| Billboard Tag Wizkid’s Songs “Yoruba Music” Posted: 24 Jul 2021 12:00 AM PDT  Wizkid's record-breaking song, Essence has been tagged Yoruba music by American music and entertainment magazine, Billboard.The song broke remarkable records on the Billboard Hot 100 and World Digital Song Sales charts. It topped the Billboard World Digital Songs Sales list. While acknowledging the song in a tweet post by Billboard on their official Twitter page, "Essence" was identified as a Yoruba music.  "Essence," from Wizkid's 2020 album Made in Lagos, is primarily sung in English but includes lyrics in Yoruba. The African language is predominantly spoken in Southwestern Nigeria, precisely the location of his native, and album namesake, Largos. It is the first song featuring vocals in Yoruba to grace the Global charts. This influx of Nigerian talent onto the Global 200 is not just a breakthrough for the country, but continues a burst of chart activity from Africa. Global chart action from the continent has mostly been limited to "Jerusalema" by Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikode (both from South Africa) and Burna Boy (Nigeria), which has spent 45 weeks on the Global Excl. U.S. chart so far, peaking at No. 18 in October. Wes (Cameroon) was also co-billed with Robin Schulz on "Alane," which spent three weeks on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. | Oyedepo speaks on the sack of multiple pastors of his church Posted: 23 Jul 2021 10:30 PM PDT  Bishop David Oyedepo, the President and Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners Chapel Worldwide, has finally spoken about the sack of some pastors.Recall that a pastor named Peter Godwin alleged that he and over 40 other pastors were sacked in Ekiti state for not generating enough income from their branches. Another pastor called InChristed Michael also took to Facebook to claim he too is a "victim" and added that many more pastors were fired in other states (read here). Reacting, David Oyedepo said the pastors were sacked because they were blatant failures who weren't bearing fruits. He said: "I learnt some fellow said we asked them to go because they're not bringing income. "We asked you to go because you're unfruitful. Unfruitful blatant failure… doing what there? "We have no patient with failure here." As for those on social media calling his church out for the sack, he said they were all silent when he employed pastors on a large scale.
