Diverse Careers in Economics Conference, Nov 16-18

The virtual conference will provide undergraduate students majoring in economics or related fields information on a range of career paths. Through panels of seasoned and early career professionals in the field, students will hear how economists' personal experiences and perspectives influenced their careers. Through engaging sessions from diverse presenters, students will also learn about the job sectors available to those seeking the economics profession and ways to pursue internships.

The event is being hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in partnership with Undergraduate Women in Economics and the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond.

The virtual conference is complimentary but registration is required. Please register by Friday, November 12.

Paid Internship Opportunity with the Maryland Chamber of Commerce

As Maryland's only statewide business advocacy organization, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce amplifies the voices and speaks for thousands of job creators, employers and employees to impact how policy is shaped in Annapolis.

The Chamber is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a public policy, political science, international relations or other related field to fill the position of a Government Affairs Intern. The duties and responsibilities of the position include:
  • Providing support to the government affairs team in order to provide timely and accurate reports, position papers, testimony, legislative-related documents and correspondence to legislators, members and other constituency groups;
  • Supporting the Legislative, and other policy committees of the Maryland Chamber with regard to preparing, updating, and maintaining committee lists, agendas, meeting notices, RSVPs, materials and correspondence.
  • Aid in database management
  • Other duties as assigned.
This position is paid and requires both remote and in-person work in Annapolis.
