Global demand for copper has climbed dramatically in recent years, a trend that is likely to continue. In Peru, many of the dynamics driving the country's current political crisis are also contributing to numerous social conflicts around copper mining. Understanding and navigating these related challenges is necessary to achieve a more just and low-carbon world.
