"The initial plan was to confront him but in the process I knew it could get violent, the installation was to capture if the scene would get violent.

"I did not believe he (Baba Ijesha) would repeat the same function now that she is grown."

Uduak Akpan, the self-confessed killer of Iniubong Umoren, the Akwa Ibom graduate lured out of her home with a fake job interview, on Monday pleaded guilty to the murder.

He was arraigned before a State High Court judge in Uyo. Recall that Miss Umoren was r*ped and killed in April on the outskirts of Uyo by Akpan who the police in Akwa Ibom State described as a serial r*pist.

She was buried in a shallow grave in Akpan's family house where the crime was committed. Akpan, who was arraigned alongside his father, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge of rape.

The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday adjourned the child molestation case against embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha. 

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo while delivering judgment, adjourned the matter after the counsel for comedienne Adekola Adekanya, commonly known as Princess, played primary evidence against the embattled actor.

During plenary, Princess told the court that she met Baba Ijesha at an event in 2008 and the two decided to collaborate on comedic sketches. She claims he wooed her during their working relationship but she declined his proposal.

After then, Princess stated she became close to the actor, especially after her marriage ended in 2013.  The comedian claimed she put money into Baba Ijesha's schooling, and the actor later paid her a visit at her house.

She told Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo about the allegation of child abuse against the actor, which included Baba Ijesha and actress Iyabo Ojo.

Recall that Baba Ijesha was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of comedienne Princess. He was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault.
