Comedian Ushbebe: ‘I Get My Jokes From My Dreams’

Justice Nuagbe, a Nigerian comedian popularly called Ushbebe, discloses that being a comedian is a tough job while revealing how he gets his jokes from his dreams.

The comic act stated this in a chat with HipTV when speaking on how he creates timeless jokes. He mentioned that he's a spontaneous comedian who can freestyle with things happening around him for over 40 minutes.

The funny man added that he gets his comedy inspirations from his dreams, stating that when he dreams, he wakes up and does a voice recording of the joke to further fine-tune it for production.

Ushbebe stressed that he was serious about getting comedy inspiration from dreams. In the video seen by WithinNigeria, he brought out his phone to play a voice note of a joke he recorded when he just woke up.

"I can wake up at 3 AM, what I see in my dream, I turn it into a joke —that's how difficult this work is," Ushbebe said.

He continued, "it's a hard job. To create a timeless joke, you could either script them, work towards performing them, imagine them, and if it happens on stage for you and you can kill it at a time, it is fine."

"Timeless joke creation is particular to how your presentations are as a comedian. Me, I just want to flow with the time, I just try to stay timeless," he added.

The comedian's annual show, the chronicles of Ushbabe 15: the Vaccine Edition, is scheduled for July 25, 2021 at the Eko Hotels and Suites.

Reno Omokri – Church Wedding Not Godly

Nigerian author, Reno Omokri, condemns the idea of church marriage in one of his latest posts on Twitter.

The former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, on Twitter, stated that God didn't invent church wedding or going to registry to seal marriage.
 
Omokri branded church wedding a man-made arrangement, and claimed God's process for marriage is in four steps, which he listed thus;

"MARRIAGE according to The Bible

Step 1: Man approaches Woman
 
Step 2: Man proposes marriage to Woman

Step 3: Woman accepts proposal

Step 4: They both tell their parents

End of process!

Every other thing, including CHURCH and REGISTRY, is MAN MADE!"

Burna Boy, a multiple award-winning Nigerian musician, discloses why clocking 30 years is important to him.

The singer, in an appreciation post to everyone who celebrated his 30th birthday with him, said there was a time he never thought he could grow up to see the age.

The Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy, stated that the age means a lot to him while thanking all his family members, fans and loved ones on social media.

He wrote that, "I really wanna thank everyone involved in making my birthday special. This birthday really meant a lot to me. I remember a time I wasn't sure I'd even see age 30. From the bottom of my heart I appreciate everyone who went out of their way to make my day."

Nigerian Idol Organizers Reveal Grand Prize For Season 6 Winner, Other Gifts

As the season six of popular TV show, Nigerian Idol comes to an end with its grand finale expected to be aired on the 11th of July, the organizers have revealed the grand prize for the winner.

The show which premiered on March 14, 2021, is expected to end this Sunday.

Only left with two contestants, the show will see the duo of Francis and Kingdom battle for the ultimate prize.

The Organizers in a post shared via its official Instagram account on Thursday evening revealed that the winner will walk away with a cash prize of N30 million, a brand new SUV, 6 track EP recording deal, 3 music videos included, an all-expense-paid trip to Seychelles, a weekend getaway to Dubai for 2.

Nigerian relationship blogger Blessing Okoro has defended men who don't last over two minutes in bed in her post on Instagram.

Against the general belief that men who cannot last more than two minutes while making love are sexually weak, Blessing argued that the women are to be blamed for this.

She explained that if a woman is too sweet, her man may not last over two minutes in bed because men can't often control their urge when dealing with such a woman.

Blessing said; "You don't always have to blame your man for being a 2 mins man. Yes… most times, it's your fault because you are too sweet. When a woman is too sweet, the man can't control his urge".

Unknown Gunmen Invade Imo House Of Assembly, Attack Speaker, Others

The Speaker of the House, Paul Emeziem, announced the suspension of six members for suspected "unparliamentary behaviour" on Thursday, throwing the Imo State House of Assembly into pandemonium.

Following the statement, it was learned that the Speaker of the Assembly, Paul Emeziem, and certain members of the House narrowly avoided being shot by unknown shooters.

During the incident, the Speaker's personal aides hurriedly escorted him out of the building.

Emeziem had already announced the indefinite suspension of two PDP members and four APC members.

The affected lawmakers were Kennedy Ibe (Obowo), Crown Onyemaechi (Ihitte-Uboma), Uche Ogbuagu (Ikeduru), Dominic Ezerioha (Oru West), Philip Ejiogu (Owerri North), and Anyadike Nwosu (Ezinihitte Mbaise).

While Ejiogu and Nwosu were of PDP, the other four were of the ruling party in the state, APC.

The Imo Assembly also dissolved all its standing committees as well and also sacked the House Chief Whip, Arthur Egwim (Ideato North).

It replaced Egwim with Obinna Okwara (Nkwerre).

Emeziem announced the news on the House floor, saying the suspension was necessary to allow the House to operate in relative peace and order.

He stated that the decision was made during the House's executive session, and that his leadership would not tolerate activities that would bring the House into dishonor and ridicule.

"We have observed that some members here have been conducting themselves in an unparliamentary manner thereby bringing the house to ridicule," the Speaker said.

"We have thoroughly examined this issue at the executive session of the house and have resolved that peace and order must continue to reign.

"The executive session has therefore recommended the suspension of the members who have engaged in different misconduct.

"This action is in line with ensuring that the image of the house remains as it should be, while providing a functional environment and the synergy which we are required to provide to ensure all arms of government work together."

‘Ada Jesus Is Not Dead’ — Husband Speaks Out

Late Comedienne, Ada Jesus' husband has declared that his wife is not dead and will return miraculously in three years.

In a video posted to his Facebook page, the late comedienne's husband stated that his wife, who was rumored to have died after a long battle with renal disease, is not dead.
 
People may not understand it, but he claims that his wife will return to life after three years.

In his words, "She is still alive. She will be back again. O don't know how people will understand these words but I know that she is still alive. She will come back to me after 3 years".

It will be noted that the late controversial Facebook comedienne passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, after suffering cardiac arrest in an Abuja hospital.

The actress was suffering from kidney disease at the time of her death, and her followers linked her poor health to her disparaging words against controversial prophet Odumeje, actress Rita Edochie, and hometown doctor Chi Marine.

People advised she pay them a visit and ask for forgiveness, stating her illness was unusual, which she did before dying in April 2021.

Actress Stella Damasus fires back at followers who accused her of promoting domestic violence

Veteran actress, Stella Damasus in a recent video came out heavily prepared for some of her followers who dragged her for supporting domestic violence after she posted a video clip of a woman who rough-handled her husband after he tried to bully her.

Sharing the movie scene on her Instagram page, Stella Damascus showed how much she loved the scenario through a comment of hers.


Subsequently, the video and her comment were interpreted by some of her followers as a medium of promoting domestic violence.

Reacting to this, the 43-year-old actress initiated a live session in order to address the issue. In the video, Stella Damasus came hard on people who said she was a promoter of domestic violence by saying that they have only spoken up because the reverse is the case.

She further reaffirmed the fact that women should learn some martial art skills in order to defend themselves from the evil perpetrated against them by the male folks such as rape, beating, molestations and so on.
