College Mentors for Kids

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 11:01 AM PST

College Mentors for Kids is a volunteer-based organization that pairs college students of all years and majors with elementary school students from Title I schools in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Once a week, we engage in both on-campus and virtual activities to promote personal growth for both the college students and children.

Activities are centered around higher education & career development, community service, and culture & diversity. For example, we've done an activity geared towards career development about what it means to be an entrepreneur where children and mentors worked on developing a product they had to "pitch" to other pairs.

Have you had a valuable mentor in your life - maybe a parent, older sibling or other person to guide you? This is your chance to serve as a mentor yourself now!

We are currently looking for a diverse cohort of mentors to begin mentoring this Spring! If you are interested in mentoring, giving back, and changing lives, apply at ter.ps/cmfkspring22 by January 14th. If you have any questions, please contact umdcollegementors@gmail.com.
