“Is her name Seyi? Japa!” Wumi Toriola shades former friend Seyi Edun

Yoruba actress, Wumi Toriola is back to shading her former friend and colleague, Seyi Edun.

Wumi took to Instagram to leave a comment insinuating that Seyi is the type of friend who insults you in private then acts like all is fine in public.

"They will inject you in private then act like nothing happened in public. Is her name Seyi?" Wumi wrote in a comment posted on Instagram.


Wumi and Seyi used to be best of friends until 2020 when Wumi started throwing shades online.

Wumi had called out Seyi for only celebrating her online on her birthday while doing nothing for her offline. She said she didn't only celebrate Seyi online on her own birthday but she also congratulated her offline yet she didn't get the same treatment from Seyi on hers.

She then shared a screenshot of her WhatsApp conversation with Seyi and said that having Seyi call her a beautiful soul in her birthday message to her on her social media page is an irony.

Then, in October 2020, Wunmi called out Seyi again for failing to acknowledge the birthday of her son, who turned one. She admitted that Seyi sent her son money but called her out for not posting a birthday message for him.

Wumi wrote at the time: "Never extend your beef with someone, to their kids. I am from this school of thought but my exceptions to this rule is KIDS… If you see anyone who extend hate to Kids,they are Murderers,Run from them,if they have the chance,they will poison you and kill you..i said what i said and when you see them in agony of what they caused them selves,DO NOT PITY them ..i said what i said ..call the police. Good morning."

Wumi then went on to shade Seyi Edun for not having a child yet, saying: "Nah so she dey do. I could remember wen her rival gave birth she no wish am kankan. You are now wondering yy she is facing the problem she is facing now. Nah oshonu she be"

When a follower cautioned her and asked her to stop shaming Seyi Edun, Wumi wrote: "Madam shaming stop looking for pity, we left that zone long ago, i was infertile for 8months, went through proceudres, ask Seyi who told her about infertility doctor, please stop that pity game, I did IUI 2 times, it didn't still take the passionate part of me, why extend a fight to kids, yes we have fallen out, but same kid you were rejoicing over his birth, you sent ajo on my son's birthday, yet you refuse a birthday message as test just because you are pitted, madam stop glorifying infertility, we have ll been there, don't lt waiting take your passion and compassion."

The PDP caucus of the National Assembly has asked Nigerians to ignore the ban by the Federal government and continue using their Twitter accounts as they will not be contravening any known law in the country or any international statute.

In a statement jointly signed by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the minority leader of the Senate and Honourable Ndudi Elumelu, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, the PDP caucus argued that the ban on Twitter favours criminal and terrorist elements, whose activities fester in an environment of suppressed information flow. They described the ban as draconian and unacceptable.

The statement in part reads

"The Joint Minority Caucus dismisses threats by the APC-led government to arrest and prosecute Nigerians using Twitter and calls on Nigerians to go ahead and use their Twitter as they would not be contravening any law in Nigeria or any international statute," the joint caucus said in the statement.

The Joint Minority Caucus recognizes the provisions of Articles 19 and 20 of the United Nations Charter on Fundamental Human Rights, which Nigeria is a signatory to, as well as provisions of Sections 39 and 36 (12) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), and notes that by these provisions no one will be violating any law for using Twitter in Nigeria.

As lawmakers, the Joint Caucus is pained by the anguish Nigerians, especially the youths, who find the use of Twitter as a means of livelihood and genuine social interaction, are passing through just because the APC-led Federal Government feels slighted that an individual's post, was deleted by Twitter for ethic violation.

The joint caucus, therefore, call on Nigerians to use various opportunities offered by technology and continue making use of Twitter since such does not violate any law in our country.

It is agonizing that Nigeria and Nigerians have been losing billions of naira on daily basis since the ban on Twitter. This is completely unacceptable as it is worsening the already biting economic hardship and frightening unemployment level in the country.

Moreover, the ban on Twitter in Nigeria appears to be in favour of criminal and terrorist elements, whose activities fester in an environment of suppressed information flow.

The Joint Minority Caucus sympathizes with the organized private sector, manufacturing and service providing companies, small and medium enterprises, online businesses owners and other hardworking entrepreneurs across the country, whose genuine business and means of livelihood have been crippled by the unwarranted ban on Twitter by the APC federal government.

It also identifies with our students, research-based organization, media houses, the organized civil society, faith-based organizations, community groups among others, whose information-based activities have been violently disrupted by the ban.

In the same vein, the Joint Caucus sympathizes with regional, states, local government as well as members of the international community, whose genuine and constructive activities have been crippled by the prohibition of twitter in Nigeria

It also identifies with traditional rulers, who have even found Twitter as a means of communicating with the constituents, especially in this era of insecurity in the country.

"The Joint Caucus vehemently berates the APC-led government for abandoning its duty of addressing the serious economic and security problems confronting our nation to rather focus on dissipating energy victimizing Nigerians over their disagreement with Twitter for deleting a post by an individual."
The Caucus counsels the Federal Government to swallow its pride, accept its misdoing and go and settle whatever issue it has with Twitter instead of this resort to inflicting pains on Nigerians.

Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has accused rival Tiwa Savage of placing a curse on her that she will not have a child, Igbere TV reports.

In an audio obtained by Pulse Nigeria on Tuesday, the Nigerian Idol judge recounted how both women almost came to fisticuff at a salon in Lekki, Lagos.

A video of the two women clashing and exchanging swear words had earlier gone viral on Tuesday.

According to Seyi, she was at the salon to get her hair done for her Idol's appearance on Sunday, June 13.

The 35-year-old said she felt tension in the salon and decided to walk over to say hi to Tiwa and they both exchanged pleasantries.

However, 20 minutes later, Seyi said Savage walked over to her and that was how the argument started.

Shay revealed she was shocked by the unexpected outburst stressed that Savage's beef with her was not about the #FvckYouChallenge verse she recorded in April 2019 as she confirmed that they have met each other more than twice since her #FvckYouChallenge and they exchanged pleasantries on all occasions.

"We've even entered private jet together, we've taken pictures together," Seyi said.

Seyi Shay also noted that the part she did not see on the trending video is where Tiwa said in Yoruba "Seyi you won't have a child I heard you are looking for a child, God will not give you a child because you have a bad spirit".

Tiwa was, however, seen in the video swearing that God should take her own son Jamil Balogun if she ever talked bad about Seyi Shay in the media.

Seyi said she felt hurt because Tiwa knew she had a miscarriage and used that to release the "venom" in her.

A short motherhood story;

It wasn't until when I got pregnant with my 2nd son, (5 whole years after my first) thats when I kinda got the hang of motherhood. When we moved Bk to Nigeria, my first son found it really difficult making that transition to a new school / environment, coming from a country that English wasn't their first language; hence, he disliked going to school and well, i eventually found out he was also being bullied in school. (every parents nightmare) yeaaa, that's not the story for today.

Anyways, One morning I was led to tell him some encouraging words, to motivate him to rise above any negativity but I was in such a hurry to send him off to school on time, that I forgot to say it to him For the rest of that day, I was sad and low spirited, worried all day about him. I felt he needed to hear from me so bad, my words of encouragement to lift him up but I didn't know how to get it across to him.

It was in that moment, I thought of leaving him a surprise note in his lunch pack the next day (I remember it was some corny joke ), he came Bk so happy and said he read it with his friends and they all laughed. From then on, I never stopped. It lifted his spirit and confidence level He looks forward to reading with his friends everyday and tells me their lunch time jokes when he gets back. Obviously my 2nd wanted in on the joke too, so as soon as he started reading I included him and his bestie

Singer Lyta's baby mama, Kemi Ayorinde, has once again taken to social media with a long rant about the father of her child.

Kemi in the posts shared on her Instastory channel recounted how she had played a significant role in the singer's life at a time when he was struggling to find his bearing in the industry.

She wrote:

"Lyta cried endlessly to me on phone calls about his career, not making money, not being able to feed his own family, not being able to do things for himself… He made me understand his public life, to his private life, the real him vs the people outsiders see."
The baby mama claimed that she had to step in and assist him financially at the time since they were still on good terms.

She, however, managed to tie the singer's struggles to the actions of his manager, Seyi Awongua.

Kemi explained that before she welcomed their child, Lyta was about to drop an EP and it was the first time in a while she would see him excited about anything.

Unfortunately, the project couldn't be released as she claimed Lyta came crying to her after his manager called off the project.

Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti's son Seun Kuti, has thrown a shade at Grammy award-winning singer, Wizkid.

In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, Kuti indirectly asked Wizkid to stop desist from claiming to be a Grammy nominee, because according to him, he does not deserve to be called a Grammy nominee.
 
He explained that he, Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Burna Boy, were the only Nigerian musicians to be nominated by the Grammy.

He also insisted that since Wizkid was featured in a song that won a Grammy award, he had no right to say he had won a Grammy for Nigeria, as the song belonged to American singer, Beyonce.

"There are only four artists in Nigeria (to have ever been) nominated for the Grammy, and I am one of them," Kuti added, directly under the video post.

A video has gone viral on social media in which a Nigerian man was heard lamenting after seeing a Rolls Royce similar to that of Davido randomly parked on the roadside in an area reportedly to be in Dubai.

The man could be heard saying the car was parked in the same space as other cars as he wondered why the likes of Davido and others who have it were fond of showing it off on social media.

He added that people were passing beside the car without showing any concern.

"Love & Hip Hop" couple, Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena are reportedly embroiled in a fight over child custody in their divorce case.

The pair are calling it quits after Erica who is pregnant with their second child filed for divorce.

TMZ reports that Safaree is willing to give Erica their primary home, however, he is denying her request to have primary custody of their daughter Safire, and their unborn child.

According to TMZ, the estranged pair are at odds over who will receive primary custody of their children.

The report says Safaree is willing to give his ex the house, but he has rejected Mena's request for primary custody. Instead, Safaree reportedly wants joint legal custody which will give him more rights in making decisions for their kids.

The reality star also reportedly said he "wants consistent and uninterrupted parenting and visitation with his kids." Safaree is willing to give up his rights to their current home as long as his name is removed from any financial liability.

As for some of their properties, he wants the cars and has asked to keep any and all personal property purchased during their year and a half marriage.

Safaree also confirmed that he rejected alimony but will honor whatever child support payment that the courts see fit.

Back in November 2020, Safaree "announced" online that he and his wife would be divorcing, but he quickly returned with an apology while calling his move immature.

Reacting to the ban, Trevor Noah, declared that the ban shows that when the most powerful person in a country is angry with any social media platform, he can stop others from using.

The comedian who stated that African Presidents will always remind the world what a real dictator looks, added that shutting down Twitter is outrageous, indefensible and undemocratic.

Insisting that the Twitter ban in Nigeria was over a deleted tweet of President Buhari, Trevor further revealed that former US President, Donald Trump will be jealous over the ban.
