Davido Becomes First African Artiste With 20 Million Instagram Followers

Award-winning musician, David Adeleke, also known Davido has hit 20 million followers on Instagram, making him the first African artiste to hit the milestone.

The singer also continues to maintain his number one spot as the most-followed African artiste on major social media platforms, ahead of his fellow superstars; Wizkid, Burna Boy among other top-rated artistes.

The DMW label boss did not hesitate to celebrate this achievement as he took to his page to announce the new feat.

He also announced a new collaboration from a song made by Zlatan Ibile featuring him and Mayorkun.

"20M FOLLOWERS!! Bleep IT NEW MUSIC TONITE!! @zlatan_ibile x OBO x @iammayorkun ������� 'CHO CHO' prod by @p.priime," he wrote in a caption.

Also, Davido's hit song "Fall" became the first Nigerian music video to hit 100 million in 2017, and in 2021 it became the first music video to hit 200 million views on YouTube.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Mercy Johnson could be seen with her first daughter, Purity and only son, Henry playing very rough on the compound whilst splashing water on themselves leaving the entire compound flooded.

The 36-year-old mother admitted that indeed they are scattering the house and as she was seen acting a funny a playful scene with her highly energetic children.

Embittered Nigerian singer Barry Jhay has showed his face for the first time since the death of his brother, friend and manager, Kashy Godson.

Kashy Godson died after falling from the fourth floor of a hotel in Accra, Ghana when he Barry had visited the country to embark on business in March.

Exactly a month after Kashy's death, Barry Jhay has come out and he has composed a tribute song for Kashy Godson.

It would be recalled that Barry Jhay released an official statement where he wailed that he and Kashy took a trip to Ghana just for a vacation but it turned out to be a nightmare he nearly did not wake up from.

These past few days have been drastically life changing for me with resounding frame of reflections. What was meant to be a vacation with my friend/brother turned into a tragic nightmare I almost didn't wake up from.

Actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, arrested by for allegedly defiling a minor

Popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly defiling a minor.

PUNCH Metro gathered that a closed-circuit television installed in the victim's home captured Omiyinka allegedly molesting the victim while her mother was not at home.

It was learnt that the victim's mother, who had been suspecting that her daughter was being sexually abused, installed the CCTV to uncover the perpetrator.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the victim's mother monitored the situation in her home on her phone and to her dismay, she saw Omiyinka allegedly conducting himself in a suspicious manner around her daughter.

The thespian allegedly took the victim away from the sitting room into the kitchen, where there was no CCTV camera installed, and the mother, who rushed back home upon the discovery, allegedly caught Omiyinka defiling her daughter in the kitchen.

The victim's mother was said to have been inconsolable after her discovery.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Thursday that Omiyinka was arrested after a case of defilement was reported against him, adding that preliminary investigation revealed that he had been sexually assaulting the 14-year-old victim since she was seven.

He stated that Omiyinka confessed to the crime, adding that the case had been transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.

Adejobi said, "The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James (Omiyinka), aka Baba Ijesha, 48, for defiling a minor

"The case of defilement was reported on April 19, 2021, by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at the Sabo Police Station and was transferred to the Gender Unit of the SCIID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.

"Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14, since she was seven-year-old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the victim's mother.

"The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter."

Media Personality, Emmanuel Ugolee Rushed To Hospital In Ambulance After ‘A Scary Episode’

Emmanuel Ugolee, a popular Media personality, voice actor and author, who is currently in the US was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after he suffered a scary episode.

Emma, who was diagnosed with a kidney disease years ago, recounting the experience, said it was "scary".

The popular TV broadcaster shared a video of himself lying inside the ambulance, with tubes attached to his body.

Medics finally succeeded in stabilising him and he took to Instagram to reiterate that "What God cannot do does not exist".

He also shared a photo he took in front of the hospital after he felt better.

Sharing a video, he wrote:

I know that some take these words for a joke : "What God cannot do does not exist" but my brother / my sister, there is nothing ò!

This 1st slide is me at 3am this morning. Taking a ride in the ambulance after a 911 call. The episode was definitely scary. In the midst of all the nnwi-nnwor – nnwi- nnwor and trying to get me stabilized, those 4 guys showed up. You know the ones with the suits, ties and coffin on thier shoulders.

I laughed, and with the strongest ever of faith and from the deepest part of my belly, I roared my 2 favorite words at times like this. "NOT TODAY!!!" .

The raw conviction in my voice and those niggas scampered.

Midway into my trip I asked for my phone to continue my documentation of this movie where the actor never dies.

The court is reportedly set to officially make Dr. Dre a single man again as the judge in his divorce case is ready to sign off on the couple to "legally" end their marriage.

The legal documents, obtained by The Blast, show that lawyers for the couple filed a "judgment" in the ongoing nasty divorce case after both parties agreed to sign off on the "status" of their divorce.

Dr. Dre reportedly filed legal documents asking the judge to "bifurcate" the status of their divorce, paving the way for him and Nicole Young to be single again.

However, the brutal divorce is long from over as there are still things to be settled.

The publication noted that the couple have not yet settled the financial part of their divorce case.

Legal documents obtained by The Blast revealed that Dre, 56, and Nicole, 51, agreed to legally end their marriage on April 15, but the financial issues that have caused them much disagreement are still ongoing.

They're still trying to come to an agreement over their huge $800 million fortune, with Dre saying she shouldn't get any of it and Nicole asking for half the money.

Nicole Young filed for divorce from the rapper after 24 years of marriage in June 2021. The splitting couple have two adult children together: son Truice and daughter Truly.

Akuapem Poloo Lands In Nsawam Prison Despite Bail

Ghanaian actress, Akuapem Poloo, also known as Rosemond Brown, has landed in Nsawam Prison despite being granted bail on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

Recall that Akuapem was sentenced to 90 days in jail by an Accra Circuit Court for the publication of a nude picture with her seven-year-old son she took in June of 2020.

On Wednesday, April 21, an Accra High Court granted her bail at GH¢80,000 with two sureties, pending an appeal by her lawyer Andy Vortia.


However, in a new development, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service ASP Samuel Kofi Opoku, in an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong, host of Onua FM's entertainment talk show Anigye Mmre, confirmed that Akuapem Poloo is currently in their custody at the Nsawam Female Prisons.

According to ASP Samuel Kofi Opoku, Akuapem Poloo was brought to them Thursday, April 22.

AY Makun's wife, Mabel Makun opens up on the intensity of depression she faced over criminal activities that she called the attention of the DSS to but was ignored.

This is coming after the interior designer called out the Department of State Services (DSS) for ignoring her petition that has been on their desk for last six months.

In a previous post, she wrote;

"So DSS Nigeria has a petition from my family in their office and for the past 6 months have refused to attend to it.

If there is anything I hate the most is having to put out private issues but from this part of the world,authorities have a way of not urgently attending to life threatening issues.

Should I start posting video evidences of this criminal act before actions will be taken against all the parties involved? Or should we continue to be quiet while innocent citizens die everyday in this country? I need everyone's opinion please. @dssnigeria"


Hours later, Mabel Makun made another post on the mental damage the security threat she's facing while beckoning at the DSS to answer her call.

"So for months,I experienced the full meaning of depression. Till date,there are days that I still hide and cry my eyes out. Only those very close to me can tell exactly what I went through trying to gain my sanity back. I am a lot better now but what about those that probably did not survive? do the needful," she added.

Peter Okoye “I make more money now, call it greed it’s your own cup of tea”

One of the defunct members of the PSquare band, Peter Okoye reveals that since his separation from the group, he makes more profit on his own.

The singer who rebranded his name as Mr. P reveals during an interview on HipTV that his income is at its peak unlike when he used to share it in three ways.

In Peter Okoye's words;

"Hundred percent, I am. I don't have to share three ways. Call it greed or selfishness. It's your own cup of tea. I share with nobody. Yes, my management and my team. Fine. But I'm doing my own thing. I'm freer.
