Women are almost twice as likely to forgive cheating a partner than a man would, say researchers.

Of course, what this means, first of all, is that despite what many think, men do not stand alone in the vile game of cheating.

That aside and back to the issue of cheating and why women are more likely to forgive a cheating man than he would forgive them if the tables were turned.

According to a 2017 survey of over 1,200 people by Illicit Encounters, a dating website for married people, 60% of women had previously forgiven a partner for cheating on them, while just 38% of men said they'd be up for forgiving a partner were they to cheat.

The researchers think this is because women tend to be more likely to believe they have the ability to change their partner. Only 20% of men believe they'd be able to change a cheater.

According to Metro UK, "basically, men reckon that the saying 'once a cheat, always a cheat' is true, while women are more likely to dismiss cheating as a one time thing that can be worked through together."

And the effect of this is that due to this forgiving nature of women, they are more likely to be cheated on because if a partner doesn't see any consequences for an affair, they're likely to do it again.

A spokesperson for Illicit Encounters puts it simply by saying: "If your actions are less likely to have consequences, then you'll have no problem acting upon your desires.

"In other words, if you know you can have an affair and get away with it, what's stopping you from cheating?

"Unfortunately, this sends out the wrong kind of signal to men, and many take advantage of it."

If the cycle continues in the manner this study result paints, women still have a lot more forgiving to do and men will keep forgetting to return the gesture.

The masquerade is native to Lagos state and comes out during the Eyo festival held in Lagos. The Ekpo masquerades, just like in many parts of Nigeria, are believed by the people to be spirit beings brought back to the land of the living. They are native to the Efik, Ibibio and Anang people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states, though some parts of Igbo land have also adopted them. They usually consist of ugly black face masks and a straw body. Sometimes, the face is just as large as the body.

Ekpe masquerade is a visual cultural reference to the Leopard society, since its costume, makeup and props define it as such. The Ekpe society is the most renowned traditional institution in Efik history, not just because of its spiritual or cultic functions, but also for the fact that the institution was a pre-colonial police and judiciary system.

Talent manager, Obama DMW's son Abdulmaleek, has expressed gratitude to music stars Davido and Tiwa Savage, for filling the gap his father left when he passed away.

In an almost three minutes video he shared on his Instagram page, Abdulmaleek said he's still overwhelmed by the show of love from people in general, but it's spectacular from Davido and Tiwa Savage.

"I'm most overwhelmed by the love coming from everyone, especially from uncle David (Davido) and aunty Tiwa (Tiwa Savage)," he said.

Revealing how much he missed the late Davido's associate, Abdulmaleek said it never occurred to him until now that he would need someone to talk to, and the deceased would be nowhere to give him an audience.

"It is really sad knowing that from now, you won't be there to celebrate my victories, console me when I fail, encourage me when I feel like giving up. I wish we had more time together; I wish we could even create more memories together, I wish we could trade lives because I will give you mine in a heartbeat, but life hasn't given me that option,"

The Obama DMW's son, however, pledged to look after his sister, as the deceased did for them during his lifetime.

Actor, Sam Nnabuike tells Igbos —“Stop building luxurious mansions in your villages”

Nollywood actor, Sam Nnabuike expressed his dissatisfaction towards the culture of Igbos building mansions valued at millions of naira in their hometowns.

In a series of posts shared on his Insta stories, Sam Nnabuike who stated that the culture is common among the Igbo people of Nigeria stated that it is not a smart thing to do.


According to the Nollywood actor, if anyone is not considering running for public office, such a person has no business building a multi-million naira mansion in his village.

He also explained that his understanding of the Igbo saying –Aku ruo uno (wealth that reaches home), is all about selflessly helping one's kinsmen, the needy and weak in one's paternal and maternal communities, and providing succour for widows.

Sam Nnabuike wrote on his Instagram page;

"In my understanding, AKU RUO UNO is selflessly giving a helping hand to your kinsmen, helping the needy and weak in your paternal/maternal communities, providing succor for the widows, and ultimately helping to put your hometown on the map positively.

"I am not saying don't build houses in your hometown or villages. No, that's far from it. Build a moderate home of 4 to 6 bedroom bungalow or duplex where you and your family can always run into when you visit your hometown.

"If you aren't looking to run for politics in the nearest future as a wealthy man. You have no business building a multi-million naira mansion in your hometown. Period."

Recall that Sam Nnabuike had earlier appealed to Igbo mothers to kindly desist from heaping pressure on their daughters to bring home wealthy suitors for marriage.

Singer, Paul Okoye — “Don’t give testimony until everything is done, it attracts evil spirit”

Singer and ex-member of the defunct PSquare group, Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy, has revealed that a premature testimony can attract bad spirits to a person

He made this statement in a post on his Instagram stories hours ago, today Thursday 12 August.

According to the father of one, it is very important for people to delay their testimonies until everything involved in their plans or achievement has been sealed.

This Paul Okoye says, is because bad spirits are lurking around and will be attracted to a "premature testimony" — as he puts it.


While taking to Instagram to dish out the advice to his followers, Paul Okoye wrote;

"Teach your self not to announce testimony, until everything is seal, premature testimony attract ev*l spirit"

Popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi opens up on the current state of her health which she has been battling for a few days.

According to the mother of one, the last few days has been tough on her due to the state of her body that seems unwell even after series of treatment.

Sharing a video of herself, Toyin Abraham emphasized the importance of good health.

"Over the last few days, I've been very ill, still, I was shooting my new movie for my YouTube channel and also running errands for the Ghost and the Tout too premiere.


"Beyond all the glitz, glam and strong moments y'all see here most times, these videos are some of the unglamorous behind-the-scene moments you don't always get to see. And no, I'm not trying to share everything with the world, I'm just trying to remind us that social media life is a curated life and the only reason we see the things we see here, is because we choose to let you see them.

See how my husband @kolawoleajeyemi and PAs joyfully set me up with videos during a steam inhalation moment after getting back from the hospital," she wrote.

Justin Bieber Was featured On Wizkid's song -‘Essence’ remix

Grammy Award-winning singer, Wizkid has featured Canadian pop star Justin Bieber on the remix of his popular "Essence" song, which is off his "Made in Lagos" album.

Recall that on Thursday, Big Wiz teased the collaboration on his Twitter page when he tweeted: "Got Something special for you guys tomorrow."


Later in the day, Wizkid also made the announcement of the collaboration via an Instagram post with a poster that read, "Wizkid. Tems. Justin Bieber. Essence".

Meanwhile, in a similar post, Justin Bieber on his social media page has thanked Wizkid for the chance to collaborate with him on the song.

He wrote, captioning the post on his Instagram page;

"Thank u for letting me jump on the song of the summer. Essence remix out now"

Originally featuring upcoming Nigerian singer Tems, the song broke records and became a favorite among both Nigerians and the international audience early this year.

Essence has since then performed very well on streaming sites as well as local and international charts.

In July 2021, Essence became the first Nigerian song in history to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200!
