November 27, 2024 Today on New Security Beat DOT-MOM | World AIDS Day: Center Women and Girls to Eradicate AIDS By Deekshita Ramanarayanan Over the last four decades, contracting HIV has been transformed from a fatal diagnosis to a manageable chronic illness. However, much work still is needed to meet global targets of preventing new cases of HIV and reducing AIDS-related deaths. 2024's World AIDS Day calls on global actors to address inequalities that hold back progress towards ending AIDS – including gender inequality.
