Celebrities React As Obi Cubana ‘Lavish’ Millions Of Naira On Late Mother’s Burial

Nigerian celebrities such as Wunmi Toriola and Daddy Freeze have taken to Instagram to express their feelings about Obi Cubana's mother's burial in Anambra state, which has become the talk of the town.

The funeral rites has become a trend on social media platforms because of the expensive and extravagant manner in which it is being celebrated.

According to reports, the businessman received over 300 cows and spent over N88 million on drinks for his mother's funeral.

However, some Nigerian celebrities poured out their reactions on social media. See below:

Wife of popular Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, has taken to Instagram to lament bitterly after a Lagos hospital severely injured their son.

The food vendor revealed that Lifeline Children Hospital are yet to checkup on their son after giving him a severe injure in his ear.

In her words:

"It's been 3 days since @lifelinechildrenshospital accidentally poked my 2 yrs old in his ears which resulted to bleeding and severe pains 😭😭and there's been no call or a text message to check on him or apologize for their unprofessionalism.
It's a shame this shit hole is supposed to be one of the best children's hospital we have in lagos and my experience with them thus far has been tragic.

Rapper The Game–For A Man To Be Loved, He Has To Provide Something

American rapper The Game has made a controversial statement on his social media page.

The actor spoke about unconditional love in his recent post, noting that men are loved conditionally unlike women, children and dogs.

The Game opined that for a man to be loved; he has to be a provider of something. In his words;

"Only women, children and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only loved under the condition that he provides something," he said.

The Game had earlier this year advised his male followers that in a relationship, a real man shoulders all the financial loads even if he is fortunate to find an independent woman who works and still takes care of their home.

Twitter User Blasts Wizkid For Not Paying Tribute To Late Sound Sultan

Singer Wizkid aka Big Wiz has been chastised for failing to pay homage to his late buddy and colleague Sound Sultan.

The iconic singer and actor died on July 11th after a long battle with throat cancer. Tiwa Savage, Mayorkun, 2baba, and other celebrities, as well as the general public, flocked to social media to express their feelings and pay glowing homage to Sound Sultan.

Wizkid also posted a crushed heart emoji on his Instagram Story in response to the tragic news (see post here). Given his intimate friendship with the late Musician, it appears that his reaction was insufficient. Remember that before Sound Sultan's death, the duo had two songs (Kokose and Geshomo) and was working on a new one.

Ololadee, a Twitter influencer, used the Bluebird app to chastise Wizkid for not paying tribute to Sound Sultan like other celebs. She implied that Wizkid didn't appreciate their connection because he didn't send Sound Sultan a genuine letter.

Sound Sultan and Wizkid were photographed several times hanging out and vibing, but Wizkid didn't think it was appropriate to write Sultan a tribute or pay honour to the late music great, according to Ololadee.

Situationships have to be the most confusing and exhausting of all modern relationships.

The terms that describe modern relationship situations just seem to get longer every few months - dating, chilling, situationships, hanging out, casual relationships, friendship-with-benefits.

These are some of the different emotional, sexual and romantic permutations one keeps hearing of.

Of these, situationships have to be the most confusing and exhausting.

The Single Woman Blog calls a situationship "a romantic involvement between two people which include, but not limited to, frequent dating, house visits… parent meeting… friend sharing, sex... lots of sex, and the catching of feelings by at least one person."

Situationship vs Friendship-with-benefits
Both relationships are less than a committed romantic relationship, of course.

However, what sets this relationship apart from a friends-with-benefits relationship and other similar ones is the absolute daze it comes with. Unlike a friends-with-benefits relationship wherein both partners know that they are only on a platonic plane and sex just comes as part of the package, a situationship offers no such definition.

With a FWB relationship, you know your limits, what's acceptable and what could end the relationship. In a situationship, you have nothing; just a perpetual feeling of emptiness.

That cluelessness is the biggest trait of a situationship. And this is not about finding yourself in a situation out of ignorance.

You know what's going on. You know it's not how it should be. You know there's meant to be labels somewhere, and that something ought to be defined – but there's always a reluctance, a fear of the unknown. You worry that any attempt to seek clarity could disrupt what you have and send every shaky illusion you've placed your hopes on tumbling down like a house of cards.

In a situationship, you don't really feel single, but you also don't feel like you are in a committed relationship. And it is the knowledge that you're getting less than you desire, and the helplessness you feel to even try to change it that typifies a situationship above everything else.

Solution
It's always advisable to clarify things earlier on in the relationship. If you have not done so and you find yourself already involved in the uncertainty of a situationship, it's never too late to ask the 'what are we question.

It's far better to know you're not wanted, than being suspended in a cloud of possibilities that could eventually lead to agonizing disappointment.

Tonto Dikeh reunites with missing sister after 36 years

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has finally found her lost sister and her son after 36 years of separation.

It would be recalled that Tonto Dikeh received a prophecy from Pastor Jerry Eze about how her lost family member will be found soon. It appears that the prophecy came to pass as the actress has shared a video of her lost sister, Eve Chinyere, and her son for the first time in 36 years.

Tonto Dikeh took to her page to recount how the reunion happened. She wrote:

Here's a first look at Biodun Stephen's 'A Simple Lie'

The romantic comedy is Stephen's third confirmed project of the year    

Already being tagged one of Nollywood's busiest directors of the year, 'Breaded Life' director Biodun Stephen is back on set.

This time, the filmmaker is shooting a romantic comedy titled 'A Simple Lie' in collaboration with David Wade production, co-producers of her hit movie 'Breaded Life'.

Production recently kicked off for the new romcom with behind the scene photos already making the rounds.

Recall Stephen first unveiled the film's cast in an Instagram post announcing the new production. It stars Bisola Aiyeola, Emmanuel Ikubese, Bolaji Ogunmola, Kie Kie Adeaga and Kachi Nnochiri.

The new project comes barely weeks after the director wrapped up filming Anthill Studio's new satire 'Progressive Tailor's Club'.

Nigerian socialite Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest has gifted his former boss Obi Cubana 46 cows for his mother's burial.

The celebrity barman as he likes to be called took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, where he shared videos of the gift presentation.

According to him, the 46 cows represents his former boss's age.

Princess Shyngle has waded into the Moesha Boduong repentance saga as she wonders what her new church may have done to her.

Moesha in a viral video disclosed that she has emptied her account and sold her Range Rover because she is now born again. "Did you guys get her hypnotized or what did they do to her?" Princess Shyngle asked.

Commenting on reports about how Moesha lost her properties in this short while, Princess Shyngle has dropped an audio conversation she had with her colleague actress, revealing that she Moesha) told her about giving her properties to the Church.


"At this point, for her to acting that way and take all her stuff and give it away, that's just wrong," the Gambian actress who now lives in the U.S said, during an Instagram live session,

According to her "the last time I spoke to my friend, I think I have a recording, let me play it for you, so you guys can listen because we spoke over 3 hours and she told me herself that she is giving out her things to the Church".

She continued that "I think I have even have that recording with her own voice saying it so people won't think I am making this up or I am lying" and played a recording of Moesha speaking in the video below.

However, The Revelation Church has denied this allegation. In a Press Statement released today, it said "We would like to categorically state that at no time has Maurecia or any member of her family given any properties, cars or sale proceeds to either the lead Pastor or the Church. This is variable and any other claim is blatant from the pit of hell".

United Nations– We should make the internet a safer place, but it doesn’t need to be at the expense of fundamental rights

The United Nations on Wednesday July 14 warned that regulation of social media threatens rights of people.

The international group stated that public and private actors are intervening against online content in ways that curtail rights and muzzle criticism.

It also disclosed that 40 new laws regulating social media have been adopted around the world in the past two years, with 30 more under examination.

Peggy Hicks of the UN Rights Office in Geneva said;

"You see a digital world that is unwelcoming and frequently unsafe for people trying to exercise their rights.

"You also see a host of government and company responses that risk making the situation worse.

"Virtually every country that has adopted laws relating to online content has jeopardised human rights in doing so.

"In responding to public pressure to regulate online content, "some governments see such legislation as a way to limit speech they dislike and even silence civil society and critics.

"We can, and should, make the internet a safer place, but it doesn't need to be at the expense of fundamental rights."

Hicks who pointed out that the problem of "overbroad or ill-defined language" crossed ideological lines, from Vietnam to Australia, and Bangladesh to Singapore, also underscored the "critical importance of adopting human rights-based approaches to confronting these challenges."

She added that "we need to sound a loud and persistent alarm, given the tendency for flawed regulations to be cloned, and bad practices to flourish."

The UN official also pointed to calls in Britain for stringent regulations in response to online racist attacks against three black England players who missed penalties in Sunday's Euro 2020 final.

Laura Ikeji, a socialite, has called out after being allegedly duped by a cookie salesman.

Laura claims she bought a biscuit for her daughter and was surprised when the vendor offered her a little biscuit for N100.

The businesswoman claimed that the last time she purchased the biscuit, it was three for N5, and she was shocked to learn that it is now N100.

2 Found Dead At Former Versace Mansion Day Before Anniversary Of Designer’s Death

Two people were found dead Wednesday in a hotel room at the former Versace mansion in South Florida, Miami Beach police said.

Two males were discovered by housekeeping staff at The Villa Casa Casuarina around 1:20 p.m. police said. Police did not say how the pair died.
 
The discovery was made the day before the 24th anniversary of the murder of famed fashion designer Gianni Versace, who was gunned down outside the mansion.


Versace, then 50, was shot twice in the back of the head as he opened the iron gates of his mansion after having breakfast at the News Cafe a few blocks away. The assailant was identified as Andrew Cunanan, a serial killer who preyed on gay men as he traveled from California to Florida, and who took his own life eight days later inside a houseboat after a lengthy standoff.

It is still not known if Cunanan and Versace knew each other intimately, but photos of the men at the same event months before the murder imply they may have met. The Versace family has fought allegations that the two might have been lovers.

The mansion, called the Villa Casa Casuarina, which was kitted out with marble, gilded mirrors and plenty of mosaic tiles imported from Italy, has undergone a series of transitions since Vercace's murder. It is currently a boutique hotel with 10 rooms running upwards of $1,800 a night. The hotel has a swanky restaurant where Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather met before their epic boxing match at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami police responded to a call from the housekeeping staff at the luxury hotel shortly after 1:20pm on Wednesday after they discovered the dead men in an upstairs room.

A source close to the staff told The Daily Beast that the room was not in disarray and that they suspected a suicide pact or murder-suicide in some of the most lavish surroundings in Florida.

Miami police have not given details of the scene, but there is no manhunt currently underway, implying that they do not suspect an outsider. They said a death —not murder—investigation is currently underway.

After the murder of Versace, his live-in boyfriend at the time, Antonio D'Amico, told The Daily Beast that various accounts of Versace's life have been exploited and fictionalized. His murder was the subject of American Crime Story, which the Versace family said was a "work of fiction."

Charles Podesta, Versace's butler, recalled the fateful day his beloved boss was murdered, describing the popping sound he thought was fireworks just after 9 a.m. when he was in the kitchen helping prepare breakfast for his boss.

Podesta's voice can be heard on the 911 call telling the operator, "A man's been shot. Please, immediately, please." When the operator asks for more information, Podesta says, "I don't know, he was walking in front of his home. It's Gianni Versace." Podesta told The Daily Beast when the series came out that the day Versace died was unusual, starting with the fact that the designer rarely, if ever, went out to get his own newspapers. The fact he did put him on the marble steps leading up to the villa and in Cunanan's sights. Podesta has always wondered if it was just a coincidence that the killer happened upon him. Had he not gone out for the papers, would he still be alive?

Podesta managed the Versace household after the murder and until it was sold. During that time, he created the "Versace experience" for personal friends of the designer who would come to pay respects. He would create the exact ambiance that Versace would have created for the guests. Eventually, when the family sold the villa, Podesta moved on.

After 7 years of marriage, American singer, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and his wife, actress Nicole Pantenburg have broken up.,

The pair announced their split, in a joint statement shared with PEOPLE Wednesday, .

"After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage," the now-former couple said.

"We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being," they added, referring to daughter Peyton Nicole, 12. "We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family."

It's unclear what led to the split between Edmonds, 62, and Pantenburg, 48.

The Grammy award-winning singer and producer began dating the actress back in 2007, and they married seven years later in 2014. At the time, the couple tied the knot in front of a group of celebrity guests including Oprah Winfrey, among others.

Pantenburg is Edmonds' third wife, according to Hot New Hip Hop. The artiste was previously married to his first wife, Denise, and then to his second wife, Tracey Edmonds, who he met in 1990 and wed two years later.

The "Every Time I Close My Eyes" singer and his second wife welcomed two children together; sons Brandon and Dylan before divorcing 13 years later in 2005.
