Ini Edo and Halima Abubakar allegedly cut off ties with each other over top Nigerian politician

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 10:30 PM PDT

Nollywood actresses, Ini Edo and Halima Abubakar have been reported to have broken their cordial relationship due to fracas that ensued between the duo involving a top Nigerian politician.

According to a blogger identified as Cutie_Julls, Ini Edo cut off relationships with Halima after she was linked to a top Nigerian politician in the north.

Narrating what happened, the blogger wrote:

"Okay so this gist is not really our business but on a low key see if what Ini did is right.

We all know how much Halimar praised Ini for being there for her when she was ill and flew abroad for surgery.

So late last around November/December.. things got a little hard for Ini. You know with covid etc most celebs weren't making enough money and the life style too needed to be maintained.

One thing for sure that mama is confirming to you is that, you see Halimar? She is very well connected to all these top Northern politicians but as she kinda only have this daddy and daughter thing with them and mummy and daughter thing with their wives, they can't do the knacking ish with her na. She just doesn't make money from these connections cuz typical Naija politicians don't give money except they are gbenzing So in worse case, she helps her female colleagues out. Notice how they are all always on Halimar's page flaunting fake love but will still go behind her and gossip abt her. They don't even invite her to their gatherings cuz they say "she's not my class". Almost all of them trust me. But she is the same person who bails them out with her connections mostly.

So fast foward.. Halumar hooked Ini with one very rich Hausa politician around November. Just the fight gbenzing, Sister Ini was given $10k. So as our sistet saw that the gbola was lucrative but there was high chances of Halimar linking some other girl in future, Ini started bad mouthing Halimar to the man but will still be forming "sister sister" to Halimar.

As Hausa man knows his Hausa sister/daughter.. The man dumped Ini like trash. Ini was hurt cuz the man pays wella.

As to whether Halimar will connect Ini again to any other rich man, we heard that is future impossible tense.

So as at now, they are both cruising with the fake love online but behind the gram, trust me.. Na one eye dem dey take look each other. Ini thinks Halimar spoiled the connection but what she doesn't know is that, Halimar did no such thing even tho she did not give Halimar one kobo from all the money she made from the man. The man only discard her cuz of the things she told the man about Halimar.

NCDC confirms outbreak of bird flu in 7 states (List of states affected)

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 09:00 AM PDT

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), said that Kano, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Niger States have reported confirmed human cases of Avian Influenza H5N1 also called "Bird flu."

The NCDC Director General, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday in Abuja, while providing highlights of the epidemiological situation and response activities in Nigeria.

NAN reports that Avian Influenza are strains of the influenza virus that primarily infect birds, but can also infect humans.

This type of flu is most often contracted by contact with sick birds, and can also be passed from person to person. It spreads by airborne respiratory droplets (coughs or sneezes).

Symptoms begin within two to eight days, and are like the common flu. Cough, fever, sore throat, muscle aches, headache and shortness of breath may occur.

Ihekweazu said as of March 24, 2021, the seven states reported outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) cases (H5N1) in poultries.

"Health National Rapid Response Team (RRT) from NCDC and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture were deployed to Bauchi, Kano and Plateau States.

"A total of 83 human samples were received and 64 (87.7 per cent) samples were tested. Of the tested samples, seven (10.9 per cent) were positive for Flu A, six 85.7 per cent were subtype A/H5 while one 14.3 per cent was unsub-typable," he explained.

The NCDC boss said official notification about the outbreak had been conveyed to the World Health Organisation (WHO) as required by the International Health Regulations (IHR).

He added that an official report had also been sent to the authorities at both Federal level and the affected states.

"Avian influenza outbreak Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at level 1 has been activated at national and in two states (Plateau and Gombe).

"Seven confirmed samples have been shipped to the WHO Collaborating Centre (WHO-CC) in the United States (US) for further characterisation," he noted.

Speaking on the response activities, he said a second session of EOC had been conducted with review of outbreak situation, response Terms of Reference (TORs) and Incident Actions Plan (IAPs).

"Seven states: Kano, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Nasarawa and Niger States have confirmed cases of Avian Influenza among poultry.

"Two states have reported seven cases among humans – Kano four and Plateau three. Only Kano, Plateau, Bauchi and Gombe States have had human contacts of birds followed up," he said.

According to him, of the 83 contacts reported, 27 contacts are from three Local Government Areas (LGAs); Nasarawa, Ungogo and Gwale in Kano State.

The others are: 18 contacts from two LGAs (Jos North and South) in Plateau; 19 contacts from two LGAs (Bauchi and Toro) in Bauchi State, and 19 contacts from three LGAs (Kaltungo, Yamaltu Deba and Gombe) in Gombe State.

Ihekweazu stated that all contacts were farmers, farm workers, bird handlers and traders, adding that the contacts were still asymptomatic except one who presented catarrh.

"A total of 83 human nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal samples have been collected from contacts of confirmed birds in four states: Kano (27), Plateau (18), Bauchi (19) and Gombe (19).

"A total of 13 blood samples have also been collected from the very-close contacts (human) of the birds in three states: Plateau (3), Bauchi (5), and Gombe (5).

"Of 83 human samples collected, 64 (87.7 per cent) samples were analysed using Real time Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Of 64 samples analysed, only 7 (10.9 per cent) were positive for Flu A.

"Of the seven samples positive for Flu A, only six "85.7 per cent "were positive for A/H5 while one (14.3 per cent) was unsubtypable. All seven positive samples have been shipped to WHO Coordinating centre for further lab analysis," he said.

The NCDC boss noted that sensitisation was carried out by the national and state RRT to farm owners, workers, Live Bird Market (LBM) associations and communities in the affected states.

He added that biosecurity measures were extensively discussed for the benefit of the farmers and communities.

Peruzzi Narrates First Ever Encounter With Davido, Drags Former Label Boss

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 08:00 AM PDT

Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, a Nigerian singer and song writer, has recounted his first ever encounter with record label boss and singer David Adeleke aka Davido.

Peruzzi shared this story when he appeared on the Nancy Isime Show, hosted by actor and TV host, Nancy Isime. The Majesty crooner discussed his career and issues with his former record label boss; Patrick Anyaene.

Peruzzi described meeting Davido as a decision of courage as his manager encouraged him to man up and try his luck.

Describing their first meeting, the singer said it was Davido who reached out to him, as he was coy. In his words;

"It was really difficult to meet him. It was just me, my manager and my friend. So my manager just said come, lets' go and try. So he told my guy to wait so we won't be too many Niggas there.

So I started going small small making sure I don't step on anyone before they slap me. When I got to two people before David, I just rose my head up and then he looked at me and just stretched his hand. Broda, if you see the way I grabbed that hand… Yes! Yes, My Guy," he said.

He also took the opportunity to hit out at his former label boss, Patrick Anyaene, the CEO of Golden Boy Entertainment, a record label to which he was signed before he joined Davido's DMW.

In January 2020, Anyaene had taken to Twitter to drag Peruzzi and Davido via a long, viral Twitter thread. Peruzzi then responded with lighthearted jibes. He said,

"You are still going on social media, it means it's not favouring you now. Me, I'm good… Me, I like court. He [Patrick] got me arrested one time now, I landed from Lagos to Abuja, I had a show and he got me arrested. You say you have an artist, right and that you have a contract and the artist breached the contract.

"That means if you go to court, you would win [the case] for sure right? So why don't you just go there?"

The Weeknd Announces $1 Million Donation To Feed Women And Children In Ethiopia

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 06:00 AM PDT

As the war in Ethiopia lingers on, singer, The Weeknd has announced he'll be donating $1million to help feed Ethiopians.

The singer-songwriter, whose parents are from Ethiopia and whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye,  said that he will donate to Ethiopian relief efforts through the UN World Food Programme.

Thousands of civilians are believed to have been killed, raped and abused during the course of Ethiopia's war with the Tigray region of the country.

There have been reports that Ethiopian soldiers executed unarmed men in Tigray, though Ethiopia's government has dismissed evidence of these claims.

The UN announced on March 25 that the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission would launch a joint investigation into possible crimes

"My heart breaks for my people of Ethiopia as innocent civilians ranging from small children to the elderly are being senselessly murdered and entire villages are being displaced out of fear and destruction," The Weeknd, said on his Instagram and Twitter accounts on Sunday April 4.

"I will be donating $1 million to provide 2 million meals through the United Nations World Food Programme and encourage those who can to please give as well."

The violence in Ethiopia has been going on since November 2020, when Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed ordered attacks on the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) after Ahmed alleged that TPLF had attacked a federal military base.

This isn't the first time The Weeknd has contributed to a cause as he donated $300,000 to the global Aid for Lebanon campaign last August to help victims of an explosion in Beirut that killed over 200 people.

He also donated $500,000 to racial justice groups: the Black Lives Matter Global Network, Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp and the National Bail Out Collective following the killing of George Floyd.

Don Jazzy Regrets Not Signing Falz, Simi And Teni, Says He Never Wanted Davido

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 05:30 AM PDT

Nigerian record producer, Don Jazzy has expressed regret for his failure to sign what e called "three hot stars" of Falz, Simi and Teni at the early stages of their career.

CEO of Mavin Records said the the only person he didn't want to sign was Davido but he knew he was going to be huge as they have money already.

He disclosed while speaking in a Black Box Interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Don Jazzy revealed how he lost Falz due to his affiliation with another manager and how he failed to choose Simi in a music contest he staged years back.

He added that while he was still deciding if he was going to sign Teni, he lost her to faster people.

Don Jazzy said "I can't say I turned them down. For Falz, the working situation wasn't just right. I run a firm that could handle almost everything he needed.

"But I think he had like a management company set up already. It was like Tiwa Savage's but I had to grow into that kind of scenario where I had to handle someone that had a record label, some blueprint process.

"I equally didn't reject Simi. I did a Twitter contest for 'Journey of A Thousand Miles'. I also loved her cover because she was one of the people that participated but she didn't win.

"I didn't pick the winners. I liked her but you can't sign anybody. That's one person I also regretted, I won't say regret. But I wish we worked on stuff together. The same thing with Teni. We used to check up on each other.

"I had not grown to the point that I would move you from Atlanta to Nigeria for work. Now I can and we work before deciding if we are going to sign. Before I knew what was happening, there were faster people.

"She released records and I was like, 'okay, we lost that one'. Three hot stars. The only person I didn't want to sign was Davido I didn't want to sign him but I knew he was going to be huge. They have money already now,"

‘Doctor Couldn’t Find Their Heartbeats’, Adesua Etomi Narrates How She Lost Her Twin Pregnancy (Video)

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 05:00 AM PDT

Adesua Etomi-Wellington, a Nigerian star actress and wife to popular R&B musician, Banky W, has narrated her struggles to get pregnant and how she lost her twin pregnancy in a revealing testimony.

The beautiful actress said she initially had troubles getting pregnant, however, lost her very first twin pregnancy when she eventually got pregnant. She revealed she was trolled and shamed before the pregnancy.

During her routine check-out while she was carrying the twins, she said she visited the hospital as usual, only for her to find out the babies in her womb were no more breathing. She said the doctor told her she couldn't find their heartbeats.

Adesua said she busted into laughter because she was confused and didn't know how to react when she was told the news. But when she got home, she started wailing and filled with sadness.

In her words;

"We got pregnant with twins and we had gone for the scans and we had seen the heartbeats. At this point, very few people know when this happened. Every report you have heard is a lie because nobody knew when it happened. We saw the heartbeat and everything was okay.

"During a routine checkup, we went back to the hospital to have a scan, and I just saw the doctor's face ― you know when something is wrong; sometimes you can tell. The doctor was scanning, and I asked, 'what is wrong' but she said nothing.

"I looked at the nurse's face and she looked a bit funny too. I asked what was wrong, and she said, 'Adesua, I am looking for the heartbeat.' I asked, 'for two of them?' And she said yes. I am actually not going to lie, I started laughing because it did not make any sense to me. I was like, 'what do you mean you can't find the heartbeat of both?' She said 'Yes'. Banky was not home at the time, so I went home and I remember being in our living room. When I was at the hospital I was laughing; I was like 'God knows'.

Adesua added, "When I got home, I literally collapsed on the floor and I wailed. Wailing is not the same thing as crying. Wailing is a deep groaning in your chest. It is like a nut that you cannot get rid of. I am sharing this because so many women go through this but nobody talks about it because it is almost like a thing of shame for whatever reason and I don't know why, because you don't control your body; you don't create yourself.

"I want to give a shout out to every single woman that has gone through IVF. I know what you have gone through. I have veins in my hand that no longer work; they are so traumatized that you cannot get blood out of them. IVF is a very tasking thing ― emotionally and physically on your body, mentally it is very tough.

"It was very tough; it was very hard. I was going through it while going through the fact that every day I will hear one rumour or the other. Some said I was barren, some said my husband was impotent or I had done something to my womb. It was very hard, but I am saying this because I promised God that I would and there is nothing anybody can do to make me shut up about the goodness of God.

"It is funny how we can accept that the other organs might need help; you can get a heart transplant, you can get help with your kidneys, but when it comes to the reproductive organs, it is like a dirty topic nobody wants to talk about. I think it is really important that we talk about it.

Adesua made all these known during a chat at The Waterbrook Studio while sharing the testimony of God's goodness.

Banky W and Adesua welcomed their first child earlier, a baby boy christened Zaiah, this year.

Six years after heated aggression with revered rapper Olamide at the 2015 Headies Awards, music executive Don Jazzy has come forward to clear the air, stating that he meant no harm in his comments.

Recall, Olamide and Don Jazzy quarreled after Reekado Banks, who was signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records, won the Next Rated award ahead of Lil Kesh, who was signed to Olamide's YBNL Nation.

Both Olamide and Don Jazzy said some spiteful words to themselves. Olamide threatened to beat up Don Jazzy, while the latter asked the former to come collect the car prize that was attached to the Next Rated award.

In a recent interview with Ebuka, Don Jazzy finally explained his statement. He noted he uttered all he said on stage jokingly, with no malicious intention.

The respected producer also faulted Headies Awards' organiser for calling him immediately after Olamide's outburst on stage. Don Jazzy said he would have collected the award and left, but the atmosphere was still hot, he had to react, hoping to suppress the pressure.

Banky W And Adesua Testify Of How They Struggled With Having A Child

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 03:00 AM PDT

Banky W and Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared parts of their journey towards having a child.

The couple revealed how they lost a set of twins, went through failed IVF processes, waited endlessly for a child until they got blessed with their baby boy, Zaiah in January 2021.

The new parents shared their testimony in church on Sunday, April 4.

Adesua while telling their story of triumph, said they got married in 2017 and wanted to quickly have their kids. However, that didn't happen as the babies weren't forthcoming.

"We got married in 2017 after Banky had disturbed my life and I was like okay, let's marry.

We had planned our lives out and we were like this is what is going to happen, we would be so busy so we might as well get the children out of the way. Lets do it now and just let it come through.  And then nothing happened.

And then we tried and nothing happened. And I remember having a conversation with Banky and I was like, lets go do IVF. Banky was like calm down, it hasn't even been a year. Give it a year.

A year came. When it was 11 months and a couple of days, I was like hey, how far? It's been a year. Let's go try IVF. And we prayed about it. We did pray and by the grace of God we got pregnant with twins"

Adesua said in the first year of their marriage it was a monthly cycle of disappointment as she expected to miss her period and get pregnant. She also mentioned that she suffered severe trolling from people online who constantly asked her to go and get pregnant.

"It was like a monthly disappointment and anyone would tell you that when you want a child, even one month or two months seem like such a long time talkless of people that have waited for years and years. So, it was constant disappointment and trying to stay in the place of faith  and knowing that you serve a God that doesn't lie and knowing that you serve a God that can do it but for some reason, he is just really kind of slow in your opinion.

We got pregnant with our son after two and a half years and I can tell you that every single day of those two and a half years, someone trolled me…..everyday. I couldn't have an opinion without someone say 'go and born'. I couldn't say anything without someone say 'get out… go and have a child, you are barren, you did something with your womb. I heard all soughts"

While celebrating women who have gone through IVF, Adesua said she went through the process so much that she now has veins in her hands that no longer work because they are so traumatized that they can't bring out blood anymore.

"So we got pregnant with twins and we had gone for the scan and we had seen the heartbeats. During a routine checkup, we went back to the hospital to have a scan and I just saw the doctor's face.

You know when something is wrong, sometimes you can tell. She was scanning and I was like what is wrong and she was like oh no nothing. And I looked at the nurse's face and she looked a bit funny two and I was like what's wrong? She was like Adesua, I am looking for the heartbeat. And I said for two of them? And she said yes.

I started laughing because it didn't make any sense to me. And so I went home and I remember being in our living room, I literally collapsed on the floor and I wailed. Wailing is not the same thing as crying. Wailing is a deep groaning in your chest"

Adesua said she and Banky decided over the weekend after the scan to pray to God since nothing is impossible with him. They went back to the hospital believing that God would come through.

Speaking to the point when he teared up, Banky said

"We went back to the hospital for the scan and not only did we not see heartbeats, the embryos were shrinking. They were decaying and they were dying. This was towards the end of the first trimester. It was a tough time.

When we found out we were losing them and we had to do an evacuation, it was a very emotional time and she cried.

Let me tell you, women are stronger than men. Crying is not a sign of weakness, but as a man you know you have been raised to be like you are the man, you have to be strong, you can't shed a tear.

So she is feeling a certain way and I am trying to be there for her and I am just there holding her and saying it is going to be okay.

But the day that we cried together was the day of the evacuation and evacuation is when they remove the dead embryos. We went to the hospital, we did the procedure and Adesua is one of the strongest people that I know but I had never seen her so frail and in so much pain, emotional and physical. For somebody like me whose love language is acts of service, its helping and fixing the problem, there was absolutely nothing I could do at that time.

We came home from the hospital and I remember I led her up the stairs and we got on the couch and I held her in my arms and we cried. I will say it again. It is okay to cry."

Adesua said they did their second IVF and this one failed as it didn't even produce an embryo. She said the doctors at the time told her that she had Polycystic Ovary syndrome while Banky W's sperm morphology was not right.

Banky and Adesua said they got pregnant miraculously while taking part in the Nathaniel Bassey Halleluyah challenge.

Prince Harry ‘Wants Apology’ From The Royal Family Over Treatment Of Meghan Markle

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 01:30 AM PDT

A royal expert claims Prince Harry has demanded "an apology" from the Royal Family over what he perceives as the mistreatment of his wife, Meghan Markle.

One of the main bones of contention is over an alleged racist comment made by one member of the Royal Family regarding the skin colour of Harry and Meghan's baby, Archie before he was born.

Oprah Winfrey later said the comment wasn't made by the Queen herself or Prince Philip.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also claimed that Meghan, who admitted that she had suicidal thoughts when pregnant with Archie, was denied help with her mental health.

And a source has now reportedly told Us Weekly magazine that Prince Harry is demanding an apology from the family in the UK.

The source claimed: "The problem with Harry is that he's hooked on being right and regardless of saying he wants to move on from this.

"He won't back down until he gets some form of apology from his family."

Piers Morgan Asks Meghan To Name ‘Royals Who Rejected Her Requests For Help After Claiming She Was Suicidal’

Posted: 07 Apr 2021 01:00 AM PDT

Controversial TV host, Piers Morgan has asked Meghan Markle to reveal the names of the royals who rejected her requests for help after claiming she was suicidal.

Markle made the comments about her mental health during an interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired last month.

The 39-year-old wife of Prince Harry claimed she was suicidal and asked for help but she had been told by a royal that she would not be able to seek help as it "wouldn't be good for the institution."

Also in the Winfrey interview, the Duchess of Sussex said there had been conversations about their unborn son, what color his skin would be and "what that would mean or look like."

Following the bombshell interview, Morgan said he "didn't believe a word" Meghan said during a broadcast the day after the interview aired.

He got a lot of criticisms following his comments leading to his eventually demise from the Good Morning Britain show.

Speaking in an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired on Monday April 5, on Fox News, Morgan said; "You're accusing two people in the palace of being unspeakably cruel simply to protect the brand of the Royal family, if that is true let's have the names of these people and let's go to them and ask them is this true," Piers told Carlson.

"'Did you tell a suicidal woman, who told you she was suicidal, not to get help?' – because I find that impossible to believe."

Prior to the interview, Morgan had promised that he would "go nuclear" in his "tell-all" to Fox News..

Morgan added that "we don't know the context, we don't know what was said."

He added that Markle was "accusing the Queen and the Monarchy and the institution as being racist," adding "that's really what was going down here."

Piers said that if the question was as "innocent" as somebody saying "given Meghan's father is white, her mother's black, what color would the baby be" that he believes this would be an "innocent question."

However, he said that if it were "loaded with a sense of derogatory tone or concern, then it becomes racism."

Speaking about Markle's claims to Oprah that Archie was banned from being prince after royals questioned how "dark skinned" he would be, Piers blasted that this is "completely untrue."

"It's not just a sense of her lived experience being untrue, it is factually incorrect. That boy was never going to be a prince until Prince Charles, Harry's father, becomes king on the death of the Queen.

"And that's gonna happen whatever the skin color of Archie's mother, that's set-in-stone – it's been the case for 100 years."

Piers added: "So for Meghan Markle to try and create a story that says that the decision to not make Archie the title of prince was based on his skin color is a lie."

Morgan then questioned whether Markle was "deliberately lying" or "completely delusional" before claiming that he does not care.

He added that Markle is claiming that the Queen is a racist.

"It's not really about Meghan Markle -she's a delusional duchess who wants to make millions off the royals while trashing family – It's really about free speech.

"What happened to me is happening all over Britain and America – I can take it, but there are many people who don't have our platform who are being wiped out, lives destroyed, careers ended for ridiculous things."

Fox news host Tucker Carlson also asked Morgan how he felt when he heard his former colleague and friend Don Lemon call him a racist following his refusal to believe Meghan Markle's interview.

Morgan replied: "I've seen Don Lemon at CNN – the guy who sits in my old office, who I thought was a friend – actually say on his show that I'd committed an act of racism.

"But disbelieving someone, that's an act of racism?"
