Comedian and actress, Etinosa Idemudia, is bereaved as she has lost her dad. Etinosa shared the sad news on her Instagram page this afternoon, September 19.

She wrote;

"Dear dad, Engr S.O.

I know no one lives forever but I never thought I will be writing this so soon. When you left my house barely 2 weeks ago you said you will be back. Look I even made a big family diner in the garden so the next time you come we will all sit there and chill. So you won't be coming back? This is by far the worst pain I've ever had to deal with. But It's fine.
You were too good for this world anyway.

You lived an exemplary life. Without words you impacted not just me but everyone you came across. You taught me the true meaning of righteousness- doing the right thing irrespective of how many people are doing the wrong. Always doing good was your lifestyle.

Talk about work ethics:
Never have I seen a more principled and organised person in my life with an intimidating curriculum vitae, lists of national and international achievements yet so humble.

Family/Social life:
You always put us first, your only social life was family and church.

Thank you for being my loving father, my role model, protector, provider, for impacting me with wisdom and the spirit of excellence upon and within you. Thank you for being a living manual of what a decent man should be. The perfect role model.

Goodbye dad. These tears I cry are just because I miss you and I selfishly want you here with me forever but to be honest, I take joy in the confidence that you are in a better place resting. Where there is no pain, no sickness, no strife, no struggle. I take joy in the knowledge that you will live forever. Forever in our hearts, in our memories, through your legacy and in my DNA. REVIEW: In “KOB: The Return of The King,” Kemi Adetiba challenges notion of heroine

Posted: 19 Sep 2021 03:44 PM PDT

Movie Title: KING OF BOYS: THE RETURN OF THE KING series.

Running Time: 7hrs 19mins.

Director: Kemi Adetiba.

Lead Cast: Sola Sobowale, Nse-Ikpe Etim, Illbliss, Toni Tones, Dapo Banjo, Akin Lewis, Reminisce and Charly Boy.

Date of Release: August 21,2021

The 'new Nollywood' owes its success and growth to technical and cinematic improvements as well as a newer breed of storytellers and filmmakers poised to make an impact.

But what has gained the least attention in the 'New Nollywood Tales' is the idea of a different kind of female lead character, or if you like, a heroine, for whom romantic aspiration is not the main goal.

The idea of a female lead who longs for male attention is not entirely a bad idea. But in typical Nollywood films, actresses are often portrayed as either seeking to find love or finding Mr Right.

But Eniola Salami, the lead character in KOB, perfectly portrayed by Sola Sobowale, wants more.

We have often wondered who will better tell women stories? And is gender a relevant criterion?

It seems Genevieve Nnaji answered the question with 'Lionheart', Mo Abudu with 'Fifty' and now it appears as though Adetiba has broken stereotypes in KOB by telling a story of a female villain who challenges the notion of a heroine.

PLOT
In the seven-part Netflix original series, Adetiba relieves in continuation, the return of Salami, her lead character in the feature-length film, 'King of Boys.'

Salami returns to the country bitter about the defeats she had endured. This time around, she is seeking a higher good by contesting for a leadership position in Lagos.

Hooliganism earned Laburu (the evil incarnate) an empire of fame around political heavyweights in the country. To reclaim her position after a long exile, Salami contends with old adversaries (Aare Akinwande and Makanaki) and newer rivals (Odudubariba, Jumoke Randle, Dapo Banjo, Rev. Ifeanyi, and Governor Tunde Randle) and must fight for the power she feels most deserving of.

Popularly known as the King of Boys, Salami will later embrace corruption, violence, and blackmail to actualise her vengeful desires.

Jumoke, the first lady, is one feisty character portrayed by Nse Ikpe-Etim who makes complex decisions for her husband, Tunde Randle, the governor of Lagos State. Bent on ensuring that he returns for a second term, she leads the contest on his behalf against Eniola.

How smoking leads to hair loss

Posted: 19 Sep 2021 09:00 AM PDT

Smoking cigarettes can have a damaging effect on your hair and your hairline.

Your hair requires oxygen, nutrients and minerals to be healthy but, smoking can prevent these nutrients from reaching your hair follicles.

Cigarettes contain 7000 chemicals and, 70 of them are carcinogenic; it is no wonder that cigarettes can lead to hair loss.

Smoking releases toxic chemicals that affect blood circulation, shrink blood vessels, and stop hair follicles from receiving the blood they need for growth.

Arash Babadjouni, a doctor in Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine together with other researchers carried out a study on mice to see if exposure to cigarette smoke would cause alopecia (a condition that causes your hair to fall out) and premature grey hairs.

Different studies revealed that smoking is related to alopecia. The majority of smokers were diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia.

Cigarette smoke contains free radicals. Free radicals are harmful molecules that can damage your cell's DNA and cause oxidative stress. Research has shown that hair on balding scalps is sensitive to oxidative stress and that a damaged DNA cell affects hair growth.

Smoking also affects the circulation of blood in your body and causes your blood vessels to be blocked by plaque, (a clot like substance that blocks blood flow to your arteries).

When your arteries do not get enough blood, your scalp is also deprived of blood and this

Check out difference between iPhone13 and iPhone 12

Posted: 19 Sep 2021 08:00 AM PDT

Apple unveiled iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 mini in a live launch event on Tuesday, September 14, 2021

Apple just launched two new phones. iPhone 13 is a 6.1-inch model and, iPhone 13 mini is 5.4 inches.

When the phone arrived, many Twitter users had some negative feedback about it.

They said it was essentially the same as the iPhone 12. How true is this? Did Apple release essentially the same phone?

The extent of the difference between the two phones will influence your decision to buy them or not.

Compared to iPhone 12 A14 Bionic processor, iPhone 13 has an A15 Bionic processor which means it is faster and efficient.

The two models of iPhone 13 boast better storage with a storage capacity of 128GB compared to 64GB in iPhone 12 and iPhone12 mini.

It is also believed that iPhone 13 would have a longer battery life than iPhone 12. According to Apple, it will last 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12. iPhone 13 pro max is believed to last 2.5 hours.

Of course, this new iPhone also boasts a better camera and conversely a better picture. Apple included a sensor-shift optical image stabilization feature that is also in iPhone 12, but it allegedly gives more detail to darker images because of its ultrawide lens.

Tom's Guide writes, "iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini offer a 12MP main camera that has the biggest sensor ever used in a dual-camera iPhone. It should let in 47% more light than the iPhone 12" This means that it would work better in low light than the iPhone12 and bring out sharper images."

But it still looks essentially like iPhone 12 except for the placement of the camera.

Plus, new colours are added. Sierra blue and pink are added to the already existing colours of midnight black, starlight white, blue, red, graphite, gold, and silver.

Apple also says that iPhone13 is more supportive of 5G technology.

The iPhone 13 costs $829 for 128GB, while the iPhone 13 Mini costs $729 for 128GB of storage. Converting it to the prevailing exchange rate will be the price in Nigeria.

Do you think Apple should have brought another model into the market and these features warranted a new iPhone?

Man narrates how his parents threw him away when he was born and vows never to forgive them

Posted: 19 Sep 2021 03:00 AM PDT

A man has narrated how his own parents threw him into the bush after giving birth to him as a disabled child.

According to the heartbroken man, it was his grandfather who found him and picked him up after his parents threw him away.

His grandfather later opened up to him years later concerning the conditions of his birth after he kept on asking about the whereabouts of his parents.

He insisted that he would never forgive them for throwing him away and leaving him to suffer.

He narrated;

'I will never forgive my parents ever. My parents hated me the first day they saw me. They were not interested in having me as a son at all. They threw me into the bush and that has not been easy for me. I live with a lot of anger and most times I'm alone.

I hardly believe what my own parents did to me. I am always lonely. I run away from people and sometimes, I keep crying.

When my parents found out I'm still alive, they felt guilty and they couldn't come close to me.

It all started when they gave birth to me and I came out disabled. People called me a meaningless child and my parents listened and threw me away. My grandfather found out that they had thrown me away. He picked me and gave me another chance to live.'

Lady who left church to marry a native doctor, shares story – "This is my true calling"

Posted: 19 Sep 2021 02:30 AM PDT

A lady has narrated how she ditched Christianity to get married to a native doctor who pronounced her as his wife.

Sharing her story to BBC Pidgin, the lady identified as Lolo Eblechukwu Obi said she was appointed to be the wife of the Chiefpriest.

She said in the interview;

"I don't regret marrying a native doctor at all. When I first got married to him, all my friends mocked me because I was a serious church member before. I was a prayer warrior and even part of the Jerichodestroyers in church.

So when they heard I married a native doctor, they were laughing that after all my church things, I married Chiefpriest.

Before I used to see native doctors and shrine as bad things. But when I married my husband, I was convinced that there is nothing wrong with it because some pastors have been coming here to meet my husband for help. I always had the prophecy that I will be a great woman.

Many people, even my friends are happy with me now because I'm doing well. My name is Lolo Ebelechukwu Chukwu Obi and I am proudly the wife of Chiefpriest, Idemili cultural center Agulu.

It started when I visited him and the shrine told him this girl coming is his wife and I will be the one to take care of him till old age.

At first, I was looking at his age and looking at myself. I did not know what to say so I did not respond.

After Nicki Minaj was dragged by health experts over her claim that her cousin's testicles got swollen when he took the COVID-19 vaccine, Joe Egbu, husband of gospel singer Sinach, has reacted.

Recently, American rapper, Nicki Minaj was accused of spreading misinformation about side effects of the Coronavirus vaccine, with claim of her cousin's friend's testicles swelling after receiving the jab and subsequently becoming impotent. She claimed it happened in Trinidad.

However Trinidad's Health minister, Terrence Deyalsingh said the rapper wasted their time as there is no report of such in the country.

Deyalsingh said;

"As we stand now, there is absolutely no reported side effect or adverse event of testicular swelling in Trinidad… and none that we know of anywhere in the world."

Sharing a video of Fox News Tucker Carlson defending Nicki Minaj and also claiming that "free speech is under attack" in the United States, Joe Egbu wondered when "being knowledgeable about what you take inside your body became an offence."
