“You don think Grammy forget date” – Nigerians drags Davido over late Mother’s Day post

Social media users have blasted the Nigerian award-winning musician, Davido over a late mother's day post he made.

Mother's day was celebrated on the 14th day of March, but Davido chose to wish mothers a happy mother's day on Monday, 15th March. This act of his has now stirred up reactions.

Subsequently, some Nigerians wasted no time to jump to a conclusion as a Twitter user said that O.B.O failed to celebrate mother's day when others did, largely because he was depressed, due to his inability to bag a Grammy award.

Another social media user also said he probably might have forgotten the date while thinking about the Grammy award.

“Many of una papa and mama think the same way” – OAP N6 backs Pete Edochie’s viral interview

An OAP tackles Nigerian journalist for the viral interview of Pete Edochie as he claims that many of their papa and mama think the same way he thinks.

As more people air their opinion on the controversial interview granted by Sir, Pete Edochie, many Nigerians have queried the Veteran actor on his perspective concerning married women and their cheating husbands in this new millennium.

More so, people have dragged the actor for granting more interviews about African marriages.

Unlike OAP N6, he has taken to his Instagram to call out the group of journalists constantly interviewing Pa Pete Edochie who's a grandfather.


He claims that they are a total disgrace. And the Veteran actor is right in his perspective because most of our parents think the same way.

A viral video of the fast-rising musical artiste, Omah lay and his female Ghanaian counterpart, Gyakie leaving a lounge has sparked dating rumours among Nigerians.

The video was posted by an Instagram blogger identified as Sabiradio, who reported that Omah lay and the Ghanian singer, Gyakie could probably be dating after they were spotted leaving a lounge together in a jeep yesterday.

In the words of the blogger:

"Singer Omah Lay and Ghanaian afro-fusion singer, Gyakie, spark dating rumors after they're spotted together leaving a lounge yesterday."

Gambian actress and producer, Princess Shyngle has confirmed that she once dated Grammy award winner, Burna Boy.

Recall that a popular Instagram blog, Instablog9ja, reported that Burna Boy and Princess Shyngle were dating each other as they were spotted together at an outlet in Lagos in 2019.

However, Princess Shyngle has confirmed the report on her Instagram page while congratulating him for his great achievement.

Taking to her Instagram page, she shared a video of her having a video call with Burna Boy.

Sharing the video, she wrote: "When your ex wins a Grammy you clout chase, on the real though congratulations Dami saw how hard you worked for this Africa to the world."

Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodrigue Dismiss Breakup Rumour

Following reports that they have broken up after almost four years together, singer Jennifer Lopez and former New York Yankees, baseball star, Alex Rodriguez have revealed they were, "working through some things."

Earlier on E! News had confirmed that the Hollywood couple had called off their engagement which is nearly two years.

Rodriguez proposed to Lopez in the Bahamas in March 2019 after dating for two years.

The news, however, came as a shock to fans after Jennifer Lopez and Alex spent Valentine's Day together and also attended the Super Bowl in Miami in February.

Following the development, the couple while giving an update to the reported split in a statement provided to Reuters said all the reports are inaccurate.

The duo also revealed that they were working through some things.

"All the reports making rounds on social media are inaccurate. We are working through some things.

"There has been a rocky patch which every relationship goes through, but the things are not as bad as the media makes It seem.

"We are trying out some new stuff and hopefully, this will work out," the couple said.

In a category where he's never been nominated (Best Contemporary Christian Music Album) Kanye West has won his first Grammy award in eight years, for his 2019 pivot to gospel, 'Jesus Is King'.

West who once shared a video of himself peeing on one of his 21 prior Grammys, wasn't present at last night's (March 14) ceremony in Los Angeles, to collect the award.

A winner at the ceremony that made Africa proud was Nigeria hip hop star, Burna Boy who won Best Global Music Album at the Awards. His album Twice as Tall won the award over records by Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).

Beyoncé was the big winner of the night, taking home four awards and breaking the record for the most Grammy wins by a female artist and by any singer, male or female.

Taylor Swift, meanwhile, became the first woman to win Album Of The Year three times, picking up the biggest award of the evening for 'folklore'.

The annual In Memoriam segment of the show also saw Brittany Howard, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Bruno Mars and more paying tribute to lost stars of the music world.

[Video]: Pete Edochie cautions women against leaving a cheating husbands

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has kicked against Nigerian women leaving their marriages on the ground of infidelity.

In a video shared via Instagram, the veteran stated that women who abandon their homes due to their husband's sexual promiscuity are only copying white women. According to him, going through multiple divorce and marriages doesn't play out well for Nigerian women.

Using the Biblical Solomon who had 300 wives and 700 concubines, he advised women with philandering husbands to remain in their marriages.

He went on to share an interesting piece of advice to women dealing with cheating husbands.

He said:

"If you think the husband is leaving the house to go and have an affair outside, put a packet of condom in his pocket. Psychologically, he's gonna think, 'this woman has my interest at her'. If it is his intention to stray, he'll pull himself together."

Korede Bello opens up on marriage plans, relationship with Iyabo Ojo’s daughter

Nigerian singer, Korede Bello, recently revealed that he does not have plans to get married anytime soon even though he believes in the institution.

In a chat with Maryjane Eze for Legit.ng, the music star when asked if he would join the baby mama trend in the industry, stated that he does not do trends as he likes being himself.

He said:

"For baby mama trends in the music industry, I don't do trends. I like being me. That notwithstanding, I believe in marriage; If your definition of marriage is a partnership then yes!"
Speaking on his rumoured romantic relationship with actress, Iyabo Ojo's daughter, the God Win crooner who was being diplomatic said:

"You mean Priscilla? Why didn't you just say her name? Now I'm upset and I respectfully decline to answer the question because a real man only answers direct questions."

Korede further stated that if he had the rare opportunity to turn back the hands of time, they are a lot of things he would have done differently in the past.

"Ah! If I could turn back the hands of time there're a lot of things I would love to change but I guess there's a reason we can't do that because what will be will eventuality find a way of being. I might not be able to change the past but I can still influence the timeline by taking actions in the present that can change the future. So if I could, I would travel back in time and tell myself that I have the power to change the future with my thoughts and actions."

The entertainer mentioned that the pandemic had an adverse effect on his brand as he could not go on tour and had to restrategise to give his fans something.

In his words:

"My plan at the beginning of last year was to hit the road touring. I had just introduced my fans to the newly rebranded Korede Bello but Covid hit before we could hit the road. So we had to strategize and that's when I came up with Micasa Sucasa, which literally means 'my house is your house'. With the help of TikTok, I was able to target a global virtual audience."
Bello also has a newfound initiative called KBI which focuses on mental health, especially for celebrities.

"It was established when I realised that it doesn't matter how much money or fame you acquire, you need good health to enjoy it. Especially mental health. So that's why I started advocating for mental wellness as priority. Nothing really works effectively when our mental health is threatened."

Wizkid has won his first Grammy award and it’s for “Brown Skin Girl”

On March 14, 2021, Nigerian superstar, Wizkid won 'Best Music Video' for his role on 'Brown Skin Girl' at the 63rd Grammy Award.

He won the award alongside the Beyonce, who owns the song and featured artists, Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy. The award will also go to Jenn Nkiru who directed the video.

The song was made for Beyonce's album, Lion King: The Gift which featured other Nigerian artists. In October 2019, Pulse Nigeria reported that preparations were being made for the video.

Wizkid will the Gramophone for his role on the song and in its video. The rules provide that the artists, producer and video director will get a statuette for this category. As of the time of this win, the video has over 31 million views on YouTube.
