Popular comedian, Stanley Chibuna better known as Funnybone has celebrated the veteran movie icon, Genevieve Nnaji on her birthday while accusing her of abandoning him.

Taking to his official Instagram page, the funny man penned an open letter to the Nollywood star who silently clocked a new age yesterday, 3rd May while professing his love for her.

He also reminded her of the dinner she promised him but failed to fulfill it, regardless, he affirmed that he has forgiven her.

Genevieve on her part didn't react to the post and hasn't made any post as regards her birthday.

Popular singer Simi has announced she will release her new album on June 3, 2022.

The mother of one kid married to sensational singer Adekunle Gold disclosed this on her official Instagram page on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, profoundly called by her stage name, Simi, revealed that she had wanted to share the album three years ago. However, a series of unplanned life events hindered her from sharing her honest story via the music compilation.

Simi has now promised her fans that the wait for her fifth studio album titled 'To Be Honest' is almost over. Her fans will eventually get to listen to her life story.

The multi-talented musician had in the past released four studio albums, Ogaju in 2008, Chemistry (a joint album with Falz) in 2016, her 2017 body of work dubbed Simisola, Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1, that premiered in 2019, and one Extended play (EP), Restless II, which debuted in 2020.

Actress Iyabo Ojo has recollected how her senior colleague Bimbo Akintola got her into the movie industry by introducing her to veteran actor Keppy Bassey.

According to the mother-of-two, watching Bimbo Akintola's performance in the movie Out of Bounds motivated her. Iyabo said she reached out to Bimbo who gave her several tips on acting and introduced her to Keppy who helped in getting her first role. She said:

"How did I start out in Nollywood? Okay, when I was done with secondary school I watched this movie called Out of Bounds, I fell in love with Bimbo Akintola's acting. watching her on-screen that day I just said this is it.

So the first thing I had to do was go look for Bimbo Akintola. I found her helpfully by one of my friends and I told her I wanted to actress she was very warm, accomodating and then she taught me a few tricks and told me I had to register with AGN and I had to start going for auditions, I started moving around with her and I was going with her for auditions.

And then she introduced me to uncle Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey and his beautiful wife they were so nice to me and one day he just gave me a note somewhere in Surulere so I took the note and I went there and they said she still have to queue. And I was very excited at least for the first time I was going to have that opportunity to work in front of the camera and that was a big deal for me."

Naomi Judd Reportedly Commits Suicide After Longtime Struggle With Mental Health

Country music icon, Naomi Judd reportedly succumbed to her mental health issues by taking her own life on Saturday April 30.

Judd who died at 76, for a longtime, battled with mental illness.

Naomi's daughters, Ashley Judd and Wynonna Judd, announced their mother's death in an emotional statement on Saturday.

"Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public," the statement read. "We are in unknown territory."

An additional statement from Naomi's husband of 32 years, Larry Strickland, read:

"Naomi Judd's family request privacy during this heartbreaking time. No additional information will be released at this time."

The singer is said to have taken her own life and left her family devastated just a day before she was set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, reports say.

Judd had written extensively about her struggles with depression, and even referenced suicide in an open letter published in People magazine in 2018.

'For everyone mourning the death of someone who committed suicide, an inevitable question arises: Why did this happen? Unfortunately, we don't have very good answers,' she wrote.

'We do know that suicidal behavior accompanies many behavioral brain disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. Suicide is actually one of the leading causes of preventable death among these mental illnesses.'

On Sunday, her daughters broke down in tears during a ceremony to induct their late mother into the Country Music Hall of Fame as part of The Judds – just 24 hours after her passing.

'My mama loved you so much,' Ashley said to the crowd gathered. 'And I'm sorry that she couldn't hang on until today,' she said through tears.

Judd's daughter Wynonna – who performed with her for years in 'The Judds' revealed she had succumbed to the 'disease of mental illness.'

The mother-daughter performers scored 14 No. 1 songs in a career that spanned nearly three decades. After rising to the top of country music, they called it quits in 1991 after doctors diagnosed Naomi with hepatitis.
The Judds' hits included Love Can Build a Bridge in 1990, Mama He's Crazy in 1984, Why Not Me in 1984, Turn It Loose in 1988, Girls Night Out in 1985, Rockin' With the Rhythm of the Rain in 1986 and Grandpa in 1986.

The duo last performed together at the CMT Music Awards of April 11, singing Love Can Build a Bridge. They were accompanied by a gospel choir.

They first got attention singing on Ralph Emery's morning show in early 1980, where the host named them the 'Soap Sisters' because Naomi said she used to make her own soap.

After the success of 'Mama He's Crazy,' they won the Horizon Award at the 1984 CMA Awards. Naomi started her speech by saying, 'Slap the dog and spit in the fire!'

Daughter Ashley Judd is an actress known for her roles in such movies as 'Kiss the Girls,' 'Double Jeopardy' and 'Heat.'

Opening up on the transition, Chidinma Ekile in a chat disclosed that she went on a retreat for 3 months, prayed and fasted on a mountain top to hear from God.

According to her, she took a break from social media and everything, just to be God alone. She said:

"The whole journey wasn't easy, while on the retreat, it was a lot of work, at some point, I was tired and wanted to run away, it was overwhelming…The spiritual exercise made me know it was time because I didn't want to do it without God.

I didn't have a phone with me that period, I will go up to the mountain top praying and in one of those times i got tired and started hearing voices and the one that was clear to me at the time was the one that told me to jump of the cliff in the middle of the night, I moved closer and closer to the cliff, I thought I was going to jump but there was something holding me back….I already stretched out my arms to jump, but I then felt a barricade which naturally wasn't there…these were some of the encounters that made me know it was time."

On why the Kedike crooner didn't immediately delve into secular music after winning the project fame reality show, Chidinma said:

"After the competition, I was still in church but had to do secular music to take care of family and other things and I also wanted to be fully convinced and told by God to move. It is about God and not about me anymore, I now pray about every move, step, I let direct everything."

On her relationship with some of her colleagues, fans in the music industry, Chidinma said:

"When transitioning I wasn't bothered about losing my secular music fans, I didn't care…My conversations with my secular colleagues have changed, some might think I am now no longer approachable….some of them understand and respect the boundaries but do not totally shut you out."

Popular skit maker and comedian, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie better known as Brain Jotter, has surprised his mother with a car.

The popular skit maker took to his official Facebook page to upload a video of the moment he gifted his lovely mother a brand new car.

The mother who couldn't contain her joy shed tears of joy as she repeatedly hugged her son, still finding it hard to believe the car is hers.

Brain jotter took the car to the mum's shop where he surprised her with it. Neighbors came out to congratulate the new car owner and rejoice with her.

Toyin Lawani calls out actress – “This aunty is 46, but claims she’s 36”

Celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani has expressed displeasure over the infamous trend among Nollywood actresses which involves age reduction.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the fashionista demanded to know the rationale behind actresses reducing their age to appear young when in a real sense they aren't.

She went on to state that she knows an actress who is 46, but claims to be 36 and when she asked her the reason for this, she said that's the age the movie industry gave her.

In her words:

"When kids are younger like 13 they want to claim they are 18, when they get older they want to claim younger,
this rubbish is now very rampant,
is it for acceptance or what cause I don't understand, I know one Aunty that is 46 but she is still celebrating 36, I asked her why she said that was the age Nollywood gave her and she accepted it ,
Like seriously y'all also neeed to relax , always quick to call people old and make them feel otherwise,
see it's something graceful to get old ,
nobody will pray not to get old na Abi ,

Popular media personality and BBN star, Uriel Oputa has lamented over recent treatment she received from a man.

Taking to her social media page, she stated that a man who had asked to confirm her nationality had blocked her when he didn't get the answer he had expected.

The man whom she lied to that she wasn't a British citizen had decided to stop replying her messages and even blocked her on Instagram.

Although the reality star later revealed that she truly is a British citizen, adding that she's glad that the man had failed the test.

Omoni has revealed that hard-work pays even without being born with a silver spoon.

Seasoned Nollywood actress cum producer, Omoni Oboli, has assured Nigerian youths and those who look up to her that they can indeed succeed in life if they work towards the goal.

The mother-of-three via her Instagram page revealed that she was able to make it this far and become a well known name in the Nigerian entertainment industry and globally without a sliver spoon.

Her message was in response to someone who told her to stop working hard because she is already popular globally.
Omoni Oboli posted photos of herself and captioned it:

"Someone said I'm already made so why work so hard…I say, I'm working to leave a legacy for my kids and other young people especially of African decent. If a girl like me who wasn't born with a silver spoon can succeed globally, everyone can!  We are not here to look pretty."
