October 2, 2023 Today on New Security Beat Africa's First Climate Summit: From Victim to Leader? By Eleanor Greenbaum The UN Environment Programme has described Africa as the most vulnerable region in the world to climate change. However, the inaugural Africa Climate Summit sought to highlight how the continent is also well-positioned to lead in the global fight against climate change. The summit's call for comprehensive financing will likely shape global debates on the climate crisis at COP28.
