The mouthwatering heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will take place in a purpose-built stadium in Saudi Arabia, according to Eddie Hearn.

This comes days after the boxing promoter confirmed the fight will take place in Saudi Arabia on August 14.

Hearn has shared more updates on the upcoming fight, revealing that plans are in place for an entirely new venue to stage the fight for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Iniubong Umoren’s killer is not dead- Akwa Ibom police commissioner says

The Commissioner for Police in Akwa Ibom state, Andrew Amiengheme, has dismissed reports claiming that Mr. Uduak Ezekiel Akpan, the suspected killer of job seeker, Miss Iniubong Umoren, committed suicide in its police custody.

Reports that 20-year Akpan, who allegedly lured Miss Umoren with a job offer and subsequently raped and killed her, had committed suicide, was rife online today. The reports claim that he committed suicide with his trousers tied to metal after having his meal.

Dismissing the report, the state police boss in an interview with The Nation, said

"It is not true that Uduak Akpan has committed suicide. The suspect is in our custody. Maybe he committed suicide in the bedrooms of those peddling the rumour."

Genevieve Nnaji asserted that prayer is very important as sometimes people's path to greatness is often altered by those who have derailed from theirs.

Sound Sultan, real name Olanrewaju Fasasi, has debunked the fake news that was shared widely on Wednesday, claiming he was ill with throat cancer.

The 44 year-old musician in a post on Instagram Thursday wished muslim brothers and sisters Eid Mubarak.

Then he addressed the fake news, by thanking fans for the "massive" show of love, adding, "I will tell you my story myself it will be true THEN not false".

Meanwhile, the singer's senior brother Baba Dee has debunked reports that Sound Sultan has throat cancer.

Baba Dee, also a singer, expressed surprise at the news, although he confirmed that Sound Sultan was ill.

"He is sick and he is getting better in New York. But throat cancer. Na lie," the man born Dare Fasasi wrote in the message published by QEDng.

Multiple media reports on Wednesday, May 12th, said Sound Sultan was diagnosed with throat cancer and undergoing chemotherapy in the US.

We will keep Baba Ijesha till court workers resume from strike – Lagos police commissioners tells Yomi Fabiyi and other protesters

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has said that actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka a.k.a Baba Ijesha will be kept in custody till the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria calls off its nationwide strike and courts resume so that he could be arraigned.

Odumosu said this in response to the protest Baba Ijesha's friend and colleague Yomi Fabiyi, and others held on Wednesday May 12 at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, for his release on bail.

The police commissioner also disclosed that Baba Ijesha has been held in custody based on legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions in the state Ministry of Justice, and after a prima facie case had been established against him.

He said;


"When they got the SCIID today (Wednesday), they were advised by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCIID, and he told them that we have done our work and sought legal advice from the Ministry of Justice and the advice was that we should still keep him in our custody.

"When we concluded our investigation, we forwarded our report to the ministry for legal advice. The ministry advised us through the Office of the Public Defender. The legal advice was that there was a prima facie case established against him and some sections of the law were quoted in the advice. So, the advice was that he should still remain in our custody and to be charged for that."

Also revealing that Baba Ijesha's continous detention will be reviewed if JUSUN strike continues indefinitely, the police chief further disclosed that court workers have agreed to work for three days and continue their strike on the remaining two working days of the week.

Yomi Fabiyi is not fazed by the legal documents Iyabo Ojo filed against him.

The actor had alleged that Iyabo Ojo and Princess "promised to kill Baba Ijesha if released on bail" after he was detained for allegedly sexually molesting Princess' underaged daughter.

In response, Iyabo's lawyers sued him, asked him to retract the statment, apologize, and pay 100 million Naira in damages.

Reacting to the lawsuit, Yomi reshared the same defamatory post that brought about the suit and told Iyabo that he doesn't dignify everyone with a response.

Recently, the price of foodstuffs has escalated, even a sachet of water cost N20.

The actor shared a photo of him drinking a sachet of water as he asked, what is left for a common man who can barely afford to pay his rent for his apartment and N2000 units of electricity?.
