Venita Akpofure Replies Esther Biade After She Threw Shade At Tolani Baj

The outcome of last night's BBNaija lockdown reunion show shocked many after the seeming love triangle between Vee, Neo, and TolaniBaj bared it all.

Recall that during the show, TolaniBaj surprised many when she had a talk about her getting "closer" to Neo. TolaniBaj and Vee used to be friends and she had always known that Neo was Vee's man. So the talk of them getting closer than expected came to many as a surprise.
 
When Ebuka asked her to explain why she talked about getting cozy with Neo despite the fact that she was friends with Vee, TolaniBaj in her response said she did it to get back at her former love interest, Prince, who she said wasn't man enough.

Former BBNaija housemate, Esther Agunbiade, wasn't buying Tolani's explanation and she went on Twitter to throw shade at her.



Venita who was in the BBNaija PepperDem season with Esther spotted her tweet and in response, asked her to be guided on the comments she makes about others. According to Venita, 'we know how you move around your friend's love interest"

Eucharia Anunobi – I Got PhD On Merit, Not With Cash

Very recently, Eucharia Anunobi, a veteran actress and evangelist took to her social media page to announce that she had bagged a PhD in Christian Education and Ministerial Arts.

While some people may have opined that the PhD was given to her as a favour, the born-again thespian maintained that she got in on merit, adding that her celebrity status had nothing to do with it but on the contrary made her journey more strenuous.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, Anunobi said, "Firstly, I believe in knowledge and as a pastor, one needs to be knowledgeable. One cannot efficiently work for God if one is bereft of knowledge. I have the backing of the Bible, which says, 'My people perish for lack of knowledge'. As a preacher, if one does not gather knowledge, one cannot efficiently mentor or counsel (people). Sometimes, one's congregants are even in the Diaspora. Anointing has to do with one acquiring knowledge about the things of God. A preacher has to deal with people from all walks of life. I know that by the grace of God, I would also be preaching to the high and mighty, and one has to be equipped with the right knowledge. I am not limiting myself to what they call 'an average pastor'. I have to groom myself for the future.

"My doctorate degree is not an honourary one. I paid school fees and I have the certificate to show for it. Mine was not dashed to me at all, neither was it 'cash and carry'. I have a Bachelor's degree in English language from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I also have a Master's degree in Social Work from the Lagos State University. In addition, I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Leadership from The Redeemer's International Leadership Academy and now, a PhD in Christian Education and Ministerial Arts Kingdom Life Bible College. There are people in the entertainment industry who are a combination of beauty and brains. People who know me can attest that I have always been an academically-inclined woman. It was instilled in me from childhood. I am used to proving that whatever I have, I got it on merit. Also, I am not up to 56 years yet but I pray that I would get to that age joyfully. I wonder who wrote it online (that I'm 56 years old). People just falsify information. However, I would not disclose my age because I don't want it to be a subject of debate."

Anunobi also maintained that her celebrity status actually made her academic pursuit more strenuous. She added, "My celebrity status made things even more stressful for me in my academic pursuit because my work was criticised more. Even when I was studying for my Master's degree, I had to be frequent in school. I wrote my exams myself and submitted my assignments. My celebrity status did not help in any way, rather it made things more difficult. However, I love the challenge. I am principled and I can defend myself anytime. I want people to know that one can be a beautiful actress/celebrity and still be a powerful preacher. God can choose anyone from any profession."

Halima Abubakar – I’ll Continue Having Kids Without Revealing My Husband

Halima Abubakar, a popular Nollywood actress, has opined that though she is in showbiz, she was not obliged to show off her relationship because some people were ever ready to crash a beautiful relationship.

The thespian and mother of one made this known during an interview with Saturday Beats, where she said,

"Nobody knows if I'm married and it's not something I want to involve people in. People will just see me popping (giving birth to) kids. I don't want to share my private life with the public. In showbiz, I can give out something different, aside from my family. Everyone must not show off their husbands or boyfriends.

"Some people are always ready to crash beautiful relationships and I would not give anyone room for that. I had a similar situation with an ex but the man was foolish and childish to have listened to (naysayers). Men are not worth fighting over. Their eyes are always roaming. Some people are even ready to crash my friendship with my colleagues and fellow women.

"Whoever is in my life is making me happy. I think trust is important in a relationship. I don't have anything to hide. I have never dated two men at a time. I don't pressure myself about meeting expectations or targets. I might set a goal for myself, while God wants something better for me. The mouth is very powerful and one has to be careful about what one says. I don't usually reveal my plans ahead of time because I am not God."
 
Abubakar also noted that motherhood had calmed her. She said,

"I have been doing business for over 16 years. I have three stores and a farm. I know that I cannot have just one job and get all I want. Having multiple sources of income makes me responsible and accountable. I would also say that motherhood has made me calmer. I am unmoved by unnecessary and stressful emotion because I have so much responsibilities.

"I know the decisions that I take and I'm happy with them. They have brought me this far and I have no regrets. I really don't care about friends. Our industry is not a place to make friends. When one genuinely makes friends, they tend to overuse one. I do not take disrespect very likely, no matter who the person is. People that misunderstand me are the ones that say terrible things about me. I have grown tremendously. I am wiser and more reserved."

#OniduroMi: I Asked Tope Alabi To Apologise To Alaseyori, Says Telemi

Following the controversial statement by gospel singer, Tope Alabi, about Yinka Alaseyori's song, veteran gospel musician, Timi Osukoya, popularly known as Telemi, has stated that he spoke to both parties about the issue, including the original songwriter, Tolu Adelegan.

According to a report by Punch, the 63-year-old veteran who spoke to Saturday Beats said, "I have spoken to Tope Alabi and Yinka Alaseyori. I have also spoken to the original writer of the song, Tolu Adelegun, about the need for them to allow peace to reign. Aside from that, I also told Alaseyori not to comment on the issue to anyone, whether privately or publicly.

"That is because they are two sisters involved in the assignment. They should not allow themselves to be used by people who could twist their words and blow them out of proportion. That was why I asked Alaseyori not to talk because whatever she says, people would read meanings to it and it may not be what she meant.

"When I reached out to Tope Alabi, I told her that with the way the issue was going, she should tender an immediate apology on social media to calm the nerves of those saying different things, especially her fans. God has sent them to inspire us, so she should do that."

Telemi also noted that the manner of approach in criticism is different from individual to individual. He said, "Anybody can condemn any song but the mode of criticism differs. You can walk up to me and tell me you noticed something in my music. There is no harm there. But, when it has to do with doing it publicly, it could be a bit dangerous. It is not everybody that can accept public correction but when it comes, a lot of things can be done.

"If 10 people receive a song, they will not do the same thing when they get to the studio. The original writer of the song sang it in a different way from the way people are now singing it. Nobody has a monopoly on the power of God, or the secret of God. Everybody has access to Him, so whether a particular song is wrong or not depends on perspective."

On the effects the controversy has had on the gospel music industry, Telemi said, "The negative side of it is that a lot of people are disappointed because the story is flying all over social media. I have heard about two broadcasts now telling our fans not to feel disappointed and discouraged by the issue going on, that all ministers are sorry."

Though it was not clear if Alabi had heeded Telemi's advice, a source close to the 'Angeli Mi' singer told Saturday Beats that a statement of her apologising to Alaseyori, which went viral on Friday, was not authored by her.

Toyin Lawani Announces Pregnancy Days After Celebrity Wedding

Toyin Lawani, a celebrity fashion designer and entrepreneur, on Friday, June 18, announced that she's pregnant.

This is coming barely a week after she got married to her husband, photographer, Segun Wealth.
 
Sharing side-by-side photos of her bare bump and a doctored one, Toyin told her followers that she would only let them know what she wants them to know.

She said, "Shout out to my amazing creative genius husband. Both pictures were taken 1st of March for my birthday. But he edited the bump to perfection to hide it, (be) cause I wasn't ready to share my happiness with the world. If not for the wedding I still wouldn't have shared it.

Meanwhile, in a previous post, Toyin had claimed that she was one of the most mocked parents around and that she could have six children with different fathers if it makes her happy.

She wrote, "I think I'm the most mocked parent out there, Guess what my crime is? having kids from separate men, well if doing that will keep giving me kids like #therealtiannah and #thereallordmaine I will make the mistake over and over and over again.

Mike Bamiloye Reacts As Tope Alabi Apologises To Adeyinka Alaseyori

Few hours after Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi reportedly apologized to her colleague, Adeyinka Alaseyori, over her comment on her hit song 'Oniduromi',Nigerian drama evangelist and producer Mike Bamiloye has reacted.

It was earlier reported that Tope Alabi, in a statement, acknowledged her mistake of externalizing a personal message in public where she said God isn't her guarantor because He's more than a guarantor.
 
In the statement, Tope Alabi said she and Adeyinka are of the same family and belong to the same calling, singing ministry.

Tope Alabi added that God had given everyone the grace to go as far as His enablement could carry, and the atmosphere is wide enough for everyone to stretch the wings of the gift without disturbing one another.

Reacting Mike Bamiloye in a lengthy post shared on his Instagram page commends Tope Alabi for doing the needful and putting the devil to shame.
 
While appreciating Tope Alabi for her music genre, Mike Bamiloye said he believes that God Lord has turned around whatever the Devil Intended to do with the storm, to call her attention to Himself the more.

The drama Evangelist also commended Adeyinka Alaseyori for remaining calm irrespective of the controversies that have trailed the issue.

Mike Bamiloye also referenced how God used the storm to announce Adeyinka, made a sensation on social media and witness a massive increase on her several social media platforms.

#BBNaijaReunion: Dorathy Accuses Ozo Of Backbiting

As the ongoing BBNaija Lockdown Reunion continues to entertain fans with the very much expected drama to the delight of lovers of the reality television show, Dorathy, on day two of the show, shed light on the reason for her strained relationship with Ozo, despite how close they were in the house.

During the reality show, some viewers believed Dorathy had amorous feelings towards Ozo. However, the young man's eyes were fixated on Nengi.

As the show went on, many believed hostility began to build between Dorathy and Nengi while Ozo was seen as the bone of contention between the women.

Last night, Dorathy revealed that the reason she has a strained relationship with Nengi is because of Ozo. The reality TV star accused Ozo of backbiting.

She said, "Everybody thinks I had feelings for him when he knew that I liked Prince at that time. I did not have any feelings for Ozo and I do not know where all of this is coming from; maybe because of the kind of person that I am.

"I am very open; when you give me a lot of attention, I will be there. He was my friend at that time; he comes to me to tell me things, and as my friend, I stand by him. It seemed to affect my relationship with Nengi because my friend comes to tell me something about a person and I was like, 'what's wrong with this babe?'

"He put me in a bad position because coming outside, I started seeing a lot of stories. I remember talking to him and I told him I feel he is the one playing the game between us. That is one of the reasons why I don't talk to him.

"You come to me, tell me things; I talk to you and you go back to tell Nengi. Is that what friendship is? You bring your problems to me; I talk to you about it and you go back to tell the person. Do you know how hurtful that is?"

Ozo, in response, accused Dorathy of putting things in Nengi's head.

He said, "I know I mentioned the part where Dora put me up for eviction, but I didn't even see that as an issue. I did see you (Dorathy) as my friend and you are talking to a girl that I liked the whole time that I was in the house.

"In the conversation, you were like 'you do not even know what he is doing and all that'. You were putting things in the girl's head."
 
Nengi also stated that coming out of the house, she felt some resentment towards Dorathy.

She said, "I was watching the clips and I saw where Dorathy said things like 'Nengi is an attention-seeking b*tch. Anything I do, she is trying to do.'

"A lot of hurtful stuff that she said and I never said anything bad about her because I did not have any issues with her. I still used to eat her food and do everything with her. I felt like we were good. But that was then.

"I also feel like Ozo played a part and I have told him before now. You cannot go and be saying bad about the person you are with to another person. If my sister or best friend comes and keeps saying bad about a particular person, I would definitely feel some type of way. And I told him that he was part of the reason why Dorathy and I fell out."

Chrissy Teigen Reacts After Abusive DMs By Michael Costello Claiming Were From Her Turned Out Fabricated

American model, Chrissy Teigen has reacted after it emerged that abusive DMs shared by Michael Costello claiming were from her turned out fabricated.

Chrissy has confirmed reports that Instagram messages Michael Costello claimed she sent to him are fake, and she's coming out with her own receipts.
 
The clash between Teigen and Costello began earlier this week.

After Chrissy published a posy, apologising for her past "awful" tweets, Costello came forward and said he's "traumatized, depressed and has thoughts of suicide" because of the model's alleged bullying behavior years ago.

The fashion designer then shared purported screenshots of a direct message from 2014 as proof.
 
However, observant fans pointed out things that show that the DMs were falsified.

Chrissy Teigen has now responded, saying the DMs shared by Costello are fabricated.

She released a screenshot of their actual DM to show she didn't bully Costello and the DMs he shared were falsified.




Chrissy also shared a statement from her lawyers.

She added in the caption: "No idea what the f*** Michael Costello is doing.

"He just released a statement where he didn't at ALL acknowledge how fake the dm's were, & now claims to have emails that don't exist."

Nick Cannon’s Girlfriend Alyssa Scott Confirms She’s Pregnant With His Seventh Child

Popular actor and TV host, Nick Cannon is officially expecting his seventh child as his girlfriend, Alyssa Scott, has confirmed she is pregnant.

The former America's Got Talent host welcomed twins with model Abby De La Rosa just last week, with the DJ giving birth to their baby boys on June 14.

On Father's Day, his current girlfriend Alyssa has confirmed that she is also expecting a child with Nick after rumours mounted last month.

In a photo shared in her Instagram stories, a shirtless Nick is seen sitting on top of a rock with Alyssa standing in between his legs. Nick places his hands on the model's baby bump while looking off into the distance away from the camera.

'Celebrating you today,' Alyssa wrote over the photo. Nick, 40, is yet to publicly comment on the baby news.

In May, Alyssa first alluded to her pregnancy when she shared an image of herself with her stomach on show and the caption: 'Zen S. Cannon.' However, she later deleted the photo confusing fans about whether she was expecting a child with Nick.

She then teased fans with suggestive messages, including one where a follower commented: 'Where's @nickcannon he don't miss a photo shoot,' to which she responded: 'We are keeping those for us.'

When asked if Nick was the father, she responded with heart-face emoji.


Alyssa, who reportedly worked as a model on Nick's Wild 'N Out, was said to be 34 weeks pregnant at the time.

Teasing her pregnancy, she told her followers: 'I'm finally getting to that uncomfortable state. Everything aches.'
 
Nick and Alyssa were first seen together in Malibu, California last October on a dinner date at celebrity hotspot Nobu.

Cannon has welcomed three children from two different women in less than a year. De La Rosa gave birth to Cannon's fifth and sixth child, twin boys named Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, on June 14.

In December 2020, Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell welcomed their second child together, a daughter named Powerful Queen. Cannon and Bell already share a three-year-old son named Golden.

Alyssa is said to be expecting her baby soon, making it Nick's 4th child in less than one year.

Nick also has nine-year-old twins he shares with Mariah Carey, Morrocan and Monroe.

Uti Nwachukwu – Big Brother Naija Is A Reflection Of Nigeria’s Failed System

Former winner of Big Brother Africa reality television game show, Uti Nwachukwu, has branded the Nigerian version of the show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), as a reflection of failed Nigerian system.

The media personality stated this while speaking on BBNaija as an excellent platform to enhance one's 'dreams and aspirations' in an interview with Sunday Scoop.
 
Uti said if there were other opportunities in the country, the huge number of youths trying to take part in the show annually won't troop out for auditioning.

In his words; "Big Brother Naija is one of the most credible platforms to speed up whatever dreams and aspirations one has. It is also a reflection of a failed system because if there were other opportunities available, I don't think there would be this massive influx of youths trying to partake in the show.

"BBNaija is a platform that takes one from nothing to something in just three months. It also depends on if the contestant has an existing plan. Kudos to people that maximise the platform like me. I had a dream, and I knew that it was the best and easiest way for me. It is good but sad in the sense that it seems like one of the best ways to actualise one's dreams in Nigeria.
 
Uti further noted that Big Brother is not a platform for people with connection. He also advised against prospective participants getting desperate to do anything to get into the competition.

"However, no one should be desperate to a point that one would be willing to do anything to get into the reality show. Desperation has never birthed anything useful. It usually leads to self-destruction. I tell people that the platform is credible. If not, it would have lost its appeal.

"My advice to people is for them to audition properly. If the slot is for you, you would get it. Based on my experience the show is not a function of connection or nepotism."

Actress Damilola Adegbite Advises Single Mothers

Beautiful Nigerian actress, Damilola Adegbite, shares some words of advice for single mothers who keep their kids from their fathers.

The talented role interpreter spoke against such act in her message on Father's Day that was celebrated yesterday, June 20, 2021.
 
She wrote on her Instagram page that, "There are three categories of single mothers: the ones whose children's fathers cannot be in their life (e.g dead, incarcerated etc.); the ones whose children's fathers have abandoned them or who do more harm than good being a part of their lives (e.g cases of domestic violence); and then lastly, the ones who intentionally keep their children/child away from their father because they are angry, bitter, hurt and vengeful.

"To 'category 3′ mums, today is a good day to reassess the situation. There are many awesome fathers who genuinely crave to be in their children's lives but are not allowed to by their moms. Trust me, I understand how you feel. Please soften your heart towards them and make decisions based on what's best for your child."

Biola Okoya, daughter of billionaire businessman, Rasaq Okoya, on Thursday, June 17, paid a visit to the graveside of her son, Ayodeji Akinwande Modupe-Johnson, to mark his first death anniversary, IgbereTV reports.

Her son, Ayodeji died on Friday, June 12, 2020, after a brief illness. He was 24 years old.

The worried mum recounted how he was always praying to God to make everyone wake up alive the next day, She prayed for his soul to continue to rest in peace. She also launched a foundation in his honor, Akinwande Sickle Cell Foundation, that will help to cater for sickle cell patients.

Pastor Kumuyi - I will return all your tithes and offerings if you’re a sinner

The founder of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi, has said he will return the tithes and offerings of any of his member who is still living in sin.

According to Daily Post, Kumuyi said this while addressing his members at the church's headquarters in Lagos. He stressed that sinners who have refused to repent but support the church with their money, are wasting their resources.

While speaking on the importance of living a holy life, Kumuyi said God does not need a "sinner's money" stating that it is pointless for a sinner to pay tithes and offerings in church.

He was quoted as saying, "If you are a sinner here, God does not need your money. All the money you are giving in this church does not get to God. You are just wasting your money.

As a matter of fact if I know the numbers of sinners here and how much they gave as tithes and offering I will remove it and give it back to them. God does not need it and the church does not need it."

Footballer, Jude Ighalo's wife, Sonia, has replied to trolls who say she called him out on IG because she is pained.

The footballer and Sonia have been having marital crises for a while. He has since been alleged to have dated some women including actress Lilian Esoro.

This evening, Sonia via her Instastories congratulated him on the birth of his new baby from another woman.

Shortly after her post was shared, some persons claimed she called him out because she was pained.

Responding, Sonia pointed out that she is the legally married wife and that if she wants to collect everything from him, she can. The mum of three alleged that Jude welcomed a baby with another woman since February and has refused to pay child support despite court orders.

Wathoni in a tweet after BBNaija Reunion on Saturday wrote, " The balloons were found shaking."

This came off as an insult targeted at Dorathy as fans accused her of body shaming Dorathy.

However, in a post shared on Saturday on her Instagram page, Wathoni apologised if her words sounded like 'body shaming', adding that her intention was not to bodyshame Dorathy.

Her post read: "I'll do this because I stand for so many things but body shaming. Now those who misinterpreted my words I never body shamed Dorathy Bachor and will never do that even in my next life.

FG appoints Mikel Obi as youth ambassador

Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has been appointed as Youth Ambassador by the Federal Government to inspire young Nigerians towards excellence.

This was made known at an event held at the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos on Friday, which was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare.

According to the Special Adviser to the Minister on Media, John Joshua-Akanji, Mikel was described by the Minister as a "role model whose lasting legacies in football development has continued to have a positive impact on youths in the country."
 
Mikel was assured of Federal Government support whenever he chooses to invest in the country.

"Time will not permit me to say much about Mikel's success as a footballer. He is our legend and a role model who has continued to impact the lives of youth positively.

Oyedepo commends FG over regulation of social media

David Oyedepo, presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, says unlimited access to social media platforms is robbing youths of their future.

Speaking on Friday at the seventh convocation of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara state, Oyedepo called for urgent steps to check unrestricted access to social media.

The popular cleric, who is also the chancellor of the institution, lamented that many young people spend most of their time chatting, with lesser time to engage in productive tasks.

"It unconsciously robs people of their future by robbing them of their time — no time to think; no time to plan; no time to programme," Oyedepo said.

"This generation may lose her heroes to social media disaster. Here is one creeping serpent that is eating up the destinies of many individuals.

"We must wake up from our slumber to deal with this monster. Young people, beware! Addiction to social media is like addiction to drugs. It can render a whole destiny useless.

"This social media saga has eroded the substance of destiny of most youths today. What is supposed to be a plus has suddenly become a major minus, because everything of value delivers through investment of time.

"Suddenly, we are faced with a generation on the wrong side of history; the honour of this generation has been wiped off — chatting all day with no time left to think, plan, programme and engage productively in the pursuit of any task.

"Many youths spend less than 10 to 20 percent of their time on their tasks per day. They can never match a generation that spends 70 percent to 80 percent of their time on their tasks.

"We must devise means to put a check on free access to social media, particularly those that are not adding values. Life is a race. Everyone should get on the track, ready for the run of their lives."
