Posted: 08 Jun 2021 05:30 AM PDT

Actress Nkechi Blessing is displeased with the way Nigerians treat celebrities in the country.

Nkechi Blessing urged Nigerians to travel abroad and learn or see how they value their entertainers or celebrities more than Nigerians do.

According to Nkechi Blessing, those abroad value their entertainers and all those who bring smiles unto their faces but when it comes to Nigeria, they would rather insult those who entertain and bring smiles unto their faces.

Nkechi Blessing then added that some Nigerians even go on the pages of these international entertainers or celebrities and appreciate them more than they appreciate their own celebrities or entertainers back in Nigeria.

To Nkechi Blessing, Nigerians do not appreciate their own entertainers or celebrities because the hate they have for them is too much and she believes the country would be better if they change their attitude towards each other.

The insult and hates Nigerians have for their celebrities calling them 'yeyebrities' has been bothering Nkechi Blessing and that has made her urged Nigerians to travel abroad and see how celebrities are appreciated.

All he kept on saying was this 'if I give my children the best training and the best education they will survive anywhere and they'll never lack and I will be a fulfilled father'.

T.B Joshua And Everything You Need To Know About The Popular Nigerian Prophet

Posted: 08 Jun 2021 01:30 AM PDT

Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as T.B Joshua; is a well known Nigerian clergyman, the founder and Senior Prophet of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a large church with its headquarters situated in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria.

T.B Joshua Early Life

Prophet T. B. Joshua, Nigerian cleric, televangelist and philanthropist was born on June 12, 1963 in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria.

The SCOAN website said that Joshua stayed in his mother's womb for 15 months before being born.

From 1971 to 1977, he attended St. Stephen's Anglican Primary School, Ikare-Akoko, Nigeria.

Joshua did complete one year in secondary school, dropping out and started working at a poultry farm.

While in school, Joshua was known and called 'small pastor' due to his love and knowledge of the Bible and also his ability to predict the future, according to SCOAN.

T.B Joshua's Career
Temitope Balogun Joshua led the 'Scripture Union' during his time in school and in 1987, Joshua founded Synagogue Church of All Nations.

The church started with a handful of members but has since become one of Nigeria's most influential churches, attracting over 50,000 people to its weekly Sunday services at the headquarters in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos.

The church is popular even outside Nigeria. The cleric was popular across Africa and Latin America. He is famed for having Head of States, captain of industries, celebrities and dignitaries visiting his weekly services.

He also runs Emanuel TV, which broadcasts via satellite and Internet. He has affiliated congregations in Ghana, the UK, South Africa, and Greece.

T.B Joshua, in 2009, kicked off a football academy known as 'My People FC' as part of his efforts to help the youth.

T.B Joshua's Net Worth
Temitope Balogun Joshua was rated as third-richest pastor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $10 million – $15 million in 2011 by Forbes.

T.B Joshua's Controversies
No matter how great the clergyman was, there are some controversies that went on about T.B Joshua. Here are some of those controversies below:

The cleric was heavily criticised due to the large number of miracles that happened in his Church during services.

In 2012, Zimbabwe police reportedly investigated a "fraudster" church in Harare allegedly linked to Joshua.

Recall that in 2017, popular televangelist, Chris Okotie, accused Joshua of "shamanist practices," But he did not, however, provide evidence to back up his claims.

Joshua was always seen by fellow Pentecostal pastors and Christians as being unorthodox and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) denied the Synagogue Church membership.

In April 2021, YouTube suspended Emmanuel TV channel from its platform, accusing the cleric of hate speech after the T.B Joshua was seen in a video casting out 'gay spirit' from his congregants.

T.B Joshua's Philanthropy
Joshua and his philanthropy is widely known. He is known for offering scholarships to the poor, food items and cash as well. He even gave to Nations, for example, Joshua sent 4,000 bottles of the water alongside a cash gift of $50,000 to the Ebola-stricken nation of Sierra Leone. This came after Lagos State Health officials visited Joshua, requesting he publicly discourage Ebola victims from visiting his church for prayers.

He also did same for another African country during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prophecies
The popular prophet T.B Joshua is famed for his many prophecies, many which do come true, here are but a few below:

Joshua earlier prophesized that "an African leader" would die in sixty days. In fact, the president of Malawi died shortly thereafter. He prophesied that another "African leader" will fall "critically ill' and be hospitalized.

For Mugabe, who in 2012 reportedly suffered from prostate cancer and sought medical treatment in Singapore regularly, this "prophecy" is probably too close to home.

T.B Joshua's Death
Temitope Balogun Joshua, died on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He died at the age of 57, a few days to his 58th birthday, after concluding a Church programme.

His passing has stirred reactions among members of his church and Nigerians in general, most of whom were shocked by the news.

Read the full post Facebook below:

When you turned 50, and your people said you wanted comedians to come entertain your congregation, I was VERRRRRRY SCEPTICAL.

You said you wanted them to know that laughter helps to heal the soul, just as a little red wine was good for the stomach.

@mcabbeydaprof and @lepaciousbose were the only ones who agreed to come. Even these two, had reservations. Just like when we went to entertain President Yaradua in Kastina, @lepaciousbose said, "Bros if you will go, I will follow you."

I remember during the performances when my colleagues were done, and during my performance, I walked unto the Altar and picked an apple and a banana… the whole congregation went silent. You later told me that you watched all our performances from your office and cracked up at the look on the faces of the congregation.

When we (Abbey and Bose) each had our private meetings with you, you asked why I had not gone into church ministration. I replied that I didn't think I want to fast or intercede for anyone. And I said I have not been a good boy.

You laughed and asked me, "Are you badder than King David and Apostle Paul? Even if you are a killer God can use anyone."

You then started telling me, what only I knew about my life. Just as you were saying those things, I thought, this man may be fake, and you said, "You may think I am fake, it's ok. I can't make you change your thinking. That is you"

I froze.

Then you prayed and gave me a "thanks for coming". I then said thank you. And thought "I would share it 3 ways". You did that mind reading again. "That's for you alone".

You stopped at the door and went to a drawer to gift me a Fisher Electronic Bible. "Always stay close to God and read his word every day. You have a destiny for God"

In the last 8 years, you have consistently called to "My brother, how are you? Draw nearer to God". One time you asked, "What is holding you up from God's work?" And after my covid experience you called to prayed and sent something "for phensic". I told you the "phensic" made the prayer work faster. You laughed.

You always joked that you were older than me by just 12 days, as I was born on June 24th…

Rest on Man of God.

Rapper Ruggedman has tackled former Presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba over his comment on Twitter ban in the country.

In an Instalive interview he sat for with Garba and comedian Seyilaw, the rapper averred that it is troubling that the issue being discussed in the country is "ban of a social media platform" when there are many things affecting the lives of Nigerians bordering on economy and security.

Ruggedman who stated that nothing is being produced in the country, further alleged that the argument many are putting out is that "kilishi is a technological breakthrough". Also recounting how a Nigerian minister said that pencils will soon be produced in the country, the rapper asked why it is easier for Nigerian youths to succeed abroad than in the country.

When he recalled how Adamu Garba began promoting his own 'social media platform' after the Twitter ban was announced, the former presidential aspirant chipped in that he is a "businessman".

Firing back at him, Ruggedman stressed that it was ill-timed and further stated that Garba shouldn't be heartless even though he is a businessman.

This is to clarify the misrepresentation of the NYSC Director-General's recent interview with the media currently trending on the social media.

Nigerian designer Ugo Monye threatens legal action against 'Coming 2 America' producers over infringement

Posted: 07 Jun 2021 08:00 AM PDT

The Nigerian designer recently issued a commercial notice of infringement on one of its designs used in the 2021 movie.

Top Nigerian designer, Ugo Monye has threatened legal actions over the alleged use of his company's registered design in 2021 Paramount pictures film, 'Coming 2 America'.

In a recently shared Instagram post, the designer revealed that the popular 'Reale Design' owned by his design company was reproduced in the film without proper authorization.

"It has come to our attention that our Registered Reale Design was reproduced and featured in the movie, 'Coming 2 America' (the "Movie") without UML's authorisation. The producers - Paramount Pictures, New Republic Productions, Eddie Murphy Productions and Misher Film Productions- through the costume designer of the movie, Ruth E. Carter, commissioned some tailors/designers in Nigeria to design and produce some costumes for the Movie that are an infringement of UML's design," an excerpt of the notice reads.

The notice also took a jab at the alleged cultural misappropriation criticism that the film received when it debuted earlier on in the year, alongside an attempt to profit off the hard work of "smaller brands" as well as the African culture.

In addition, the notice clarified that actions will be taken against the film's producers if not properly addressed.

Recall the anticipated sequel of the 1988 comedy premiered on March 4, 2021. The film received mixed reviews. Costumier, Ruth E. Carter, however, got glowing reviews for her work on the production.

At the time of this post, the producers have not issued a public statement regarding Ugo Monye's claims.

Why cause trouble and run to your father? - Lexis Bill on Shatta Wale's saga

Posted: 07 Jun 2021 05:30 AM PDT

The Joy FM presenter's comment is coming at the back of reports about Shatta Wale organizing hoodlums to attack a road contractor because he wanted the contractor to forcefully extend the government project to his office.

After the mayhem, the contractor reported the dancehall act to the East Legon police and it was his father who showed up at the station to assure that his son will report later.

Discussing the saga on Drive Time, Joy FM reporter, Saminiwaa AkyeStill Burniton, said "arrest warrant has been issued to that effect and his father, Charles Mensah Senior, has promised he is going to produce his son" and Lexis asked, "why did Shatta go to his father's house?"

In the video below, Lexis further quizzed that "why can't Shatta produce himself, does he live with his father, I don't understand ... so you go shake small then they take you go police station then you run to your father, is that the case?"

However, Shatta Wale, has apologized yesterday to the contractor he assaulted with his hoodlums when he tweeted that " a lot has happened, needless to explain or defend. Wish to apologize to everyone especially the contractor and Kennedy, let us work together to build our motherland, One Love!".

The dancehall act further went on to explain in a video that he didn't pay for the road as speculated by some of his supporters who attempted to defend his lawlessness. Watch the video below.
