Nigerian man accuses Davido of stealing hit single ‘Jowo’ from singer Victor AD

Multiple award-winning singer, Davido has been accused of stealing his hit track 'Jowo' from his colleague in the music industry, Victor AD.

'Jowo' is a track off Davido's hit album 'A Better Time' and it has been well received by fans and lovers of good music across all streaming platforms.

However, a fan identified as Thuglife on Twitter claimed Davido stole the song.

The fan who seems to be sure of himself noted that Victor AD confronted Davido after he had stolen the hit song but he blocked him from all his social media pages and threatened to destroy him if he mentions it publicly.

He tweeted:


This accusation is coming out just when Davido is celebrating his tenth years in the music industry.

Adele’s Estranged Dad, Mark Evans, Dies Aged 57 After Battle With Cancer

Mark Evans, estranged dad to Grammy Award winning singer, Adele, has died at 57 after years of disputes and public rows.

Adele, 33, has previously spoken of her fractured relationship with dad who had been suffering from cancer.

Mark walked out on Adele's mother Penny when Adele was three and returned to his native Wales.

In 2017 Adele infamously told the audience during her Grammys speech;

"Thank you to my manager because the comeback, as it were, was completely masterminded by him.

"And you executed it incredibly, and I owe you everything.

"We've been together for ten years, and I love you like you're my dad. I love you so, so much.


"I don't love my dad, that's the thing. That doesn't mean a lot. I love you like I would love my dad."

Mark once claimed that he and his daughter had made up and shared a drink around the time of her Adele Live tour to support her ­second album 21. But she later denied this.

A source said: "Mark's family are of course very upset by his passing. He always hoped things would work out with Adele, but it remained acrimonious to the end.

"He made a few attempts to make things right, but clearly it had been too long."

In 2011, Mark said he had been a "rotten father" to the Set Fire To The Rain hitmaker.

He discussed his problem with alcoholism and their estranged relationship, adding: "I was deeply ashamed of what I'd become and I knew the kindest thing I could do for Adele was to make sure she never saw me in that state."

Following his interview with The Sun, the singer said she had no interest in speaking to him again.

She told Vogue Magazine: "I was actually ready to start trying to have a relationship with him again.

"He's f*****g blown it. He will never hear from me again.

"Because there is nothing that would upset me more than my dad being bribed by the press.

"It's like, 'Just let them run it, then. Don't you give them ammunition'."

In 2013 he revealed he was battling bowel cancer and feared he would never meet his grandson, Angelo — Adele's son with charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki, who she divorced in March.

Tom Cruise Returns All His Golden Globe Trophies As NBC Cancels HFPA’s Award Broadcast Over Lack Of Diversity

Seasoned actor, Tom Cruise has returned all three of his Golden Globe trophies.

This is coming after NBC canceled the HFPA's award broadcast for 2022 amid an outcry over lack of diversity.

The Mission Impossible star, 58, won Best Actor for Jerry Maguire in 1997, Best Actor for Born on the Fourth of July in 1990, and Best Supporting Actor for his role in Magnolia in 2000.

According to reports from Deadline, the action star has given back the three awards that he was given by the organisation because of its failure to reform its lack of diversity.

Tom is the latest in a growing list of actors and companies, including Netflix, Amazon, and NBC, that are protesting the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The backlash against the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which is comprised of a small group of international journalists that determine the nominees and winners of the Golden Globe Awards, began after a February report by the Los Angeles Times revealed the organization counted no Black journalists among its membership.


Scarlett Johansson, who has been nominated for four Golden Globes, also took a stance against the HFPA in urging her fellow industry members to take action.

Johansson, 36, said in a statement obtained by both Deadline and Variety that some of her own experiences with the HFPA led her to "[refuse] to participate in their conferences."

"As an actor promoting a film, one is expected to participate in awards season by attending press conferences as well as awards shows. In the past, this has often meant facing sexist questions and remarks by certain HFPA members that bordered on sexual harassment. It is the exact reason why I, for many years, refused to participate in their conferences," she said.

The two-time Oscar nominee went on to allege that the HFPA "was legitimized by the likes of Harvey Weinstein to amass momentum for Academy recognition and the industry followed suit."

Johansson concluded, "Unless there is necessary fundamental reform within the organization, I believe it is time that we take a step back from the HFPA and focus on the importance and strength of unity within our unions and the industry as a whole."

NBC said on Monday that it will not air the Golden Globes in 2022.

In a statement, the network said it believes the press association is committed to reform, and added: 'However, change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right.

'As such, NBC will not air the 2022 Golden Globes. Assuming the organization executes on its plan, we are hopeful we will be in a position to air the show in January 2023.'

The HFPA has vowed to implement 'transformational changes' after NBC cancelled plans to broadcast next year's Golden Globes.

In a statement, they said: 'Regardless of the next air date of the Golden Globes, implementing transformational changes as quickly — and as thoughtfully — as possible remains the top priority for our organisation.

'We invite our partners in the industry to the table to work with us on the systemic reform that is long overdue, both in our organisation as well as within the industry at large.'

Award winning singer, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, known professionally as Lizzo, has  opened up to fans in an emotional new TikTok video, about "feeling sad" while confessing that she also feels "like a burden to everyone."

The 33-year-old entertainer tearfully explained, "You know that part of sadness where you feel like a burden on everyone, and annoying, and nobody cares about you?" she asked aloud before letting out a sigh. "Can we get rid of that part? It's like, 'Yo, I'm already sad,'" she continued. "Gotta add insult to injury that I have no one to talk to about it. It's crazy. Like, why do we feel this way? Why do we feel this way when we get sad?"

She went on to say, "I don't want to feel this way anymore. I want to feel like I do have someone to talk to and people do care about me," she said before the superstar reminded herself that, "I am loved. I'm not alone. That's how I want to feel, but I don't feel it." "OK, this is embarrassing," she said before ending the emotional and candid video. Although Lizzo didn't share exactly what was making her feel so down, she did give a hint of it in a follow-up video shared to TikTok later on Saturday, in which she said she was feeling a bit better:

Billboard Music Awards Announces Drake Is The “Artist Of The Decade”

The recipient of an artist of the decade award has been awarded to Drake.

He will receive the top honor at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.T he 34-year-old Canadian rapper will be honored with the Artist of the Decade Award at the ceremony, which is broadcasting live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23.

Drake, who holds the title for most Billboard Music Awards with 27, is receiving the award after being ranked the best-performing artist of the last 10 years, based on activity on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums tally, as well as social media data and touring revenue from Billboard Boxscore, from Dec. 5, 2009, through Sept. 28, 2019.

Some of his most impressive stats include being the only solo male with more than 50 career weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and having nine No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, the most of the decade of any artist.

The Canadian rapper is also up for seven awards in standard categories (Top Radio Song; Top Male Artist; Top Billboard 200 Artist; Top Hot 100 Artist; Top Streaming Songs Artist; Top Rap Artist; Top Streaming Song).

At the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, which will be hosted by Nick Jonas, Pink will receive the distinguished Icon Award.

Actress Ifemeludike – “It’s ignorant how we expect poor people to live a righteous life in this country”

Nollywood actress, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike has reflected on the current situation in Nigeria as she comes to the conclusion that it is not plausible to expect poor people to live righteous lives.

She took to her Instagram page to write that Christians aren't telling themselves the truth about the reality on the ground and why many people have not given their lives to Christ.

Nollywood actress and comedienne,  Etinosa Idemudia's marriage to her Benin city-based lawyer hubby, Ighorosa, has crashed.

The controversial media personality took to her Instagram page on Saturday, May 8, 2021, where she called out a popular blogger for announcing the crash of her marriage and breaking the news of her pregnancy months ago.

"This 'old witch' again! I really do not want to reply you but I feel you will never stop if I ignore. You were the first person to publicise my pregnancy that was barely trying to survive past the first trimester due to its complication. I kept quiet," she wrote.


"Now you have come again and I know you have receipts and you won't dare us to deny. I don't blame you, it's the close friend, the insider who is feeding you. May God forgive that person."

It would be recalled that the actress got married in September 2020, to a Benin-based lawyer.

AKA Responds To Reports Of ‘Violence And Drugs’ In His Relationship With Late Fiancée, Nelli Tembe

South African rapper, AKA, has reacted to alleged "violence and drugs" in his relationship with his late fiancée Nelli Tembe.

AKA issued a public statement in response to the allegations. The statement comes after News24 released images where "AKA can be seen using his hands to violently break down a wooden door to enter the bedroom in their apartment in Bryanston, Johannesburg where Tembe was hiding".

A close friend of Tembe, who spoke with the publication, said Tembe told her that the rapper smashed her face against a wall during a fight in their apartment after which she locked herself in the bedroom.


"She then sent me the video of the attack. AKA is so violent in the video that he breaks down the door of the room that Anele had locked herself in, whilst escaping his blows, with his bare hands. This is an attack that I want women to be shielded from." the woman, who requested anonymity out of fear of intimidation, wrote in a statement to News 24.

The incident allegedly took place on March 13.

The friend has also provided the video to Cape Town police, who are conducting an inquiry into her death.

She said in a statement to police: In the past few weeks, following the passing of my close friend Anele Tembe, I have been meditating and seeking guidance on what it is that I am to do in order to exercise my rights and to deliver on my responsibilities as a young adult in a country that fails to adequately protest its women and girls. The responsibility that I have is towards the many women and girls in this country, especially young women such as myself, who remain impressionable.


"Anele Tembe, who was dating and later became engaged to Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes, was a victim of severe violence at the hands of AKA, Anele was on numerous occasions physically and emotionally abused by AKA. My beloved friend was a victim of gender-based violence (GBV). As women, we are too quiet about the abuse that is happening behind closed doors. We must speak out! I am today speaking out."

According to the woman, Tembe recorded her fiance breaking down the door in their Bryanston apartment. He had allegedly smashed her face against a wall during a fight, and she ran to the bedroom to escape. Tembe allegedly gave the footage to her friend, who also came to her rescue after the attack.

"Anele, on many nights, south protection from those close to her whenever AKA, whom she said became extra violent whenever he had taken drugs, attacked her, We often picked up Anele from AKA's house in the early hours of the morning following endless attacks on her by AKA."the friend said.


"Anele reported the incident to me. She then sent the video of the attack, " she added.

In one of the photos obtained by News 24, Tembe appeared in pain while placing ice packs on her body after allegedly being assaulted on March 13.

On Saturday afternoon May 8, AKA released a statement on Twitter, describing his relationship with Tembe as "beautiful, yet challenging, and saying he would not be drawn into exposing their troubles as a couple to defend himself against "one-sided views".

He also slammed allegations that "drug use and incidents of violence" plagued the couple's relationship, labelling the reports an "attempt to disparage his name and Anele's character". 


"What makes it even sadder is the knowledge that some of the people, she and I loved and entrusted with our deepest troubles, are now using those as weapons to set a negative narrative on my character.

"I am a passionate and emotional person. What I will not do and stand for is watching people attempt to disparage my name and, importantly, Anele's to suit a narrative we both never signed up for," said AKA.

Nelli died on April 11 after apparently falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub hotel in Cape Town. Her death is being investigated by police.

At Nelli's funeral on April 16, her father and prominent businessman Moses Tembe moved to set the record straight on circumstances surrounding her death.

"As Anele's father, I categorically state that Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide. We must as a matter of priority deal with the scourge that bedevils our youth. Alcohol which is overused and drugs. Fellow South Africans we better wake up and smell the coffee, we have a serious problem with substance abuse.

"I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged, a narrative that irks me to no end … that is 'Anele was chronically suicidal'. All I can say is, until Anele turned 21, not a single member of her family, my family would have associated her with suicide," he said.

Murdered Rapper, Pop Smoke Was “Killed” By 15-Year-Old Shooter- Detective Testifies

Pop Smoke was gunned down by a 15-year-old shooter who ambushed the Brooklyn rapper in Los Angeles in February 2020 with a group of teens bent on stealing his diamond-studded Rolex, a detective testified Friday.

According to the New York Daily News, the home intruders who stormed the Canarsie-bred rapper's Airbnb rental in the Hollywood Hills also were after his Cuban link chain but only managed to swipe the luxury timepiece, which they later resold for just $2,000, the investigator said.

LAPD Det. Carlos Camacho testified during a preliminary hearing for suspect, Corey Walker, 20, that the unnamed 15-year-old defendant admitted to pulling the trigger during a recorded interview with a cellmate last May at a juvenile detention center.

"[The teen] admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Baretta 9 [mm.]," Camacho told the court.

"They got into a fight, and he shot him three times," Camacho said the interview reveals.

"He said he shot him on the back. He said that when the individuals got inside, the suspects confronted [Pop Smoke], who was in the shower naked."

Camacho also testified that Walker admitted his role in the slaying as well to an informant who was placed in his cell following his July 2020 arrest.

Walker was recorded telling the informant they wore ski masks and commanded the rapper to take off his jewelry. Pop reportedly initially started to comply, to which the intruders told him "Thank you." However, according to Walker, the rapper then fought back. He rushed robbers but was pistol-whipped before being shot by the 15-year-old.

They were only able to make off with one of Pop's expensive watches, which they later sold for $2,000, investigators say.

During the hearing, Walker's defense attorney, Christopher Darden, argued for murder charges against his client to be dropped, saying Walker only drove the car to the home and was not directly involved with the robbery or killing. Judge H. Clay Jacke II denied Darden's request and Walker pleaded not guilty. Walker is due back in court for rearrangement on June 3.

The alleged shooter, the youngest of the four defendants, is now facing murder and robbery charges in the case.
 
On Thursday, Det. Christian Carrasco testified that a woman who was with Pop Smoke in the home recalled seeing a group of men enter through a second-story balcony accessible by a backyard staircase.

The woman claims the intruders breached the home through a second-floor balcony, put a gun to her head, and told her "Shut the fuck up. Do you want to die?"

"She heard a struggle coming from the shower area and heard Mr. Jackson screaming," Detective Carrasco said.

"Mr. Jackson ran out of the bathroom and then she heard a loud pop and [heard] Mr. Jackson fall to the ground." Carrasco also testified the woman said two of the intruders kicked Pop after he was shot.

Walker is due back in court for rearrangement on June 3. If convicted as charged, he could face death penalty.

Bose Ogulu Reacts To Reports That Burna Boy Received Millions From Wike

Singer, Burna Boy's manager and mother has reacted to reports that Burna Boy received N10m from Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Recall that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State had during a homecoming ceremony for Burna Boy, after his Grammy win, promised to gift him land and money as an appreciation for winning the Grammy Awards.

Ghanaian Highlife singer, Morris Baby Face, who is now known as Morris De Voice when he switched to singing gospel, has made a stunning confession about the lifestyle he lived before.

Morris in his appearance on gospel TV program 'Restoration With Stacy', confessed to having multiple sex partners and also revealed to sleeping with about three to four girls in a day and over 200 women before repenting.

He said;

"At a point, I realized being a womanizer wasn't a good thing. I knew my mother was praying for me for a change of mind and direction but I came to the realization that it all depended on me and I could die at any time.

Morris said he repented following a revelation about hell. He disclosed that he saw people suffering and that was enough for him to give his life to Christ.

Sources disclosed that the Oscar winner has been spotted many times going to J.Lo's California home during the day,  after having been picked up in a white Escalade SUV that allegedly belongs to Lopez and then taken to her nearby mansion.

While the pair have not been spotted together, a source told Page Six, "Security picks him up at a nearby location and drops him off after spending a few hours at her house."

Affleck, 48, has allegedly visited Lopez, 51, three times since she returned to Los Angeles from shooting her new film, "Shotgun Wedding," in the Dominican Republic.

But sources close to the stars tell us they are just friendly and have remained so over the years.
 
An insider said: "They are friends … they've never not been."


Page Six reported that Lopez was spotted out to dinner with Rodriguez on April 23 at the Hotel Bel-Air, the same spot where the exes went on their first date back in 2017. She owns a $28 million mansion nearby.

But A-Rod wasn't the only former fiancé Lopez has allegedly seen since she got back in town.

Sources told us that Affleck was spotted at the same hotel a day before J.Lo saw A-Rod, on April 22, being dropped off by a white SUV — which later drove Lopez and a business associate to a business meeting.

Days later, on April 28, Affleck was allegedly seen coming out of Lopez's Bel Air home, sources said.

He was spotted again the next day, April 29, dropping his car at the Hotel Bel-Air in the morning and being picked up by the same white Escalade to go to J.Lo's home. About 3½ hours later, the same white SUV dropped him back at the hotel's valet, sources said.

Affleck was photographed exiting the white SUV in a T-shirt, jeans and sneakers, with a green backpack. He was also photographed leaving his car at the hotel.

Affleck and Lopez were engaged in 2002, and famously dubbed "Bennifer" by the media. But they postponed their wedding in 2003. They split months later in January 2004. Lopez has called the breakup with Affleck "probably my first big heartbreak."

J.Lo has been seeing famous friends after her breakup with Rodriguez. "When you're that famous, who are you going to talk to? People who you know, other famous people," a source said.

Lopez has reportedly been leaning on another ex, Marc Anthony, in the wake of the split, and has also seen her longtime friend Leah Remini.

Reps for Affleck and Lopez did not comment.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu To Host BBNaija Season 6

Popular Nigerian TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, is set to return as the host of Big Brother Naija season six reality television show.

Sharing the news, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu released a picture on his verified Instagram account and took to the caption section to announce to his 2.7 million followers that he returns as the host of the popular reality television show.
 
He wrote, "Well, guess who's returning as the host of the next season of #BBNaija. Let's go again guys!!!"

Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise.

The show began to air in Nigeria from March 5 to June 4, 2006, and its main presenters were Olisa Adibua and Michelle Dede. However, it was put on hold till January 22, 2017. When it resurfaced Obi-Uchendu, who was a contestant in the maiden edition became the host of the show. He holds the position to date.

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, a Twitter user suggested that Obi-Uchendu should be replaced with Frank Edoho, an established presenter who hosted the popular TV game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire for 13 years.


The tweet read, "Ebuka don eat small, make him allow another person chop! Frank Edoho as BBNaija host for this season won't be a bad choice tho. Eviction night go choke gan!!!"(sic)

The suggestion sparked a debate, especially on Twitter. To quell the debate, Edoho tweeted, "What did Ebuka do to deserve all this? Why would you want to change someone that has done a show successfully for only three years and have him replaced with one who did WWTBAM for 13 years? Leave Ebuka alone! Please."

The popular reality TV show has topped previous seasons as its organisers, MultiChoice has announced a grand prize of N90m.

Davido has reacted after being snubbed by his colleagues on his 10th anniversary in music

Fans of Nigerian sensational singer, Davido Adeleke popular called Davido, celebrated him few days ago as he celebrated his 10th year in music and on stage.

A few of his friends, including celebrity barman Cubana Chiefpriest, took to social media to hail the singer for his contribution to the music industry and for bringing other young artists to the limelight.

However, a Twitter user identified as wande noticed that many of Davido's colleague completely snubbed him on the occasion of his 10th anniversary in the music industry.

According to the Twitter user, most of the accolades Davido got for his 10th anniversary came from his fans as most of his colleagues were all acting blind.

Responding to this, the sensational singer made a joke of the situation, saying not being congratulated or celebrated by his colleague is not a topic for discussion.

BBNaija’s Bisola Aiyeola Responds To Reno Omonkri After He Said He Has No Sympathy For Single Mothers

In a heated post shared on his Twitter page, controversial writer, Reno Omokri, has once again taken to social media to blast women but this time focusing on single mothers.

Reno said that he has zero sympathy for baby mamas.

Reno had tweeted: 'Except she was raped, or widowed, I have zero sympathy for single mothers. The Black world faces a baby mama epidemic. We must not encourage it, or make celebrities out of bleached, surgically enhanced Jezebels who are unashamed of their whoredom!"

And BBNaija reality star, Bisola Aiyeola, who is a single mother has hit back at him.

Bisola, a mum-of-one, responded: "Sir you're just giving yourself headache. Single mothers gan no rate you. Saint Reno."
