Ghanaian Actress, Akuapem Poloo Finally Sentenced To Prison

Popular Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown, better known as Akuapem Poloo, has been sentenced to three months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court over the publication of obscene material and domestic violence.

The actress was sentenced for her Instagram post where she went naked while posing with her seven-year-old son in June, last year.

As the court sentenced her to 90 days in jail, the actress pleaded for mercy, to no avail.

"Mummy please, Mummy, I beg you, Mummy please," she reportedly said to the judge.

Akuapem's lawyer, Mr Andy Vortia, prayed for a more lenient sentence but the court held that a harsh sentence must be passed to serve as a deterrent to others.

The actress was convicted on her own plea, after she had pleaded guilty to three counts of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence namely a conduct that in any way undermined another person's privacy or integrity, and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracted or was likely to detract from another person's dignity and worth as a human being.

Popular Afropop singer, Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi encourages self-love as she condemns the idea of struggling to satisfy social media people.

This is coming days after the mother of one was dragged for putting out pictures that are considered too revealing despite being a mother.

Taking to her Instastory, Simi preached the extent of joy from being oneself other than going extra miles for social media validation.

In her words;


"Yo LOVE YOURSELF as you are!! Its great to do things for yourself that you want… But the moment you become consumed with looking or presenting yourself a certain way, so people that honestly, truly don't care about you on social media can tell you you're popping -it's only downhill from there.

Because you'll keep on giving up parts of your true self until there's nothing left. Its human nature. Please, I beg you. Let the most vulnerable version of you be enough. LOVE YOURSELF. VALIDATE YOURSELF. because you're enough. You will always be enough.

Nothing wrong with doing something that makes you happy, just make sure it's your approval you care about – not random peoples'.

I'm actually super concerned that young girls will have to work harder for a healthy self esteem. Because they'll be trying to live up to a standard that does not exist.

Fan drags Burna Boy for rocking almost same jewellery as Davido

A die-hard fan of the DMW Boss, Davido has accused Burna Boy of always competing with his idol after he was spotted rocking lookalike pieces of jewellery that were previously worn by Davido.

Davido hand had previously been referred to as the most expensive hand in the music industry, due to the kind of pieces of jewellery that were seen on it.

In what seems to be similar, but not exact, Burna Boy has also shown off his own expensive hand with valuable pieces of jewellery just like Davido.
 
This has however attracted the attention of a social media user who believes that Burna Boy is trying to compete with O.B.O.

Rapper CDQ’s mother encourages son amid NDLEA saga

The mother of the popular rapper, CDQ has given some words of encouragement to her son amid a clash between him and the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Recall that the rapper was said to have been allegedly assaulted by NDLEA personnel, who later accused him of possessing Cannabis which is contraband.

CDQ despite the allegations levelled against him, maintains that it is a set up geared towards denting his image.

In reaction to this, CDQ has shared his mother thoughts as regards the ongoing saga.

He wrote:

"My mum just said mio leyan shugbon mo ni Olohun. eleshe nimi o shugbon mio ba t'eda je ri. fi gbogbo ija e le fun Olohun whoever is behind all these false accusations it shall boomerang on them and their family… They can't spoil d name I built with sweat n blood. Yeh Yeh"

According to the mother of four, who seemed not to have welcomed such degrading comment about her, took to her Instagram page to address the issue in a recent video she made.

Mercy Johnson in the video stated that whenever she meets a fan, the very first comment she gets from them would be as regards her nose and how double-sized it is.
