Wizkid Celebrated His 31st Birthday

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun was born on the 16th of July 1990, known professionally as Wizkid (sometimes stylized as WizKid), Wizzy, Big Wiz or Starboy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He received several international music award nominations. He began recording music at the age of 11 and managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. Wizkid signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009.


He rose to prominence after releasing "Holla at Your Boy", the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011). "Tease Me/Bad Guys", "Don't Dull", "Love My Baby", "Pakurumo", and "Oluwa Lo Ni" were also released as singles from the Superstar album. Ayo, his self-titled second studio album, was released in September 2014. It was supported by six singles: "Jaiye Jaiye", "On Top Your Matter", "One Question", "Joy", "Bombay", and "Show You the Money". Wizkid left E.M.E after his contract expired.

In 2016, Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the global hit "One Dance", which reached number one in 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. He signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records in March 2017. His third studio album, Sounds from the Other Side, was released in July 2017. It serves as his major label debut and was primarily a Caribbean-influenced record. SFTOS was supported by five singles: "Daddy Yo", "Sweet Love", "Come Closer", "African Bad Gyal" and "Naughty Ride". Wizkid became the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his contribution to "One Dance".

In 2019, he was featured on Beyoncé's project The Lion King: The Gift on the collaboration "Brown Skin Girl", which won him a Grammy Award for Best Music Video. His fourth album, Made in Lagos, was released in October 2020, to wide commercial success and acclaim.

Personal life

Wizkid has three sons with three different women. Boluwatife Balogun, born 13 May 2011, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun Jr, born 15 January 2016, and Zion Ayo Balogun, born 28 October 2017.

Popular businessman, Obi Cubana has purchased for himself a personalized diamond necklace and hand chain to honour his late mother whose is set to be buried this weekend.

Mrs Ezinne Uche Iyiegbu, Obi's mother, died in December 2020 at the age of 78, and Obi is set to give her a proper burial this weekend in Oba, Anambra state. Friends of the popular Cabana Group chairman and owner have sent in gifts to encourage Obi.

According to the jeweller who designed the piece for Obi, Obi cubana asked to design diamond jewelry worth $100, 000 to honour his late mother.

He captioned his post as: @obi_cubana asked me "I want something special to commemorate my mum what can my 100k$ do for me" told him Say no more big bro #justaskobi

Comedian Bovi Dragged For Saying He Never Wanted A Female Child

Bovi, a popular comedian, has faced backlash on social media after announcing his desire to avoid having a girl child.

Bovi twinning with his daughter, Elena, in the same clothing was previously reported by Nollywoodtimes.

Sharing a photo of himself and his daughter, he wrote, "I never wanted a girl child, actually!"


This caption has enraged many on social media, earning Bovi a lot of dragging and slamming.

Nigerian international singer, Davido has finally returned to social media after days away following the death of Obama DMW.

Davido's return also comes with the release of a new music video featuring international artists Chris Brown and Yung Thug.

The video is for a song titled Spending Spree and would be out later today.

Davido took to his IG account to share a snippet from the video.

Following the singer's latest post, his fans and followers have taken to social media to hail him for a strong comeback. 




Shopping Spree was a track off Davido's album, 'A Better Time', released in 2020.

Afropop singer and award-winning songwriter, Yemi Alade rejoices as she becomes the latest ambassador of a luxury beauty product brand, Lush Hair Nigeria.

The Johny crooner who could not hold back her joy took to Instagram to emphasize how it has been her dream to bring hair extensions to her fans.

"Finally! My dream of bringing hair extensions essentials to you will be. made possible with @lushhairnigeria. I'm so excited to be joing the Lush hair family as their newest ambassador 💗," Yemi Alade wrote while sharing photos and videos of her arrival up to the agreement stage of the contract with the brand.

Billionaire daughter and popular Disc Jockey Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola aka DJ Cuppy, has showed off her new award.

Recall that Gistreel earlier reported that Cuppy performed as a DJ during a get together of Kings College London Alumni.

Well, it turned out she bagged an award at the event, and the billionaire daughter has taken to her social media timeline to flaunt it.

She captioned the photo, "Thank you Kings College London for this TREMENDOUS Honour and Award! 🎓🌺 Anyone that knows me knows how important education is! #DistinguishedKings"

The First Teaser Poster for “King of Boys 2” is Here & Kemi Adetiba is Grateful

The first teaser poster for "King of Boys 2" has been revealed, signalling that the highly anticipated sequel's debut is fast approaching.

Kemi Adetiba, in response to the recently unveiled teaser poster, took to Instagram to write an emotional post about what she went through and endured throughout the film's development. The director revealed she almost lost her life in 2020 after she fell ill for 7 months, and moved from the hospital straight to the set of 'KOB 2'. All in all, she's super grateful and proud of her team, herself and all the work that was put in to make the sequel a dream come true.


She wrote:

If I've ever shown bravado on this app, please ignore. I CRIED ugly, happy tears this morning. I'm talking snorting dripping, happy tears. I then got on a twenty minute video call with @solasobowale and we both cried together. This is what dreams are made off. A lot of work has gone into this.

After almost dying last year, and moving straight from the hospital (after being sick for almost 7 months) to the KOB 2 set only six weeks later… This moment feels like a dream that almost didn't happen. That the devil tried to steal.
Filmmaking is one of the hardest occupations. Don't let anyone tell you different. Even the guy wrangling cables on set sees PEPPER. But moments like this make it all worth it

I'm grateful to the ENTIRE KOB 2 production FAMILY. I love you guys more than you know. This is US!!
Thank you to the amazingly talented actors that gave us their talent to keep safe for them housed in a film. I pray we did you justice, and never let you down.

A video has surfaced on social media showing Nigerian international artiste, Davido and top female singer Tiwa Savage at the graveside of Obama DMW alongside other crew members.

Recall that Obama DMW passed on a few weeks ago with Davido taking a brief stay away from social media over shock surrounding his death.

According to the reports, Obama DMW was buried in Epe, an area in Lagos state.

Reality TV star, Dr. Cherry took to Instagram to debunk notions that she hates Tacha as she also testifies that the world doesn't revolve around the BBNaija star.

Tacha and Dr. Cherry have also been known to be antagonistic towards each other.

Following this, Dr. Cherry in a question and answer session on Instagram has made it clear that she doesn't hate the Big Brother Naija reality star.

But however, she's of the opinion that she doesn't give the same maximum energy to the BBNaija star because the world itself does not revolve around her.
 
As more questions pop up, Dr. Cherry has further warned fans of Tacha to stop sending her death threats.

Announcing this rare achievement on Instagram, the 37-year-old actress shared a video of her son dressed in a superhero (Iron Man) outfit.
 
The actress also thanked the brand for such a wonderful opportunity and expressed how proud she is over this feat attained by her son at just the age of 2.
