Comedian AY blasts those asking why no celebrity died during #EndSARS protests

Posted: 26 Oct 2020 10:30 PM PDT

Popular Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun better known as AY, has gone hard on people asking why no celebrity died during #EndSARS protests held across the country.

The comedian who doubles as an actor registered his dissatisfaction in series of social media posts he shared on Monday, October 26.

He recalled how celebrities yielded to the calls of Nigerians to lend voices to the #EndSARS campaign and how the celebrities obliged by taking to streets to protest for an end to police brutality and bad governance in the country.

Having noted the above, AY expressed disappointment over questions by some Nigerians asking "How come no celebrity was reported dead too?"

He however called on Nigerians to remain focused and not lose focus on the common goal of advocating for a better Nigeria.

He tweeted, "When we were yet to tweet about #EndSar,it started with "pls add ur voices". When we did, they said "get off ur tweeting fingers & join d protest on d street".When we also did & lost some of our youths in d struggle, they are now asking "How come no celebrity was reported dead too?"

Taking to Instagram, AY wrote, "Passing the blame card to any celebrity is an inappropriate response to the death of our fellow compatriots in the struggle for a better Nigeria .

Even as we mourn our brothers and sisters, let's maintain a proper focus on our set goals, and be less concerned about any form of orchestrated distractions. Let's quit discouraging everyone who joined us all in making our voices heard, no matter how low.

Your liking or disliking any celebrity doesn't count as much as we respect ourselves as human beings. Let's not make our solutions to the problem be as bad as the problem itself. We shall all be alive to witness that NEW NIGERIA of our dreams soonest."

Fashola Found a ‘Hidden Camera’ at Lekki Toll Gate & Nigerians Have So Much to Say

Posted: 26 Oct 2020 02:49 PM PDT

The Lekki Toll Gate massacre raised so many questions in the hearts of Nigerians; Why were the lights turned off? Why were the security cameras uninstalled? and now, Nigerians are wondering how Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, found a camera at the scene of the shooting in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

It's so much to take in: With all the shootings, the fire, and the cleanup by LAWMA and the volunteers, the 'hidden camera' was sitting pretty at the toll gate all along. Nigerians are wondering how this is possible.

During the assessment of some of the places vandalised during the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protest, on Sunday, by ministers and South-West governors, Fashola found the camera which he said must have been planted by "some subversive elements".

The minister picked up the device with a piece of clothing, as seen in the video below, and reportedly handed it over to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos. This camera, they say will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate.

"It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe," he reportedly said.

BBA’s Tayo Faniran – Stop going to church, Christianity was brought to us by slave masters

Posted: 26 Oct 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Former Big Brother Africa housemate, Tayo Faniran, has advised his social media followers to stop going to church, as it has divided them and demonized African practices and beliefs.

According to the reality star, Fela and other Africanists that came before now, weren't different from other prophets that were imposed on people. He went further to say that Africa has one enemy and it lives in their heads.

Read as he posted on IG below…

"Stop going to church,God lives inside us,Christianity was brought to us by the slave masters,it divided us,it demonized African practices and beliefs,God is love and Love is God,when you do good you will see God,when you do bad you will see satan, don't let any man lie to you that he is closer to God than you are, know your God and pay more attention to him by yourself and he will never leave you.If we can have half the churches in Africa today converted to halls where we teach African history and studies,it may not take us more than a year to realize most of our problems live in our heads,we have bigger oppression than our individual country governments to break from,Africa has one enemy, just one,and this enemy/oppressor lives in our heads, they have fed us with so much information from generations before us to make sure we remain chained in our land forever and religion is one of their major tools they use to play us,stop following and start to ask questions, you will realize that all they will answer you with is "you can't question God" … who is this god, their god or my God ? I tell you what,I ask God questions and he answers me,all these happens within me,inside of me.

My God is not a poverty loving God,He hurts when I hurt,He is happy when I'm happy, will Mercedes manufacture a car and send into the market without its manual,so since my God created me in his own image, why then should I be made to believe that He had not sent me into this world with my own manual ?

Don't just keep following, pause and ask questions, trust me it's clearer than you think, all you have to do is just think. If one religion encourages poverty and more poverty while the other preaches freedom and liberation, which would you choose?

Fela and other Africanists that came before us weren't different from other prophets that were imposed on us,many things they said before are happening now,why are we not listening to them? Even though they demonized and criminalized most/all of them, yet we can't forget their words,God sent them too ✊🏿

Who legalized cigarette (artificial killer) and demonized marijuana (natural healer/drug) ,who condemned the use of herbs and replaced it with chemicals?"

“I didn’t go nowhere, I’m still Jagaban” – Tinubu says as he visits Gov. Sanwo-Olu

Posted: 26 Oct 2020 02:00 AM PDT

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has revealed he did not flee amidst crises that trailed the Tuesday Lekki killings.

The self-styled "Jagaban" disclosed this when he visited the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the State House in Marina today, October 24.

While addressing journalists shortly after the meeting, Tinubu said he did not travel out of the country as circulated by some mainstream and social media platforms

He revealed the purpose of his meeting with Sanwo-Olu was to ask him if he had ordered soldiers to attack #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday.

Recall Tinubu had come under fire days after the Lekki massacre, as hoodlums burnt down TVC and some other investments reportedly linked with him, with many asserting he "ran" out of the country over fears of being attacked.

Tinubu has now faulted claims insinuating his son was kidnapped, and that he jetted out to France for safety.

Speaking on Saturday, Tinubu emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into Tuesday night's attack.

In his words, "First, we have to segregate the calendar – those who suffered casualty before the protests from the hands of SARS. You have to separate that from those who suffered casualty due to what happened at the toll gate.

"For those who suffered casualty from SARS, the Commission of Inquiry that is already set up will unearth that and will make their recommendations. I trust the calibre and the character of the people there, they are independent. That is one.

"Those who suffered casualty during the gunshots need to answer some questions too. Even though we want to help, we still must extract information that will help the government to prepare in future and understand how and when to react because the governor, in particular, is a youth.

"As a youth himself, he (Sanwo-Olu) quickly went to Abuja with the 5/5. The government immediately put into action, dissolved the SARS and had to work through other recommended actions, the needs they demanded. Within a few days, he reported back to the public. That is responsive enough.

"But where are we getting the looting, the carnage, the burning, the invasion of police stations, stealing of arms, maiming of the innocent? It is a handshake beyond the elbow."

Asked about his whereabouts in the past few days, Tinubu said, "I didn't go nowhere; I'm a Lagosian and I still hold the title of Asiwaju of Lagos and I am still a Jagaban.

"Fake news is all over the place. They say Seyi my son was kidnapped and was chased but look at him. I didn't pay a penny to bring him here."

Tuesday night attack at the Lekki toll gate has been condemned by both local and international civil rights organisations and personalities.
