Pastor E.A. Adeboye warns people not to blaspheme Jesus

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has issued warnings to individuals to stop blaspheming Jesus. According to him, those that blaspheme Jesus will taste the wrath of God.

While reacting to recent attacks and killings targeting churches and worshippers, Pastor Adeboye spoke to the RCCG members on Friday/early Saturday during the July edition of the Holy Ghost Service.

Last month, news has it that no fewer than 40 Catholics were shot dead by unknown gunmen at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

Another attack that happened two weeks after the Owo attack where bandits attacked and killed three persons during separate attacks on the Baptist Church and the St. Moses Catholic Church, both in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Pastor Adeboye also responded to a comment made by controversial On-Air personality, Daddy Freeze. Daddy Freeze alleged that some women turned to Ogun (god of thunder) to rain curses on the terrorists who massacred worshippers in Owo because "Bro J" (a nickname for Jesus) didn't answer them.

Freeze wrote last month:
When dem call bros J and he nor answer dem nko? We abandoned African paganism to adopt European pagan ideologies. Until we start telling ourselves the truth and take our security issues more seriously this won't end. Christ's message is love and that's the first thing so glaringly missing in Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye reacted thus:
I understand that one funny fellow said that some people were calling on Ogun because Jesus didn't answer them.

Well, the one who said that there's a Yoruba proverb, it said, the mouth that the snail uses to blasphemy God, that mouth would kiss the ground. From now on, anybody who dares blaspheme Jesus Christ, they will taste the fire of the Almighty God.

He added that safety belongs to the Lord and that nobody dies until their time comes.
I don't want to say much, because I know whatever I say, some people may want to twist it. But I've searched the Bible from cover to cover and there is nowhere in the Bible where God said a child of God cannot defend himself.

If you find the place, let me know. He said, if they slap you on the right cheek, turn the left. If they now slap the left, what did he say? When God is silent, do you know the meaning of that, it simply means, over to you.

Every enemy of the church, as long as my Father is still on the throne, as long as Jesus lives, as long as His name is the consuming fire, if they don't repent, the fire of God will consume them. I'm not talking to everybody o, I'm only talking to my children.

Tinubu Denies Meeting Wike in France

Contrary to claims that Wike meets with Tinubu in France, the APC presidential flag bearer has denied the claim. Tinubu disclaimed the reports of ever meeting with the opposition Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike.

This recent development was against what the chieftain of the party in Lagos, Joe Igbokwe once said about the meeting of the duo.

Tinubu had recently flown to France in what his handlers said was a continuation of high-level engagements with stakeholders.

On Friday night, the media office of the APC flag bearer released a statement signed by Tunde Rahman that said the meeting between Tinubu and Wike never happened.

He said that the meeting between Tinubu and Governor Wike in France was fake news.

Excerpts of the statement go thus:

We have seen a viral social media post made by one of the chieftains of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State and media reports emanating from same about a supposed meeting in France between APC Presidential Standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

It has become imperative to set the record straight. Although Asiwaju Tinubu is presently in France, he didn't have any meeting with Governor Wike whether in that country or anywhere whatsoever.

This, however, does not detract from the fact that the APC presidential candidate holds Governor Wike in high esteem.

And given the national and across-party lines appeal of Asiwaju Tinubu's candidature, he will not hesitate to meet any important national leader when desirable.

As made public earlier, Asiwaju Tinubu is in France for some important engagements. He will return to the country shortly.

We would like, once again, to advise journalists to always cross-check their information with appropriate officers before rushing to press to avoid unintended errors.
