What the fuck are you talking about @desmondelliot ??? You are not making a damn sense Shola??? Are you mad?? Because you now eat from the table of corruption, you've all of a sudden lost your sense of belonging?? I've always believed that power corrupts, but I held Hope high for you and could swear for your character as a man and as a person. Apparently you are now at a place of convenience, you now think you have the audacity to talk down on the fingers that fed you and the people whose wings propelled you to where you are today?? Fuck you Desmond. Not too long ago at Lagos State University, people like me were giving you transport money to catch a ride back home. You've forgotten where you come from… omashey oo. Pele Politician., the youths are waiting for you come next election. Oniranu jatijati.

Desmond I expected this same level of passionate speech when the youths were being killed at Lekki tollgate? Where were was your outrage?

I've not seen your speech condemning the Nigerian Army or your Governor who lied about it!!

Where is your passionate speech regarding police brutality against the Nigerian youth? Where is your passionate speech regarding the pains and sufferings of the Nigerian youth.. just yesterday you were a nobody that everybody believed would make a change by advocating for the youths and less privileged because we all come/came from nothing to become who we are today but you've forgotten that.

I've truly lost every atom of respect and love I have for you.

You are better than this Shola ! What happened to you Shola Onyema Desmond Elliot?

I'm waiting for your passionate regarding the untold hunger amongst Lagosians and the high unemployment amongst our youth? You feel differently now because you don't know what it's like again to go to bed hungry with zero hopes for tomorrow? Omashey oo.

Where is your outrage addressing Mr Speaker in your parliament?? Have you forgotten Desmond??

Don't betray who you are and your conscience.. Power is momentary .. don't lose your soul.

You truly disappoint me and all who loved and cared about you and what you represent.

It's truly a shame Desmond.

Buhari’s daughter says palliatives in warehouses shows her father isn’t Nigeria’s problem

Posted: 30 Oct 2020 03:37 PM PDT

President Muhammadu Buhari's daughter, Zahra Buhari-Indimi says the discovery of COVID-19 palliatives in warehouses across the country have shown that her father is not the problem of Nigeria.

In the last few days, thousands of Nigerians have been invading warehouses to loot COVID-19 palliatives kept in the buildings.

Zahra said this on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, October 25, 2020.

She wrote, "Now that people confirmed that Buhari distributed enough palliatives nationwide, it is clear Buhari is not our problem."

In the last few days, thousands of Nigerians have been invading politicians' residences and COVID-19 palliatives warehouses in their states to loot food items kept in the buildings.

The COVID-19 palliatives warehouses in Lagos, Osun, Kaduna, Edo, Cross River, Kwara, Plateau and many other states have all been looted by angry youths in the states.

Some of the food items found in the warehouses include cartons of noodles, sacks of garri, and bags of rice.

Some of the food items have also gone bad due to poor and prolonged storage.

In its reaction to the looting of the palliatives in Osun, the state government said the food items had not been distributed because it was still waiting for officials from Abuja to "commission" the goods.

The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, SOB Agunbiade, whose house was looted by hoodlums said the palliatives stolen from his residence in Ikorodu were meant to be distributed on his birthday.

The lawmaker said, "And for my birthday on 25th October 2020, I have sent out, through my Media Team, notice of my intention to give support to 50 widows who have already been nominated by different groups in a programme christened Widows Mite for Widows and also distribute to some vulnerable and indigent individuals across the three local councils of my constituency, some palliative materials donated by the state and federal governments, as well as myself. Those are the materials stolen from my house yesterday."

Meanwhile, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SREAP) has called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the alleged hoarding of COVID-19 palliatives discovered in different warehouses across the country.

“I didn’t know how to come back to real life” – Chrissy Teigen opens up on her pains

Posted: 30 Oct 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Chrissy Teigen pens a heartbreaking essay about losing son Jack

Chrissy Teigen, who lost her son Jack a few weeks ago, has penned a heartbreaking essay about her pain.

On Tuesday, October 27, the 34-year-old supermodel opened up about her heartbreaking ordeal in a brave essay posted to Medium.

She wrote: "I had no idea when I would be ready to write this. Part of me thought it would be early on, when I was still really feeling the pain of what happened."

She added: "I thought I would sit in the corner of my bedroom with the lights dimmed, just rolling off my thoughts. I'd have a glass of red wine, cozy up with a blanket, and finally get the chance to address 'what happened'."

Revealing what actually happened, Chrissy said she gave birth to her third child, a son named Jack, stillborn after severe complications four months into the pregnancy.

She went on to thank fans for their messages of support.

She continued: "Instead, I'm writing from the downstairs couch, still cozied up in a blanket but buzzing from a morning of friends and fried chicken. I'm reading off countless notes from my phone — thoughts that have randomly popped up in the weeks since. I didn't really know how I would start this, no matter the room or state I was in, but it feels right to begin with a thank you.

"For weeks, our floors have been covered in flowers of kindness. Notes have flooded in and have each been read with our own teary eyes. Social media messages from strangers have consumed my days, most starting with, 'you probably won't read this, but…'. I can assure you, I did.

"But I will tell you, some of the best letters started with, 'You don't have to respond to this, but…'. After we first lost Jack, I found myself incredibly worried that I wasn't able to thank everyone for their extreme kindness. Many shared incredible personal experiences, some shared books and poems. I wanted to thank everyone, share our story with each individual person. But I knew I was in no state to. For me, the 'no need to respond' note was such a true relief. I thank you for each and every one of those."

Narrating what happened on the day she lost, her son, she wrote: "One of the standout moments from that morning (or evening? I have no idea) was me going through the halls of labor and delivery, and John saying 'What, is there a fucking party going on here??'

"Here we were, just wheeled down to a new floor, me covered in a thin blanket to hide, knowing I was about to fully deliver what was supposed to be the 5th member of our beautiful family, a son, only to say goodbye moments later. People cheered and laughed right outside our door, understandably for a new life born and celebrated. You kind of wonder how anyone is thinking about anyone but you.

"At this point I had already come to terms with what would happen: I would have an epidural and be induced to deliver our 20 week old, a boy that would have never survived in my belly (please excuse these simple terms).

"I was previously on bedrest for over a month, just trying to get the little dude to 28 weeks, a 'safer' zone for the fetus.

"My doctors diagnosed me with partial placenta abruption. I had always had placenta problems. I had to deliver Miles a month early because his stomach wasn't getting enough food from my placenta. But this was my first abruption.

"We monitored it very closely, hoping for things to heal and stop.

"In bed, I bled and bled, lightly but all day, changing my own diapers every couple of hours when the blood got uncomfortable to lay in. I actually became an adult diaper expert for my own personal entertainment, truly appreciating the brands that went out of their way to not make me feel like an actual shitting baby. Some were blush colored, with drawn delicate flowers. I got to the point where I was actually like, 'hell yeah, throw me the pink ones!' — something I never thought I'd be excited for. But there we were."

She went further: "Finally, I had a pretty bad night in bed, after a not-so-great ultrasound, where I was bleeding a bit more than even my abnormal amount. My bleeding was getting heavier and heavier. The fluid around Jack had become very low — he was barely able to float around. At some points, I swore it was so low I could lay on my back and feel his arms and legs from outside my belly.

"After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming — it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn't survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either. We had tried bags and bags of blood transfusions, every single one going right through me like we hadn't done anything at all.

"Late one night, I was told it would be time to let go in the morning. I cried a little at first, then went into full blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness. Even as I write this now, I can feel the pain all over again. Oxygen was placed over my nose and mouth, and that was the first picture you saw. Utter and complete sadness."

At the time Chrissy shared photos shortly after the death of her son, some people called her out for taking pictures at such a moment.

Addressing it, she wrote: "I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was. I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed them, and that I did NOT want to have to ever ask. That he just had to do it. He hated it. I could tell. It didn't make sense to him at the time. But I knew I needed to know of this moment forever, the same way I needed to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle, the same way I needed to remember our tears of joy after Luna and Miles. And I absolutely knew I needed to share this story.

"I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it's something you wouldn't have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren't for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me."

Court strikes out homosexuality charges against dancer, James Brown and others

Posted: 30 Oct 2020 02:30 AM PDT

The homosexuality charges filed against effeminate dancer, James Brown and 46 others in November 2019 has been struck out by a federal court in Lagos.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa who ruled on the case on Tuesday October 27, struck out the case on ground of the charges against the defendants lacking "diligent prosecution" by the police.

While the federal high court judge pointed out that the prosecuting counsel, J.I Ebhoremen, was absent from court for the umpteenth time with no reasonable explanation, the defence counsel, Israel Usman noted that it was the ninth time Mr Ebhoremen did not show up in court since the case started in 2019.

Usman urged the Judge to strike out the case as Section 356(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 provided a maximum of five adjournments at the instance of the prosecution in a criminal trial.

He said;

"This is ninth adjournment at the instance of the prosecution in contravention of the statutory Act that regulates criminal justice system. We urge the court to dismiss the case and discharge the defendants."

Ruling on the case, Aikawa said;

"I agree entirely with defendants' counsel that the prosecution's attitude to this case is not satisfactory. In my view, this should not be. If the prosecution has a cogent reason not to be in court, he should have communicated in writing to the court and copy the defence counsel.

"For whatever reason, the prosecution is no more capable or not willing to prosecute this case. Consequently, this case is struck out due to lack of diligent prosecution."
