Juliet Ariel releases new single 'Wish You Were Here' Ft. Laylizzy

French African singer Juliet Ariel released her new single "Wish You Were Here" featuring Mozambican rapper Laylizzy on March 19th.

"Wish You Were Here" reads like a greeting on a postcard. It is an emotional Afro-Latin club ballad about a long distance relationship's survival after the end of a summer love romance (ie. Juliet's previous track "Summer Luv").

The collaboration with Laylizzy, who is best known for his song "Wacko with King 98 and Nasty C" brings a new hip-hop perspective to her previously more tropical house inspired records.

The track is defined by a mesmerising mix of rhythm and emotion. Lo-fi effects on the drums and instruments bring intensity and suspense throughout the song. Juliet's chilled toned vocals are vulnerable yet powerful and Laylizzy smoothly delivers his response in Portuguese and English.

Talking about the track, Juliet said: "Feelings are like waves, they come and go, meaning you can't expect a good thing to last forever. When I wrote "Wish You Were Here" I wanted to express how I felt about the end of something great. Turning my fear of loss into a powerful song was a way for me to move on and look back and smile."

"Wish You Were Here" is available on all music platforms through Believe and is the second track from Juliet's upcoming EP, "Endless summer", which is expected later this year.

"Summer Luv", the first track from the EP, was released on July 3rd. It received playlist support from all major DSP's including Apple Music "Pop Chill", #1 on Deezer "Chill House", Amazon Music "Speaking Pop" and Soundcloud "Fresh Pressed UK".

Kunle Afolayan announces filming has ended for 'Swallow' movie

Ace film director, Kunle Afolayan has announced the end of principal photography for his forthcoming Netflix feature 'Swallow'.

The forthcoming film is an adaptation of Sefi Atta's 2010 novel 'Swallow'.

Afolayan took to his Instagram handle on Friday, to share that filming has officially wrapped up nearly three months after he first hinted on the production.

Set in the 80s, the film which is an adaptation of Sefi Atta's 2010 novel of the same title, follows the story of Tolani Ajao, a naïve secretary whom, after a series of career woes, considers a drug trafficking offer from her roommate Rose Adamson.

Recall Afolayan unveiled the film as one of the three Netflix commissioned projects in production.

'Swallow' stars singer Niyola (Eniola Akinbo) in the lead role with Chioma Akpotha, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Omotunde Adebowale, Eniola Badmus, Mercy Aigbe, Kelvin Ikeduba, Joke Muyiwa, BBNaija reality star Thin Tall Tony and Olusegun Akinremi in supporting roles.

Valerie Onyekwere, daughter of Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, has commenced her mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The proud father shared pictures of Valerie in the NYSC uniform on Instagram on Friday, urging fans to show her love.

"See who is in the NYSC orientation camp. My daughter, Uloaku, Valerie. Please show her some love. Enjoy a great weekend. Avoid distractions, FEED YOUR FOCUS," he wrote.


Valerie, Kanayo's first child, graduated last August from Babcock University, Ogun State.

She studied Computer Science.

The Instagram blogger identified as gistlovers_blog1 accused the lady of having an amorous affair with a married man she met in church.

The blogger added that ever since they started seeing each other, Olaitan has turned him to an ATM spot; always requesting money from him periodically.

Samia Hassan becomes Tanzania’s first female president after the sudden death

Samia Suluhu Hassan has been sworn in as Tanzania's president, making history as the first female president of the country.

According to the BBC, Samia was sworn in by Ibrahim Juma, the chief justice, at the state house in Dar es Salaam.

The Tanzanian government announced the death of President John Magufuli on Wednesday, two weeks after he went off the radar, fuelling speculation that he had contracted COVID-19.
Hassan has now become the sixth president of Tanzania and she is the only serving female executive president in Africa.

She is also the first female president in East Africa.

According to the Tanzanian constitution, Hassan is to serve the remaining five years of Magufuli's tenure which is to end in 2025.

Nollywood actress Seyi Edun has come under intense attack after she struck a pose with Toyin Abraham's husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.

The duo (Seyi Edun and Kolawole Ajeyemi) were spotted in a movie poster that was shared by another actress cum director, Laide Bakare on Instagram while giving a brief synopsis on what the movie is all about.

Fans subsequently misinterpreted the photo to fit into what they had in mind, as they criticized Seyi Edun for trying to snatch Toyin Abraham's husband again.

Reports have it that Toyin Abraham was previously married to Adeniyi Johnson, but due to some reasons, the marriage failed and Johnson later got married to Seyi.

DJ Cuppy finally withdraws lawsuit against Isreal DMW on Zlatan Ibile’s saga

Award-winning Disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as Cuppy has finally withdrawn all charges initially filed against Davido's PA, Israel DMW.

Recall that Israel DMW and DJ Cuppy had previously fallen out with each other, due to some statements Israel DMW made against Cuppy during the Zlatan and Cuppy beef.

In a recent development, the billionaire's daughter has taken to her official Twitter handle to notify the public of her decision on withdrawing the charges against Isreal DMW.

Popular blog on Instagram, Gistlover1 has alleged that Davido's associate Habeeb Uthman popularly known as Obama DMW impregnated a top female Nigerian celebrity.

The Instagram blog gave a hint that the female celebrity who is currently pregnant for Obama DMW, has a child already and she is ashamed of facing the public and afraid of being dragged on social media.

Blogger alleges that superstar pop singer, Tiwa Savage lost a pregnancy for one of Davido's crew member, Obama DMW.

This is coming after a different blogger hinted that a 'popular superstar' lost a baby for Habeeb Uthman, a.k.a Obama DMW.

According to Cutie Juls, Tiwa Savage and Obama are having an affair that led to the pregnancy right before Tiwa went for cosmetic surgery.

Taking to Instagram, the blogger wrote;

Canadian superstar songwriter and singer, Justin Bieber drops a beautiful song titled, "loved by you".

This new song features Burnaboy, the Grammy Winner who won the category for the "Best Global Album"  with his album "Twice as Tall".

The superstar who makes global music has put his fans on their toes as they anticipate him to bring more than an afro-feel in this new release.
