| Posted: 23 Sep 2021 01:00 AM PDT  Ghanaian media personality, Kwame Oboadie has revealed how his love for fufu stopped him from pursuing a career in football.The popular media personality made the recent revelation in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay show.According to Kwame Oboadie, he had to choose between the local delicacy "fufu", and his own promising football career. He said: "I wasn't able to become the footballer I had always wished to be because I loved fufu so much. Anytime I got back from playing soccer, my parents will reserve cooked cassava with soup for me to eat because according to them, I failed to help them pound it. It went on and on until they devised a new strategy to trigger me to stay at home and not play football anymore. This time around, they crushed the fufu into lumps and poured the soup on it so it get spoilt anytime I return from the field. I changed my mind and stopped playing football so I can get to eat some good fufu. I chose fufu over my football career."  | ||

| South Africa Defeats Super Falcons of Nigeria And Emerge Champions of Aisha Buhari Cup Posted: 22 Sep 2021 03:44 PM PDT  The Banyana Banyana of South Africa have won the Aisha Buhari Cup following a breathtaking performance on the final match day, September 21.The maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women's tournament, called the Aisha Buhari Cup (ABC), witnessed a thrilling finale at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday evening.All the participating teams played just two matches each with the team with the highest points tally emerging as the champions. Banyana Banyana opened the scoring as early as the 6th minute following an own goal by Alozie Michelle. Minutes later, Onome Ebi committed a foul in the danger area as the South African's extended their lead after Motlhalo Linda converted from the spot; 2-0. In the 20th minute, Nigeria thought they were back in the game but Desire Oparanozie's effort was canceled-out after referee adjudged a foul in the build-up. On the final day, it was more of a 'war' than the friendly match it was meant to be as both teams showed why they are Africa's powerhouses, when it comes to women's football. Nollywood top actors involving Jide Kosoko, Fred Amata, Yemi Solade, Emeka Osai and many others joined other colleagues in the industry to Picket Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja.According to eye witnesses, the creatives led by the Copyright Management Organisation, Audio Visuals Right Society on Tuesday disrupted activities at the hotel for what they have described as the management's refusal to pay royalties for its use of audio-visual contents in its chain of hotels.The movie producer and Chairman of the Copyright Management Organisation, Mahmood Ali-Balogun, said picketting became a last resort after months of dialogue and negotiations broke down without any agreement being reached.

| King Sunny Ade’s Wife, Risikat Adegeye Passes On Posted: 22 Sep 2021 03:00 AM PDT  A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and wife of legendary musician, King Sunny Ade , Hon Risikat Ajoke Adegeye is dead.The deceased who was also a former Chairmanship Aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday.Adegeye, a devoted and loyal party member of the APC, died after a brief sickness.  As of press time, the cause of her death was unknown. A source said that the death could have been as a result of cancer which the deceased had battled for a long time before she succumbed finally to death. However, Mr George Folarin Olawande, confirmed the death on behalf of the family in a statement on Tuesday. The statement read in part: "We wish to formally inform, friends, well-wishers, political associates, and the general public that Hon Risikat Ajoke Adegeye passed on after a brief illness during the early hours of Tuesday, 21st September 2021. "Hon Risikat Ajoke Adegeye was a Honourable Member in the 6th Assembly of the Lagos State House of Assembly. "She will be greatly missed not only by her immediate family but also by her political associates and followers. Further information in respect to her burial ceremony will be announced later after extensive consultations with the family. "Thank you as we pray that she continues to rest peacefully and eternally with the Almighty God." The deceased was a two-time member of the Assembly Service Commission. Her marriage to the Juju music maestro produced six male children. KSA was yet to release a statement as at the time of filing this report.  | ||

Just the other day, DStv announced it will be launching DStv Flex, which is a cheaper version of its Premium package at a reduced cost. The price cuts come from the idea that a customer can pick which channels to watch, making the whole service 'flexible' especially at times when there are no football matches to guarantee the high price of Premium.Today, MultiChoice has announced the availability of DStv Internet, but similar to the aforementioned Flex, the fixed wireless access service is only available in its native South Africa.First reported by BusinessTech, the development reveals that DStv Internet will offer internet services using a Wi-Fi router and a SIM card.The service is also handy for groups that do not have access to fibre in their homes or residential areas, but want to access the internet using a variety of devices without making a dent on their phone plans.
