DJ Switch – We Will Be Standing Up To Our Oppressors Starting From Lai Mohammed

Popular Nigerian entertainer, DJ Switch has said that Nigerian leaders are afraid of youths and have failed to create an enabling environment for them to thrive and contribute.

In her speech at the Oslo Freedom Forum, the entertainer referenced Fela Anikulapo Kuti's 1977 hit song, Zombie, where he likened the Nigerian Army to Zombies, saying they are like 'mindless zombies following idiotic orders.'

DJ Switch who gained prominence after doing a live video of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting last October, also chided Nigeria's Minister of Information and Culture who she described as one of the country's 'oppressors'.


She said;

"As an artiste and a DJ, I listen to music a lot all the time and I am reminded of the legend — the artiste, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. He was known for speaking truth to power with his music and I am reminded of his 1977 song titled, Zombie. Here, Fela likens the Nigerian military to mindless zombies following idiotic orders. It was relevant then, it is relevant today and it is most likely relevant tomorrow, in the future.

"The same future that they say is in the hands of the leaders of tomorrow, but what we have tomorrow are recycled leaders of today who have failed to provide an enabling environment for young leaders to thrive and contribute. But they chose, instead to kill us all off one by one.

"This might sound outrageous to you and you might wonder why; I will tell you. Our leaders are afraid; it is as simple as that. They are afraid of a thinking, innovative and collaborative working Nigeria. They are afraid of every young Nigerian who, against all odds, have made it for themselves.

"They are afraid of a 'me'; the coconut head generation as we like to call ourselves. We are hard-headed, we are not easily deceived by propaganda. We stand up to our oppressors, starting with the Nigerian Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.

"Yes, you heard me right. The Nigerian Minister for Information, our very own spin doctor, his first name is 'Lie'. It is inevitable, right? The pun is begging me. 'Lie' called the shooting a fabrication of a massacre without bodies. He said I was a purveyor of fake news with an intent of tarnishing the nation's image and I am a terrorist among other things.

"The Nigerian Army called the shooting fake and I had made the whole thing up with a green screen. Yes, I have plans of going to Hollywood after this speech."

Tiwa Savage - I've being blackmailed over s3xtape of me and my boyfriend

Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has revealed that she is being blackmailed over a sex tape she did with the guy she's currently dating.

The Afro Beats singer said this during an interview with power105.1 host, Angie Martins in NewYork.

According to her, her road manager sent her the sex tape which the supposed blackmailer forwarded to him.

She further revealed that both her and the guy she's currently in a relationship with panicked about it.


However, she noted that after some thoughts, she decided that she won't pay a dime to whoever it was, adding that nobody can defraud her for doing something that's natural.

"So I got into my car after an interview and my road manager calls me and be like Tiwa check your WhatsApp messages.

"I opened them and saw a sex tape of me and the guy am currently dating calls me back to say someone sent it to him and the person is threatening to release it if a ransom isn't paid.

"At first I panicked, even the guy I'm dating panicked too. But then after some careful deliberations I said I won't pay.

"What if they release it even after I have paid or even come back two months later to request for another ransom?

"That's what I asked myself. I was like they should go ahead and release, nobody will make me pay for doing something that's natural," she said.

Tonto Dikeh calls out Witches for being disrespectful to her

Tonto Dikeh didn't share her dream with her but it was obvious she was eating in her dream and was served half meat and half fish which got her angry and took to social media to bursts it out asking the witches in her dream to respect her.

According to her, they don't call her OBA in real life for nothing therefore, the dreamland should respect her real life and not repeat what they did to her by giving her half meat and half fish in her dream for what exactly.


Tonto Dikeh then made fun of the whole issue by saying even the witches are now being stingy asking how they can serve her half meat and half fish in her dream and that makes them so disrespectful to do that to her in the first place.

Every dream has a meaning but it appeared Tonto Dikeh wasn't interested in the meaning of her dream hence just made fun of it calling the witches in her dream stingy and asking dreamland to respect her real life.

Netizens reacting to her post were only laughing because the way she put it was just funny but a few of them tried to draw her attention to the fact that the dream has a meaning and she should try and understand what it means.

Niyola –‘Leaving Banky W’s EME Wasn’t A Happy Event’

Niyola, a Nigerian singer and actress, has spoken about her exit from Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) headed by Banky W.

Niyola, in a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, faulted the defunct record label for marketing her wrongly because of their business strategy.

The 'Toh Bad' crooner added she wasn't happy leaving EME.  "When a female artiste wants to do music, the first thing any man will think of as a business man is be sexy…i'm sexy, i'm smart, i love God but it is also important to find a person or people who understand that…"

"I think that to be fair on the label, a lot of times, they just didn't see it, they are business man and did things as far their knowledge carried them…i should have been marketed as who i was and not just as a girl that is pretty and that can sing."

"Leaving EME wasn't a happy event….it was not happy in the sense that when you invest time, your blood and all into something, you want to see it yield results …but it didn't happen as expected…….it was sad for me cos i feel I should have done enough more while there…we are still friends now, i am friends with everyone," Niyola said.

Niyola got signed to Banky W's Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in 2012. EME, in 2018, rebranded to become a talent management company focused on creative marketing, advertising, PR and brand events.

BBNaija: Cross Hangs Out With Nengi And Ozo

Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye star, Cross was all smiles as he meets BBNaija Season 5 Couple, Nengi and Ozo last night.

Cross was spotted hanging out the duo at Ex-housemate, Vee's listening album party.

The Lagos based artist was born and raised in London and moved to Lagos almost a year ago to begin her music career where she has already made great stride.

She also performed at the Palmwine Music Festival in 2019.

One thing that being a housemate in the Big Brother Naija house does is to push people into stardom.

We also recall that Veeiye took to her instagram page to reveal what she has been battling with since she relocated to Nigeria.

According to her, she has been encountering one sickness after another.

Exp-BBNaija Star Pere Features In New Film

Days after leaving the BBNaija house, Shine Ya Eye finalist, Pere has featured in an upcoming film, April Showers.

The reality star, who appeared in the movie with Nollywood stars like Lilian Esoro, Eyinna Nwigwe, Kunle Remi, joined the cast to tell the story of single mums.

The brain behind the film, Sandra Bremaud, also took time to speak on the new film and explained why it is aimed at addressing how rich single mums are treated in society.

Bremaud, who said the film will hit cinemas on October 15, explained that April Showers is deliberately addressing societal issues and was borne out of the feedback of the society.

According to Efe, after he won the reality show, he refused to be 'used' and as a result, they tried to 'finish' him.

Comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu popularly known as Sabinus (Mr Funny) has put smiles on the faces of his parents after he gifted them a new house.

Blogger, Tunde Ednut has been dragged for allegedly campaigning for the renowned politician, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enable him to emerge as president come 2023.

According to the controversial blogger Gistlovers, Tunde Ednut's trip to London was sponsored by the former Lagos state governor and was a cunning way of amassing support for Tinubu.

Popular Actor, Chinwetalu Agu manhandled and arrested

Nigerian soldiers have reportedly arrested popular Nollywood Actor, Chinwetalu Agu in Upper Iweka area of Anambra state.

Reports gathered that the veteran actor was manhandled for putting on an outfit with colours of the Biafran Flag.Agu's vehicle was stopped by soldiers who wasted no time in bringing him out of his bus.

In the video making the rounds on social media, Agu was seen struggling with the soldiers as they dragged him out.


Recall, the Nigerian Government has banned the display of the Biafran Flag in any part of the country.

Last Month, Agu went viral on social media after wearing an outfit made of the Biafran Flag with many Nigerians stating on social media that 'nothing must happen' to the popular thespian.

BBNaija’s Saskay breaks down in tears after receiving huge money cake and other gifts from fans

Fans of ex-housemate of the Big Brother Naija reality show, Saskay, shower their favorite reality star with yet another load of gifts that includes a giant money cake.

This is coming barely a week after the conclusion of the show as the evicted housemate has welcomed more gifts than most of her colleagues.


In the video making rounds on social media, Saskay is spotted unboxing different gift items that include short notes that cost the reality star tears.

The most noticeable of all the gifts is a giant money cake, almost 7-feets tall presented to the reality star, despite not finishing with the finalist.

Governor of Edo State commends BBNaija’s Liquorose over comportment on show

Governor of Edo State, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki applauds the first runner-up of Big Brother Naija reality show, Liquorose for her comportment during the show.

As reported in the Guardian's newspaper, the governor in a statement through his Chief of Staff stated that the ex-housemate's behaviour on the show was nothing but modest and commendable.


"On behalf of the Edo State Government, I congratulate Roseline Afije, also known as Liquorose, on her emergence as the first runner-up in the Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) reality show. She put up a good showing with a dignified poise and character that earned her fans across the country.

"During her time on the show, she was mature and good-natured. It was not surprising that she became fan's favorite in a short time," the statement reads.

Nollywood actress, Evan Okoro has reacted to the brutal treatment meted out on the veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu for wearing an outfit designed with the Biafran flag.

In an earlier report, it was revealed that the Nigerian Army personnel arrested, brutalized and dragged the movie star out of his car due to his outfit which depicted the fact that he is pro-Biafran; a movement proscribed by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Angel’s mum says – “I like Cross, but won’t force him on my daughter”

The mother of the BBNaija star, Angel has stated that she likes Cross but won't force him on her daughter.

She made this statement during a Question and Answer session on her Instagram page where she was asked who she likes apart from her daughter on the show and she mentioned Cross.

A curious follower went ahead to ask, "People are saying her parents are forcing Cross on her. How true is that?"  and she replied saying "We will never force anyone on her."

Popular music icon, 2face Idibia threatens N1Bn defamation lawsuit against a fellow singer, Brymo, over allegations leveled against him.

This is coming 48-hours after Brymo called out the singer on Twitter for allegedly assaulting him physically and also falsely accusing him of sleeping with his wife.

In reaction to the series of tweets, 2Face Idibia threatens to file a lawsuit for one billion naira against Brymo on the grounds of defamation if the singer does not apologize within a specified time.


"The baseless and false accusation has caused unspeakable distress to our client and his family. You have also caused estimation to be lowered in the estimation of his friends, business associates and wilder members of the public and further caused him a significant loss of business," part of the letter read.

BBNaija star, Angel breaks down as she tells what killed her boyfriend

Former Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Angel recently broke down as she narrated what led to the death of her boyfriend.

Recall, during the show, Angel always talked about her deceased boyfriend and how much she misses him.

Speaking on Facebook Live interview with Punch Online, the 21-year-old opened up that he died of mental health issues.

"His death was mental health-related," she said.


She continued;

"It is really important to speak out if you are going through anything whatsoever. I think people find a weakness in vulnerability and I used to be like that; I thought that if I was vulnerable it somehow made me weak. It is especially harder for men because there's a lot of toxic masculinity."

When asked how she has been able to cope in his absence, she said;

"Dealing with grief is not a one-way street; there are days you will feel okay, and there are days you don't want to get up from your bed and want to be left alone. It is a lot of emotions. I was able to recover because I was grateful for the time I spent with him."

Whitemoney reveals strategy he employed in BBNaija house

The winner of the BBNaija Season 6 show, Whitemoney has opened up on the strategy he adopted in the house.

Mazi as he is fondly called made this disclosure during an interview he had with show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as regards his experiences in Big Brother's house.

According to Whitemoney, cooking was 80% of his lifestyle and 20% of his strategy. Whitemoney had witnessed opposition from Pere who decided to expel him from the kitchen during his tenure as HoH while claiming that he was using the kitchen as a strategy to win the hearts of viewers and housemates.

In Whitemoney's words:

"It was 80% lifestyle and 20% strategy. 80% lifestyle in the sense that the kitchen, washing the dishes and everything is what I literally do. The strategy comes in the sense that this was my strength."

Cross – “How I convinced my Evangelist mom to allow me participate in BBN”

BBNaija finalist, Cross has disclosed how he was able to convince his mother who is an Evangelist to allow him to participate in the Big Brother Naija show.

Cross, the first child of his mother noted that at first, she was against him participating in the show, but he had to break it down bit by bit and convince her.


In a Facebook live interview with PUNCH Online on Wednesday 6th October, he noted that his mom wasn't conversant with basic entertainment trends and he had to make her reason along his path.

"My mum is a pastor – an evangelist – and she wasn't used to these social media stuff and entertainment stuff or even Big Brother.

"So I had to explain to her little by little how it was and she said it was okay.

"Last year, when I almost went in, she knew how sad I was when I didn't go in. So it was a bit easier to convince her, especially because of that." Cross said

How Fancy reportedly called off wedding with Alex Ekubo over threat messages

Reports making the rounds have claimed that Fancy Acholonu called off her relationship with Alex Ekubo after getting threat messages from his secret lover.

CutieJulz who shared the story via IG, wrote;

"So y'all know Alex and fancy dated for sometime before meeting in person. So when Alex finally confirmed their dating etc, this particular lady started sending Fancy messages of how she is involved with Alex bla bla bla.

Sending her threatening messages at time o. Fancy kept asking Alex and he denied all knowledge of it. So after the Oba Obi Cubana thing, Alex somehow somehow got into a mess.


Our source did not say they were knacking. But apparently the mystery girl sent videos of her in Alex's home to Fancy. And called her desperado etc. She even mocked her on top. With Video evidences of this mystery girl in Alex house confirms indeed there is some sort of relationship.

So that was how Fancy blocked Alex everywhere. Phone, social media etc. Cuz to her, the same lady you've denied having anything to do with is sending current videos of she in your house. In the middle of the night.

Oga Alex beg tey, even begged through people he thought Fancy will normally listen to. Fancy stood her grounds and said no.
