Netflix cancels African Original, 'Queen Sono'

Netflix has reportedly halted plans for for a second season of its debut African Original series, 'Queen Sono'.

The African original starring Pearl Thusi was cancelled due to Covid-19.

According to a statement shared a Netflix spokesperson, the decision to cancel production of the series' second season follows difficulties encountered due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with season 2 of 'Queen Sono'. The company thanked the Diprente team for their work on the show and fans of the show.

"We are incredibly proud of the Diprente team for sharing their audacious vision and bringing it to life with Netflix.

"A huge thank you to our fans across the world for the love shared for our first African Original series.

"Netflix is also grateful to the amazing efforts shown by the cast and crew for their stellar efforts in creating this show for our members around the world."

Reacting to the development, 'Queen Sono' director and screenwriter Kagiso Lediga said: "We wrote a beautiful story that spanned the continent but unfortunately could not be executed in these current trying times."

The six-episode South African crime drama series follows Queen Sono (Pearl Thusi), a field operative for an intelligence agency who sets out to uncover the mystery behind her mother's death. It premiered on Netflix on February 28, 2020.

Media personality Emma Ugolee recounts decade long struggle with kidney failure

Nigerian media personality Emma Ugolee has recounted his decade long struggle with kidney failure.

After a decade long of visits to different hospitals, the media personality says he is now hale and healthy.

In a post shared via his Instagram page on Thursday, November 26, 2020, the media recounted all that he went through during his illness and how he survived.

"Look who is standing. Standing after about a decade since both kidneys failed. After a failed transplant and 22 surgeries of all sorts, from the thighs to the eyes. With several cuts and scars. After four 911 rides and several near strolls to the other side. After over 10 hospitals in 4 countries," he wrote.

"After 1,296.00 sessions of dialysis. After a colon cancer scare. After disappointments from men. After almost a million dollars. After bouts of depression Yes! Guess who is still standing? Standing healthier, standing stronger, standing wiser, standing more hopeful and zesty than ever."

He went on to thank God and everyone for seeing him through the journey towards recovery.

"Doing everything he sets his mind to and making all his dreams come true In the same journey where the graves have claimed many, on a day like this when everyone is grateful. I look back and then I look up and say Thank you Jehovah," he added.

"Look too at your journey and see that you too have every reason to salute the soldier in you. Keep fighting. NB: Grateful to all of you for the support here. #gratittude #thankfull."

Born in Jos, Plateau state, Ugolee started his career in 1999 with Minaj Broadcast Television as a Talk show host.

Omokanye Olasunkanmi Muhammed, better known as Sonorous is a multi talented artiste, music composer and actor who hails from Kwara state but was born and brought up in Ilorin.

Ex-BBNaija season 5 housemate, Ozoemena Joseph popularly known as Ozo has signed a mega deal as the Brand Manager of Juventus Academy Nigeria.

The handsome reality Tv star shared the good news with fans in a social media post he made on Thursday, November 26.

Founded in 1897, Juventus Football Club, colloquially known as Juve, is an Italian professional association football club based in Italy.

The popular 123-year-old club which is the home of one of the best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, has its football academy in Nigeria, the Juventus Academy Nigeria.

And the club's Nigerian academy has now brought Ozo onboard as its Brand Manager.

Making the big announcement on social media, Ozo wrote; "I'm pleased to announce my new role as the brand manager of Juventus Academy in Nigeria(@jacademynigeria). Looking forward to this exciting new journey. #FORZAJUVE"

The football academy has also taken to their official page to congratulate Ozo on his new role at the academy.


Congratulations are already in place for the 27-year-old entrepreneur who also doubles as a sports analyst.

Die-hard fan gets haircut with Davido’s face on his head

A die-hard fan of a popular singer, Davido Adeleke, has celebrated his favorite with a haircut of his face on his head.


This is coming following the DMW Records boss' birthday some days ago.

With the help of a fantastic barber and a lot of carving the fan is able to achieve the face of the singer on the back of his head.

This is not the first time someone will get a haircut in Davido's honor. We have also had women, including a female celebrity tattoo his name on their chests.

Just recently, an artist took to a massive wall on his street and drew a photo of Omo Baba Olowo.
