Community Source reveals Victims Of Zarbamari Massacre Were Boko Haram Informants, Not Farmers

Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:30 PM PST

A totally different report has emerged from the incident that led to the killing of rice farmers in Borno State last weekend by Boko Haram terrorists.

According to a source in the community, most of the victims were informants and logistics suppliers to the insurgents.

Recall that about forty-eight people were killed by Boko Haram on Saturday morning in Zarbamari.

Following the incident, the state Governor, Babagana Zulum, had on Thursday, disbursed the sum of N600,000 to family members of the slain farmers.

A local Zarbamari, Mallam Kabiru Zanna, who spoke with Daily Post, claimed that most of the victims are collaborators of Boko Haram who hailed from Zamfara and Sokoto States and not farmers.

"The people that were killed were logistics suppliers and collaborators with Boko Haram. They supply them food and fuel. They also help the insurgents in selling rustled cows", he said.

The source who communicated in Hausa language, also spoke on what happened on the day of the incident before things went south.

"Last week, these same people were on their way to meeting the insurgents for business when they were accosted by soldiers and after the soldiers couldn't find anything on them they let them go."

"Meanwhile, the insurgents who were waiting saw them with the troops who later killed 5 of them after an ambush, so the insurgents accused those guys of providing Intel to the soldiers. This is the main reason why the terrorists began killing them."

"The insurgents called them to meet on Thursday but they said they wouldn't be able to make it until Saturday. They agreed to meet early morning 5:00am on that day. They even had their morning prayers there."

"From there, the insurgents began to tell them about those guys who used to supply them food, who also betrayed them by providing Intel to the troops."

"Normally if there are betrayers in a town the entire community would pay the price for such acts. At that moment, the insurgents ordered that everyone be tied. They instructed that no gun should be fired in other not to attract troops."

"That was exactly what happened. Those people mostly are collaborators of the terrorists", he added.

Zanna, who has been keeping tabs with activities of Boko Haram in the state, said, though some that were killed were innocent, "but very few of them. I swear most of them are traders with the insurgents. None of them is a rice farmer, they are all in trade with the insurgents".

The mother and daughter shared photos of themselves wearing matching outfits with Jaiye's photo, and poured out their hearts in the caption.

According to Stella Damascus,

It's been 16 years since we lost my hubby JAIYEJEJE ABODERIN. Still feels like yesterday. I wasn't sure I could bring myself to write this but I need to. Our daughters are 21 and 18 now, all grown up. They decided to do something different this year to honor him. We all miss him and talk about him daily. Jay is not the kind of man that you forget. I smile each time I remember or talk about him because that's what he represented to all who knew him. He brought joy, happiness, comfort and support to all. I cry sometimes because I wish he could have spent more time with us. But God knows best. Anyone who has lost a spouse will understand what I mean. JAY will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on. No matter where we go or who we become, he will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Obim. #RIP #jaiyejejeAboderin

Izzy Bella wrote,

16 years ago today, I lost someone very important to me. At the time, I didn't fully understand the concept of death and didn't realize that my father wasn't coming back from heaven. This really affected me in my later years, and every December, it felt like I lost him over again. But in these same years, I heard many more wonderful stories about him and how much he was celebrated, especially after he passed away. I finally understood why God couldn't wait to take him up to heaven; because he wasn't just an extremely amazing human being. He was an angel. So this year, we celebrate the life of my late father. Daddy, you will forever be in our hearts. Rest in perfect peace. 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️💕💕 #rip #daddy
