Flooding: Ogun fish farmers lose N500m worth of investment

More than 200 fish farmers at Ikangba/Agoro, Ijebu-Ode in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State lost well over N500m of their investment to a flood disaster that hit their fish pond clusters.

The flooding occurred last week Friday after a heavy downpour washed away the fishes of the farmer, which they estimated to be more than N500 million.

Lazarus Okole, the Chairman of the Ikanga Agoro Fish Farmers Association, disclosed this at a press briefing held on Friday.

Okole said the affected farmers spread across five fish farmers' clusters of Ifeoluwa, Asejere, Progressive, Joye and Kajola.

He explained that though the farmers had in the past experienced mild flooding, the magnitude and impact of the losses suffered could not be compared with that of the latest disaster.

He also said that if the FG and state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, did not come to the rescue of the farmers, many of them might die from the debilitating shock of the huge losses.

Okole said, "We sincerely hereby beg President Muhammadu Buhari and our dear governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to come to our aid. This could be in form of granting us soft loans to cushion the effect of these tragic losses so that our members can have something with which they can start all over again."

Muslim-Muslim ticket: Tinubu submits INEC form snubbing critics

Posted:

Image: Punch

The APC presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, ignored all the criticism from different quarters of the nation by maintaining his decision on former Governor of Borna State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Our source gathered that Tinubu had submitted forms to INEC hours before the commission's deadline, naming Shettima as his running mate.

Recall that Tinubu has come under fire for picking Shettima, a Muslim as his running mate, naming him the 'special one.' The Christian Association of Nigerians, some party members, political stakeholders, and so on have all criticised his decision. The Christian community have accused him of supporting marginalisation and age-long suspicion of an alleged plan to Islamise the country.

Following the outrage that greeted his decision, Tinubu's campaign team and supporters have deployed every means possible to make Nigerians accept Tinubu's choice trying to downplay the whole thing.

However, amid the different voices against Shettima's candidacy, many would have thought Tinubu would change his mind by dropping Shettima as a running mate before the INEC deadline. Still, it was not meant to be, as Tinubu dashed all hopes on Friday by submitting Shettima's name to INEC.

The Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, told Saturday PUNCH that it would have been unwise for his principal to drop Shettima because certain people were uncomfortable with the choice.

"That is not possible. We have seen this move before; all these campaigns to pit us against fellow Nigerians. It happened in 1993 and the result was clear. There was pressure from several quarters for (MKO) Abiola to drop (Babagana) Kingibe because of his Muslim background," Onanuga said.

Onanuga urged Nigerians to focus on competence rather than sentiments.

"What we should be looking at is not religion but competence of the candidate to deliver and take the country to a greater height. They will soon realise that. As I said earlier, there is no likelihood of our presidential candidate dropping Shettima. He has selected him and Shettima will remain. He is a cool candidate. Either of them can be a President," Onanuga insisted.

He further said the party is currently doing all to appease CAN and disgruntled APC members, including a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal. They are all against the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

He said, "I can assure you that Tinubu will appeal to Babachir and others. What we are seeing is natural. This is politics where you may not get all you want. But we know people will soon realise that the choice they have is not really a bad one.

"Don't forget that we are still six months away from the 2023 elections. In politics, even 24 hours is a long time. Anything can happen that can change the course of things. There are moves by the party to appease all of them to rally round the presidential candidate for the election."

Meanwhile, a former Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Taiwo Akerele, supported Tinubu's attitude of snubbing critics of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Akerele said, "When we talk of Muslim-Muslim ticket and Christians are saying the VP choice should be a Christian, I begin to ask, what happens to the majority of 120 million Nigerians that are neither Muslims nor Christians, many who didn't go to church or mosque?

"Between 1999 and 2007, the PDP gave us a Muslim vice presidential candidate from the North. In 2007 to 2011, it was the turn of Jonathan, a Christian. And today we have a vice president, who is a pastor and a professor.

"Christians and Muslim have had their turn. If Tinubu is going to come under pressure to drop Shettima, God forbid, it should not be the turn of Christians or Muslims, it is the turn of pagans."

According to Akerele, Nigerians should focus on the ailing economy, rising inflation, unemployment and insecurity when choosing a leader and not on religious inclination.

Similarly, the Director-General of Asiwaju Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organisation, Adebayo Shittu, also confirmed that Tinubu has plans to meet religious bodies and other stakeholders.

He said, "I can assure you that we will do the needful. We know what to do. Is the ultimate aim not for close ranks and work towards winning the presidential election? We will do it.

"Let me also point out that it is not all Christians, even among the clergy, that are aggrieved with our decision. We should not generalise. But we know many of the disgruntled party members are supporters and loyalists of the vice president (Yemi Osinbajo). That is why we said the APC is a party of 'free joiners' and 'free leavers.' Anybody can leave and come in anytime."

Osun Election: Soldiers apprehend NURTW boss, others

On Friday, a group of soldiers arrested the Osun State chapter's National Union of Road Transport Workers' chieftain, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as 'Asiri Eniba.'

The soldiers reportedly arrested him and some other people at his Ojurin, Osogbo motor park office.

The development was said to have thrown the Old Garage Area where the park is located into panic, as many drivers and passengers waiting to board to different destinations fled the scene.

The state leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party recently said it had written several petitions to security agents, accusing the NURTW boss of masterminding attacks on its members.

He was said to be arrested in his office by soldiers who came in two vehicles. They arrested him and some other people too.

An eyewitness said, "We can't say where he was taken to now, but he was arrested this afternoon in his office in Ojurin, Osogbo."

Later information revealed that Oyewale and about 15 others were arrested by soldiers and handed over to the Osun Police Command Headquarters in Osogbo.

When contacted to know if Oyewale and others were in the custody of the police, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, in charge of the Osun election, Johnson Kokumo, who confirmed that some people were arrested, simply said, "some arrests have been made. Whether by soldiers or NSCDC, I don't know. I don't know who they are. Let's do our due diligence before asking who they are."

July 31 is now the new deadline for INEC's CVR

Posted:

Image: ACI Africa

The new deadline for the INEC's Continuous Voter Registration exercise is July 31, 2022.

In a press release signed by Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, on Friday, the Commission gave the new date.

According to the statement, the extension was due to  "the judgement delivered by the Federal High Court on Wednesday 13th July 2022 that dismissed the suit filed by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) which is seeking an extension of the exercise beyond 30th June 2022", which affirmed that "INEC is at liberty to appoint a date of its choice to suspend the CVR, provided it is not later than 90 days before the date fixed for the General Election as provided in Sec. 9(6) of the Electoral Act 2022."

The Commission explained that it complied with an interim court injunction pending the determination of the substantive suit and continued the CVR beyond its initial deadline of June 30.

It said it had, therefore, extended the deadline for a period of 15 days.

Following the Federal High Court judgement, which, according to INEC, had removed all legal encumbrances, the Commission decided that it was extending the deadline of the voter registration exercise by another two weeks until Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The statement partly read, "In compliance with the interim injunction of the Court pending the determination of the substantive suit, and in order to enable more Nigerians to register, the Commission continued with the CVR beyond 30th June 2022. For this reason, the CVR has already been extended beyond 30th June 2022 for a period of 15 days. With the judgement of the Federal High Court, all legal encumbrances have now been removed.

"Accordingly, the Commission has taken the following decisions: 1. The CVR is hereby extended for another two weeks until Sunday 31st July 2022, thereby bringing the total duration of the extension to 31 days (1st – 31st July 2022).

"2. The exercise has also been extended to eight hours daily from 9.00am – 5.00pm instead of the current duration of six hours (9.00am – 3.00pm) daily.

"3. The exercise is also extended to include weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) as against only weekdays. We appreciate that the timeframe may be tight for many prospective registrants, but there is a lot that the Commission is required to do under the electoral legal framework in relation to voter registration and compilation of the register that will require time to accomplish."

INEC pleaded for understanding, stating that it had several activities to carry out in preparation for the 2023 general election, hence the "tight timeframe."

The statement added, "For instance, the Commission is required to: 1. Clean-up of the register to remove multiple registrants using the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS); 2. Consolidate the national register of voters (existing voters and new registrants) and display same on Polling Unit basis for each of the 8,809 Registration Areas (Wards) across the 774 Local Government Areas nationwide for public scrutiny. This lasts for a period of one week. On the basis of a new projection of 95 million voters, on the basis of 10 voters per page, the Commission has to print 9,500,000 pages for the display; 3. Print millions of Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) for all fresh registrants and applicants for transfer and replacement of lost or damaged PVCs; 4. Ensure that there is ample time for voters to collect their PVCs ahead of the 2023 General Election; 5. Print the final register of voters in triplicate for the 2023 General Election involving a projected 28,500,000 pages for accreditation and display at 176,846 polling units for national elections (Presidential and National Assembly) on 25th February 2023 and State elections (Governorship and State Assembly) on 11th March 2023; and 6. Make copies of the updated national register of voters available to political parties not later than 30 days to the date fixed for the General Election."

The statement added that the CVR exercise would continue after the 2023 general election.

"We appeal for the patience and understanding of all Nigerians as we conclude the exercise, which will resume after the 2023 General Election. We observed that following the continuation of the exercise beyond 30th June 2022, many of the registration centres recorded low turnout of prospective registrants.

"With this two-week extension, we appeal to eligible citizens not to wait until the last few days before they inundate the centres again to register.

"We appreciate the interest of Nigerians to register and participate in the electoral process and once again reiterate our commitment to credible and transparent elections. This can only be achieved with the support and cooperation of all Nigerians," it stated.

Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin has appealed to Osun electorates to reject any inducement by politicians in the election coming up today, Saturday.

While speaking to reporters on Friday in Osogbo, the president of Women Arise asked electorates to vote for parties and candidates with a clear agenda for the development of the state.

"As we all look forward to the election, we cannot but alert Nigerians of the fact that the act of voter inducement and vote buying is gaining ground in our elections.

"We are therefore,  using this medium, to urge voters in Osun to reject any form of inducement by politicians.

"They should rather engage the governorship candidates based on issues that they care about and only vote for parties and candidates who have a clear agenda for the development of the  state," she said.

She then praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election.

"Kudos must be given to INEC in its commitment toward ensuring that tomorrow's election is conducted in a manner that is free, fair and credible.

"The deployment of personnel and sensitive electoral materials so far is assuring of the commission's readiness to deliver on time.

"So far, we are impressed by the conduct of security agencies who are involved in the ongoing Osun election processes, and we do sincerely hope that they will improve on their professionalism and uncompromising stand throughout the election.

"Security agents are expected to support the effort of INEC, civil society and other stakeholders in preventing violence and other electoral offences, including voters inducement.

"We do hope that this election will stand as another true test for us as Nigerians, as we prepare toward the crucial 2023 general elections in the country," she said.

For the first time in his 12 years as president, Muhammadu Buhari is talking tough. On Thursday, he was speaking in Jaji, Kaduna State, and said the last 12 years have been "very challenging" for the country, considering the different security threats that have been confronting it.

He then solemnly promised that his regime would increase support for the military to "wipe out terrorists off the face of the earth" and bring peace to the country.

According to a statement by Buhari's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, he said at the graduation of 247 students from the Senior Course 44 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

The statement was titled, 'President Buhari lauds combat readiness, operational capability of Nigerian military, pledges more support in fight against insurgency.'

It quoted the president as appraising the ongoing collaboration of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger Republic, Benin Republic, and Chad in a multinational operation to combat the Boko Haram insurgency in the Lake Chad region.

Buhari said, "This occasion provides me another opportunity to briefly reflect on the state of the Nigerian nation, particularly regarding national security.

"The last 12 years have been very challenging for our nation, considering the different security threats that have besieged the country.

"Our government is poised to promote national security and development, as well as to remain committed to promoting a vision of a secure, safe, just, peaceful, prosperous and strong Nigeria."

To the graduating students, the president said, "It will be part of your duty to confront these terrorists and insurgents and wipe them off the face of the earth and bring peace to our countries."

The president applauded the Nigerian Armed Forces, who, he noted, are "working tirelessly to enhance their combat effectiveness, operational capability, and training necessary to eliminate the threats, in synergy with other institutions and nations."

According to Air Vice-Marshall, Olurotimi Tuwase, the Commandant of the College, in his welcome address explained that 111 Army officers, 69 naval officers, 42 air force officers, 10 students from paramilitary organizations and Ministries, Department and Agencies, as well as 15 international students completed the 48 weeks intensive training, leading to the award of Pass Staff Course.

He added that the international students on the Senior Course 44 were from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, and Zambia.

The Commandant appreciated the president for his unwavering support to the College and explained further that their students have been well trained and ably equipped to combat almost all challenges in their careers.

Therefore, Buhari presented PSC certificates and awards to select graduates and the best graduating students.

Kuje Prison Break Update: Statistics of escapees

Posted:

Image: Channels TV

After the deadly attack on the custody facility in Kuje, the Nigerian Correctional Service has recaptured 421 fleeing inmates, with 454 still at large. This is based on the House of Representatives Committee on Correctional Service report.

The committee has therefore summoned the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and the Comptroller-General of the NCoS, Haliru Nababa. The duo is to appear before the House of Representatives over the recent attack on the facility by terrorists.

In addition, the committee also called the Commander of the Nigerian Army Platoon on duty on the night of the attack to appear before it.

This was disclosed by Edwin Anayo, the Chairman of the committee on Correctional Service, at an oversight visit to the facility on Thursday. He said the lawmakers met 115 inmates.

"If you subtract it, it will give about 879 that escaped that night," he noted.

The inmates, including 69 suspected Boko Haram members, had escaped Kuje Medium Custodial Centre on Tuesday last week after members of the Islamic for West Africa Province attacked the facility.

Anayo lamented that 12 other Custodial Centres within the nation had been attacked and expressed his worry about the Kuje jailbreak.

Anayo said, "We are summoning the CG and the minister in charge of this agency to come to the National Assembly and explain to the whole world and Nigerians what is going on.

"We are not comfortable with the incidences of jailbreaks in recent times. There have been about 10 to 12 attacks on custodial centres. Nigerians are not comfortable.

"In Abuja, nobody walks freely now because of this incident. We have to interact and know the problem and how we can solve them.

"We have to know your challenges and how to tackle them. The committee is eager to know what transpired here. The reaction of the security agencies.

"After inviting the CG with his team and the minister, we will also invite the leader of the Army team on that day.

"We are summoning the CG with his team, and the minister with his team to know more about what transpired on that fateful day that the incident happened."

ASUU Strike: Lecturers furious over FG, Ngige's comments

Posted:

Image: Channels TV

The ASUU strike might not end anytime soon as comments from FG and Dr. Ngige did not go down well with the union.

Speaking to our source, PUNCH, members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities accused the FG of "sabotaging efforts to ensure standard education for Nigerian youths."

The lecturers are furious over the recent statement of Mr. President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.

Recall, Buhari issued a statement last week through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, saying, "truly, enough is enough for keeping students at home."

Moreover, while speaking on Wednesday, Dr. Ngige accused the President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, of misinformation. He said there was never a time the FG and ASUU drew up a Collective Bargaining Agreement that required the President's signature.

During Sunrise Daily on Channels TV, Osodeke castigated Ngige for his "insulting" comments.

"What the Minister of Labour has done is a complete insult to the character of people like Professor Nimi Briggs, Senator Chris Adighije, Professor Olu Obafemi," Osodeke.

"The minister instead of looking for how to resolve the problem is busy abusing his colleagues, abusing even the Minister of Education," he said.

Osodoke went further to hold Ngige responsible for misinforming Nigerians.

"It is so sad that we have gotten to a stage where our children are lamenting at home and the Minister of Labour is busy churning out fake information and misinforming the public, trying to undermine the integrity of ASUU," the professor added.

The President of ASUU also took to time to react to Buhari's comment, and he said, "I do not understand why Mr. President said that 'enough is enough' when we are not the one delaying the students at home.

"The Federal Government had sent its team to negotiate with us, and we have finished. Instead of coming back to us to tell us the outcome of the meeting, we are hearing this.

"If you set up a committee to negotiate on your behalf, and the committee has finished and they have brought the information to you to sign and then you said enough is enough, what does this mean?" he asked.

The negotiation committee was inaugurated by the FG on June 7 to renegotiate the 2009 Agreement with ASUU and submit its report to the Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, within three months. The committee was led by Prof. Nimi Briggs and was expected to review the draft proposed FGN/ASUU Agreement. They were to liaise and consult with relevant stakeholders and finalize the FG's position.

Apart from those, the committee also are to renegotiate in realistic and workable terms the 2009 Agreements with other University-Based Unions and carry out some other negotiations, and they have three months to submit their report at the end.

The committee is chaired by Brigs, Pro-Chancellor, Alex Ekweme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi.

Other members are Pro-Chancellor, Federal University, Wukari, and Arc. Lawrence Patrick Ngbale, who represents North East; Pro-Chancellor, Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Prof. Funmi Togunu-Bickersteth, representing South West and Pro-Chancellor, Federal University, Lokoja, Senator Chris Adighije, representing South East.

Also on the team are Pro-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Olu Obafemi from North-Central; Pro-Chancellor, Kano State University of Science & Technology, and Prof. Zubairu Iliyasu, representing North West; and Pro-Chancellor, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Mathew Seiyefa from South-South.

Image: Channels TV

It's just 48 hours to the Osun governorship election; the first party casualty has been registered, and the Peoples Redemption Party dropped out of the race.

According to the National Executive Committee of the party, their decision to throw in the towel resulted from the lack of political activities from the party's flagbearer, Ayowole Adedeji.

According to the party, the party's flagbearer has been staying abroad since he became the governorship candidate. He only returned to Nigeria just two weeks to the election.

On Thursday, Babatunde Alli, the National Secretary of the party, told the press that the party had put a committee together to probe Mr. Ayowole Adedeji for the act and to question him for soliciting campaign funds yet not holding any.

Alli's statement goes thus:
The National Executive Committee of our great party, the PRP, has noted with great concern and disappointment the negative effects of obvious inactivity of the Governorship Candidate of the party in Osun State, MR. AFCON 2022: Super Falcons Dominated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 0-1

It was a well-deserved victory for Nigeria today Thursday as the Super Falcons edged out the Indomitable Lionesses by a lone goal. With that victory, the Super Falcons have now progressed to the semi-finals and qualified for the World Cup next year to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The Falcons will not play Morocco, the host country, in the semi-final showdown.

Rasheedat Ajibade was on target for Nigeria and handed the Falcons the winner with her second-half header. It was a tough match at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca under the watchful eyes of former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon striker and multiple African Footballer of the year winner Sam Eto.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon came into the game with high hopes coming off the group stage unbeaten, but they performed woefully against the Nigerian ladies. The nine-time champion dominated the ball possession and made the Lionesses chase the game from the beginning to the end.

The match continued with Nigeria having the lion's share of the ball possession and yet could not convert any. Cameroon played their trademark aggressive pattern and conceded many infringements, which the Nigerian ladies, the likes of Ashleigh Plumptre, Onumonu, and Ajibade, could not convert to goals.

Image: Twitter

At the end of the first 45 minutes, the match ended goaless, but the Nigerian women looked good enough to get things started when the game resumed owing to the ball possession and goal on target. When the game resumed, it took the Falcons 8 minutes before they scored what would become the only and, at the same time, winning goal.

The goal came at the 53rd minute when Okobi beat Johnson and Claudine Meffometou, who set up Gotham FC's Onumonu, who wasted no time before sending a beautiful cross to the Atletico Madrid forward Ajibade Rasheedat to head the ball past Cameroonian Goalies, Ange Bawou.

The goal from Rasheedat gave the Cameroonian side a wake-up call that made them attack the Falcons more aggressively. However, the attacks amounted to nothing thanks to the Super Falcons backline.

The scoreboard remained the same till 90 minutes, propelling the Super Falcons of Nigeria into the last four. With the win against Cameroon, Nigeria now has 14 wins in the last 15 previous outings against Cameroon.

Though the Indomitable Lionesses did not qualify for the World Cup, they remain in contention, meaning they have to qualify through inter-confederation play-offs.

Following the recent comment by President Muhammadu Buhari on the ASUU strike, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is taking a covert step to intervene in the crisis.

According to a news report, Bola Tinubu has met with the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) leadership and vowed to intervene in the ongoing ASUU strike. The meeting with the NANS leadership took place on Thursday in Osogbo, Osun State, and the present was Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.

Segun Dada, an APC member, posted a video on Twitter revealing the plans of Tinubu to use unorthodox means to intervene in the strike action by the university lecturers. He added that his move on the ASUU strike follows the recent comment by Mr. President.

"We were trying to find—even if it is back door, a way of reaching them. I am assuring you, we are not going to use back door because our leader too— Buhari has shown his lamentation in the last 48hours and as a result of that, he has left the door open for our intervention," Bola Tinubu said.

Funke Akindele explains why she accepted PDP’s Dep. Gov. candidacy

Posted:

Image: PM News

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has explained why she accepted to be Lagos PDP deputy governorship candidate for the 2023 election.

Recall Dr. Olajide Adediran, the PDP's governorship candidate, explained earlier why he chose Funke Akindele, as reported yesterday.

According to Funke, in a trending video, when Adediran, the APC guber flagbearer, asked her to be his running, she accepted because she saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the welfare of the people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.

"My decision is not only to accept this huge responsibility, but also to work tirelessly and complement Jandor's burning desire to see our dear state of Lagos live up to its full potential with the people as immediate and direct beneficiaries.

"Over the years, a lot of young people have been ignored, victimised, maimed for daring to have a dream, so I used this opportunity to call out all well-meaning residents of Lagos, especially the youths.

"It is indeed time to use our numerical strength to our full advantage, it is time to take our rightful place in matters that concern our lives and our future, it is time to rally around and support our own," she said.

Akindele said she is clearly aware of the toll the call to political duty would have on her vibrant career, which she said would be put on hold; she said it is a personal sacrifice to her.

"My resolve is that no sacrifice is too much for the actualisation of the urgent mission to rescue our people and our dear state. I thank the PDP for considering me worth of such a great call to serve our people, it is a call I take with reverence and utmost sense of responsibility.

"Indeed we can achieve a Lagos that works for all as opposed to a privileged hand-picked few, so let us do it, given your mandate to ensure that the people's governor Adediran is voted," she added.

Akindele said that she would leverage her over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry and her God-given grace to achieve extraordinary success. She added that she, in the past, had had the privilege of access to work and engaged with people from all walks and strata of life.

"Within this period, I have watched with great concern, the plight of the less fortunate, especially in the youth category, this drifted me towards my less popular but equally strong passion which is to help, assist, contribute to the growth of youths, women and children.

"I was raised by a strict teacher father who retired as a school principal and a caring mother who is a medical doctor to be hardworking and add value to life, therefore dignity of labour and passion for the needy became second nature to me and resulted in the birth of Jenifer foundation. With this I have been able to reach out and help the youths by providing job opportunities and welfare to those in need," she said.
