's all a bad situation," the source adds.

The pair who share four children North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, one, tied the knot in 2014.

Reacting to her assertion, billionaire businessman, Ned Nwoko expressed his shock at her statement as he declared that his action isn't intentional at all.

Man arrested for using USA’s Covid-19 loans to buy himself a new Lamborghini worth ₦123m

An American businessman, David T. Hines has been arrested after he diverted the $4 million (₦1.5billion) COVID-19 relief loans he got and bought an expensive Lamborghini Huracan Evo.

The loans approved by the Trump administration and Congress were meant for Hines' supposedly ailing South Florida moving business.

The Italian-made flashy car — purchased by Hines in May for $318,497 (₦123million) — was not on the list of permissible expenses under a Small Business Administration loan program meant to protect employees and cover other legitimate costs like rent during the coronavirus pandemic.

After being arrested over the weekend, it was gathered that he has also spent thousands of dollars on dating websites, jewelry and clothes, along with stays at high-end hotels such as the Fontainebleau and Setai on Miami Beach.

The SBA's Payroll Protection Program totalling nearly $650 billion was approved by Congress as part of the CARES Act after the coronavirus struck the nation in March.

Hines' and other similar fraud cases are starting to pop up in South Florida and other parts of the country.

The PPP loans are forgiven by the government if they are properly used by businesses.

Congress is considering another major SBA loan infusion as the raging pandemic continues to hurt the U.S. economy.

Federal investigators linked the Lamborghini to Hines, who appeared in Miami federal court on fraud and other charges Monday, after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident on July 11. Miami police impounded his car, and now prosecutors plan to seize it.

Hines, 29, held over the weekend at the Federal Detention Center, was granted a $100,000 bond by Magistrate Judge John O'Sullivan and will be allowed to stay at his mother's home with a GPS monitor.

His defence attorney, Chad Piotrowski, declined to comment after Monday's hearing.

Hines' arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 14.

According to a criminal complaint, Hines' four South Florida moving businesses applied for seven SBA loans totaling $13.5 million through the Bank of America, saying the money would be spent on at least 70 employees with a monthly payroll of $4 million.

The bank approved three of his applications, totalling $3,984,557.


The reality: Hines' companies, including Unified Relocation Solutions in Miami, showed monthly revenue and expenses averaging about $200,000 — "far less than the millions of dollars in payroll that Hines sought in the PPP applications," a criminal affidavit says.

"Those purported employees either did not exist or earned a fraction of what Hines claimed in his PPP applications," says the affidavit by U.S. Postal Inspector Bryan Masmela.

"Collectively, Hines falsely claimed his companies paid millions of dollars in payroll in the first quarter of 2020. State and bank records, however, show little to no payroll expense during this period."

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Berger said certain SBA loan scammers have been able to exploit the Payroll Protection Program because while the federal agency is guaranteeing the COVID-19 relief loans issued by banks for eligible small businesses, it is not bothering to check any of the claims in their applications.

"In the ordinary course of providing the loan guaranty, neither the SBA nor any other government agency checked IRS records to confirm that the applicant had paid the payroll taxes represented in the PPP applications," says the criminal affidavit.
