| Catholic church sets to suspend Father Mbaka over clash with the Presidency Posted: 08 May 2021 12:30 AM PDT  The spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Father Ejike Mbaka has alleged that there's a move by the leadership of the Catholic diocese to shut down his ministry.The clergyman made this shocking announcement shortly after resurfacing after being declared missing. According to Mbaka, he was summoned by the Church leadership, led by Bishop Calistus Onaga over his recent comments pertaining to the Nnamdi Kanu and the presidency. He further revealed that the suspension would last for a period of one month. As he was told to remain indoors and reflect on himself during this period. Here's what he said; "How can they believe what others say, and they will not believe what the priest is saying? The emphasis is 'please, let me go to celebrate the mass', but they said 'no'. If a priest will request to celebrate mass and they say 'no', that means something is wrong. "Allow me to and celebrate mass for my people just for today, I won't even tell them that I am being punished, they said, No. I will just tell my members that I'm going for 30 days prayer, that after 30 days, we will come back and everybody will obey, they said, No. "I also begged them to appoint another priest to come and celebrate mass for you today, they also said No. "They didn't treat me in a pastoral way. I was asking 'am I being punished for what'? "They said it was a meeting, but even before I reached the Bishop's house, the conclusion has already been made. What happened to me was like the day I was shot on the road. "Unfortunately for them, even before the meeting, a woman was already going around bragging that the Bishop will call me for a meeting, and that I was going to leave my house here for 30 days, and that after the 30 days, I would be sent to Rome, and Adoration ministry will be closed. "In a time and cases like this, don't give me a punishment that will cause troubles for us because I'm not alone."  |

| Burna Boy - Grammy Award: I had to choose between greatness & death Posted: 07 May 2021 11:00 PM PDT  Grammy Award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has said he was able to achieve his recent successes on the global stage because he came to a point where he realized that it's either greatness or death.Speaking in a recent interview with GQ Magazine, he said: "Following several collaborations with foreign artistes of African heritage, I just made up my mind that I wanted it all. I wanted to be the greatest. That's when it hit me really hard that I had to do it. It was that or death.  I was not celebrating because of myself. It was almost as if I had broken a mental cycle of our people. Our people had been very mentally oppressed to feel like they could not do certain things, and that certain things were unreachable. Every day, I realise more that things are bigger than me. I have to think for a lot of people – basically a whole generation – before I think of myself."  |

While assuring herself of God's promises and words, the actress noted it is a dark birthday for her as she reminisces of her deceased brother, who is still lying in the morgue. | Child Rights Activists Demand Prosecution Of Yomi Fabiyi Over ‘Child Pornography’ Posted: 07 May 2021 06:00 AM PDT  The arrest of Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi for child pornography has been demanded by Child rights activists under the auspices of Advocates For Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN).This is coming after the actor's perceived defence of the embattled actor, Lanre Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, who can be seen in a viral video molesting a minor. Fabiyi had earlier warned his colleagues not to be in a hurry to crucify Baba Ijesha. He added that before castigating their colleague, they should ensure that law enforcement officers had done their investigation. In another post, he said his colleagues should allow the court to decide if Baba Ijesha was guilty. He further mentioned that many people were not privy to the CCTV video or the suspect's confession. But following the release of the footage on Sunday, Fabiyi shifted the blame to the victim's guardians, whom he said used the victim as bait to be molested so they could apprehend Baba Ijesha.  Fabiyi had subsequently called for a protest at the State Command, Ikeja on Wednesday to compel the arrest of Comedian Princess Adekoya, who is the foster mother of the 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by Baba Ijesha. However, the coordinator of ACVPN, Ebenezer Omejalile, described Fabiyi's protest as another mirage to sensationalism. In a statement on Tuesday, Omejalile said Fabiyi is not only a hypocrite but also a supporter of abusers of children. The advocate said the actor, after being bashed for asking for documentary evidence, had turned around and called for a protest after watching a video of Baba Ijesha sexually assaulting the 14-year-old. Omejalile, while condemning Fabiyi, said, "This same Yomi Fabiyi was the first to embark on an odious journey calling for the CCTV footage, if only he knew his onions so well, would he have demanded the CCTV footage? "Yomi Fabiyi and his cohorts by now should be cooling off behind bars for the distribution of child pornography. Yomi Fabiyi and his cohorts are enablers of rape/paedophile because, the popular saying that says 'Show me your friend and I will tell you who are', simply explains a lot. "It's very pathetic the confused Yomi Fabiyi actions so far are that of an Emperor who is categorically naked but still chose to dance to hallelujah chorus. "People of such characters should be blacklisted by all embassies from travelling to any part of the world."  |
| Prince Philip’s Cause Of Death Revealed Posted: 07 May 2021 05:30 AM PDT  Prince Philip's cause of death has been confirmed.The 99-year-old royal died of "old age," according to The Telegraph, which reportedly obtained his death certificate. The death was certified by Sir Huw Thomas, the head of the royal medical household and the physician to the Queen. Typically, the term "old age" is acceptable as a cause of death if the patient is over 80 years old and if the physician has personally cared for them over a long period, The Telegraph reported. Sir Huw Thomas has been caring for the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth since 2014. Philip, who would have turned 100 in June, had been plagued by health issues in recent years after retiring from his public duties in August 2017.  He abruptly canceled his appearance at the traditional Maundy church service that he was scheduled to attend with the monarch in March 2018. Philip also skipped Easter Sunday services that year ahead of the announcement that he underwent hip replacement surgery. The royal had a car accident in January 2019 that resulted in him voluntarily giving up his license. That December, he was hospitalized in relation to a "pre-existing condition," the palace said at the time. He was again admitted to King Edward VII hospital on Feb. 16 to undergo a few days of observation and rest after "feeling unwell" and being "treated for an infection," according to Buckingham Palace. This resulted in the prince's longest ever hospital stay: 28 days. A funeral was held for Philip on April 17. Philip is survived by Queen Elizabeth, his wife of 73 years, their daughter Princess Anne and their three sons: next-in-line-to-the-throne Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, including Prince William and Prince Harry, and nine great-grandchildren, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie, and Princess Eugenie's new baby boy, August, whose middle name is Philip.  |
| Yomi Fabiyi Makes Another Call For The Prosecution Of All Adults In The CCTV Footage Posted: 07 May 2021 05:00 AM PDT  Actor Yomi Fabiyi has again called for the punishment of the adults who arranged to catch actor Baba Ijesha red handed by inviting him over seven years after he allegedly molested comedian Princess' 14-year-old daughter.Yomi took to his IG page this morning, and said that any government official, lawyer, Human rights worker, diplomat, member of the bench, and others, that only see the sexual assault of Baba Ijesha but fail to see the "crime" committed by the adults who organized the re-enactment of the molestation and captured it on CCTV, are "tragedies to the honest justice system."  In his post, Yomi said a petition is currently on the way to the office of the Governor of Lagos state and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly. He said he will be supplying the laws that will be used to indict, arrest and prosecute the adults which would include illegal adoption. Read his post below    |
| Tristan Thompson Reacts To Cheating Claims, Threatens To Sue Posted: 07 May 2021 04:30 AM PDT  Basketball player, Tristan Thompson has sent a cease and desist letter to Instagram model, Sydney Chase amid cheating claims and has threatened to sue her for defamationThe NBA player said Sydney Chase's claim that they "hooked up" in January and he spoke to her last in April is a lie. He's also threatening to sue if she continues making the claim. Tristan, who is back with Khloe Kardashian, had his attorney, Marty Singer, send a cease and desist letter to Sydney Chase. In the letter, obtained by TMZ, Marty Singer calls Sydney's allegations "malicious defamatory fabrications," adding, "Mr. Thompson had no relationship with you whatsoever and he never sent you any such texts." Singer goes on to accuse Chase of making up quotes from Tristan and having no proof to back up her claims, and blasts her by saying, "It is obvious that you are a liar." The letter concludes by saying if Chase doesn't stop "defaming" Thompson in the media or online, "you do so at your peril since you may find yourself in court attempting to defend your indefensible misconduct." Thompson's attorney also sent a cease and desist letter to Adam22, host of the "No Jumper" podcast on which Sydney Chase initially made the cheating allegations. "No Jumper" has already removed the portion of Sydney's interview where she talks about the alleged fling. As for Sydney Chase, she isn't backing down. She responded to Tristan's legal threat, saying she has not received a cease and desist letter. She adds, "Let this be a lesson to not let anyone no matter the money or fame they have, to shut you down or tarnish your name."  |

| S3xual Assault: Baba Ijesha risks life imprisonment as Lagos Govt moves to file charges Posted: 07 May 2021 03:00 AM PDT  Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James popular known as Baba Ijesha could be sentenced to life imprisonment as the Lagos government moves to charge him for sexual assault by penetration, among other crimes.In a statement on Tuesday, Moyosore Onigbanjo, the state commissioner for justice, said the state's directorate of public prosecutions has recommended five charges "after due consideration of the facts in the case file." According to the statement, " Olanrewaju James also known as Baba Ijesha to be charged under section 135 – indecent treatment of a child- punishable by seven years imprisonment; section 137 – defilement of a child – punishable by life imprisonment; section 261– sexual assault by penetration – punishable by life imprisonment; section 262- attempted sexual assault by penetration – punishable by 14 years imprisonment and section 263 – sexual assault- punishable by three years imprisonment. "While the state would ensure 'James' rights as enshrined in the constitution are upheld, the Ministry of Justice would not relent in its efforts at ensuring that whoever sexually abuses any resident of Lagos is speedily brought to book.   |
