| Posted: 11 Sep 2020 12:00 AM PDT  Tamr Braxton's Nigerian boyfriend, David Adefeso, has filed for a restraining order against the former "The Real" host.According to TMZ, Adefeso filed a "domestic violence" restraining order against 43-year-old reality star at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 8. The details surrounding the restraining order have not been revealed yet.This comes weeks after Tamar posted a lengthy Instagram tribute to thank Adefeso for "saving her life" last month after she was hospitalized following a suicide attempt. | Brand terminates ambassadorial deal with Cubana Chief Priest over assault allegation Posted: 10 Sep 2020 10:30 PM PDT  Instagram big boy, Cubana Chief Priest has lost his ambassadorial deal with V Bank, few months after sealing deal.The legal officer of V Bank served Chief Priest the notice of termination letter on September 7, 2020. However, reason(s) for the termination of his deal wasn't obviously stated in the letter.  Meanwhile, speculations are rife that it could be as a result of the assault allegation against him. Recall it was earlier reported that the self acclaimed king of nightlife whose real name is Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, assaulted a woman at Cubana Owerri – his former club and fled.  Recall also that Cubana Chief Priest has parted ways with his boss and chairman of the popular Cubana Group, Obi Cubana. He took to his Instagram page to reveal that he has started his own night club in Imo state capital Owerri, where Cubana group also runs a night club. He called him a fatherless Somalian, and threatened to kill and arrest anyone who insults his father.Daddy Freeze, in his response, said he did not insult Oyedepo, rather, he criticized his message. | Lady falls to her death while posing for pictures on a date with her fiancé Posted: 10 Sep 2020 05:30 AM PDT  A 31-year-old lady, Dorcas Jepkemoi Chumba has died after she fell into a dam while on a date with her fiancé, Benjamin Kazungu, at Chepkiit Waterfalls in Nandi County, Kenya.According to reports, Chumba was swept away by raging waters on Sunday afternoon while Kazungu was using her phone to take pictures of her.It was gathered that Mr Kazungu tied fruitlessly to rescue her from the raging waters. Chumba's family has since requested the county government to help in retrieving the body of the deceased. "The tragedy indeed took place and we have come to accept that Chumba is no more. We are, however, requesting for help to retrieve the body and give her a befitting send-off," the deceased's brother Victor Kiptoo pleaded.  Image credit: Wharton Magazine - University of Pennsylvania | United States Government has revoked visas for 1,000 Chinese students and and researchers, siting security risk as reasons.According to a report by the BBC, the development is traced to a proclamation by President Donald Trump in May directed at Chinese nationals suspected of having ties to the military.The report added that it is linked to allegations of stolen data and intellectual property by some Chinese students and researchers.The BBC report also disclosed that about 370,000 students from China had enrolled at US universities in 2018-19 sessions.A spokeswoman from the US state department stated that those whose visas were revoked are deemed "high-risk graduate students and research scholars".

I was living in Bed-Stuy, kind of like a shelter. A lot of people didn't know this."I was in a shelter for women that had drug abuse problems. "I just graduated from school. You know as an international student you can't work. So, I couldn't work. I was doing the side thing in Bed-Stuy which is like the hood in Brooklyn." Tiwa also narrated how she met her friend, Elohor, who has always been there for her.  "Elohor came to NewYork, Elohor has always been that girl… she's like let's go to … she was like let's just hook up, let's go and eat. "We went to Timesquare, I ordered appetizer because I was so broke and I was so hungry! And I remember she was just looking at me asking what are you ordering and I was like I'm not really hungry… and then she just kept asking me are you sure… and I just started crying and when asked what is the matter I was like Elohor i don't have money… "She started ordering stuff and even ordered stuff for me to take home. .. and I just remembered going home to my box (in the shelter) and I just started crying and I was like I can't believe this girl just made my day…" Breaking down in tears, she talked about how Elohor was the first person she contacted when they posted her picture on Timessquare. Encouraging and motivating her friends she said… "So the first time when they posted my picture on Timesquare, she was the first person I called to say Elohor do you remember the first time… that was twenty years later… If I gave up five years ago I wouldn't be saying this story. | Governor El-Rufai says It costs over N400k to treat one COVID-19 patient Posted: 10 Sep 2020 02:30 AM PDT  Governor of Kaduna, Nasir el-Rufai, says it costs about N400,000 to treat a COVID-19 patient in the state.Speaking on Monday during an executive committee meeting with traditional rulers chaired by Sa'ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, the governor said the amount is as a result of the increasing cost of drugs, feeding, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors.El-Rufai said the government cannot tell patients to bear the cost of the treatment because it will lead to further spread of the disease."We have a very high success rate in treating COVID-19 patients. Even a 90-year-old person, with underlying conditions, diabetes and hypertension was treated successfully in the state," el-Rufai said. "The virus has not left us. We may ignore it, but it is still there. We urge you to sensitise our people to protect themselves against this virus, particularly those that are above the age of 60. "It costs about N400,000 to treat one coronavirus patient. They have to be isolated and fed. The cost of medicine has increased, even the personal protective equipment that the doctors treating them have to wear. When you add all this up, the average cost of treatment is over N400,000 per person. We have to bear the cost." In March, el-Rufai contracted COVID-19, but he recovered after nearly four weeks. Kaduna has recorded a total of 2,214 COVID-19 cases so far.  | ||
