See Man Who Escaped With Arrow In His Back After Attack By Fulani Herdsmen (Viewer Discretion Advised)

See Man Who Escaped With Arrow In His Back After Attack By Fulani Herdsmen (Viewer Discretion Advised)

There was a report of another Fulani herdsmen attack on some farmers at Nyiwa Village in Mambilla on Thursday, 1st March 2018 sparked off a spiral of herdsmen-farmers clashes across some villages in western Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna LGA, Taraba State of Nigeria.

The reports has it that, the initial attack at Nyiwa village which happened on 1/3/2018, started after the Fulani militia shot dead two Mambilla men in their farmland at Nyiwa community.

The report further disclosed that the Fulani herders had destroyed the fence around the farm the previous day which the farmers quickly and peacefully repaired. The Fulani allegedly destroyed the fence for a second time within a space of about 24 hours. When the farmers returned to the farm and were about to re-erect the fence, the Fulani gunmen, allegedly led by the said Maigari Gagarau and brother opened fire on them from a nearby bush in which they had laid in ambush, killing two farmers instantly.

The head of one of their victims was further macheted to pieces by Maigari's team. They subsequently shot dead two other Mambilla men. As the alarm of this gruesome killings went round the village, residents scampered about in panic, some rushing to attempt to rescue those trapped by the attack. These people, however, similarly came under the same gunfire.
The villagers inevitably clashed with these armed herdsmen in the farm resulting in further casualties.

According to online reports, these Nyiwa killings sparked off a wave of fighting between herdsmen and farmers in the area. Nevertheless, the Nyiwa attack by the herdsmen turned out to be the head of a series of coordinated attacks organized and executed by the Fulani leaders, which quickly spread to other villages such as Yerimaru, Kasalasa, Ngesoo, Yelwa and the Mambilla Escarpment Road.

Reports of Fulani mercenaries arriving Maisamari, Nguroje and Gembu on Saturday, 3 March 2018 were rife by evening of that day. Some of these were allegedly lodged at the residences of certain Miyetti Allah leaders, Ardo Juli and Ardo Ali in Nguroje, according to the Sardauna stakeholders forum.

The Fulani mercenaries alongside their local militia began action around Yelwa with the slaughter of a Mambilla woman from Takam Village, east of Maisamari on Saturday, 3 March 2018. She was daughter-in-law to a certain Late Nasamu of Takam. The woman was returning from market when the Fulani mercenaries caught up with her and slaughtered her like a ram. Local residents pursued and neutralized 4 of her killers, while others escaped.

The following day, Sunday, 4 March 2018, an group of heavily-armed Fulani mercenaries left Maisamari and entered Yelwa in a convoy akin to regular army deployments. These heavily-armed mercenaries selected Mambilla houses in Yelwa shooting men, women and children and burning down the houses.

All non-Fulani people in Yelwa, particularly, the Mambilla and Kaka, were invariably affected. Several girls have been reported missing, having been abducted by these ruthless invaders.

"Overstay Is Killing Us": Soldier Deployed To Borno For 2 Years Now Cries Out

"Overstay Is Killing Us": Soldier Deployed To Borno For 2 Years  Cries Out

A gallant Nigerian soldier deployed to the northeast region for two years - has urged the army authorities to consider a rotational deployment of soldiers to the North  East due to increasing rate of deaths of troops.

The officer added that overstay of gallant soldiers in the region - makes their morale weak in the battlefield.

The soldier suggested to the army authorities to give their deployment to the northeast a duration so that fresh hands can come in and fight against the insurgents.
This plea was shared online by the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria, Kaduna state.

See full story below:

Morning admin, with heavy heart and grieve in my heart I am writing to you for assistance. I am in north east ( Borno State). This is my two years in this operation and what I experience on first of march this year since my two years in this operation I have never seen it.

For I know in war front care is prerequisite but this one that happened make me thinking because I realize the cause of the rampart death is overstay of soldiers in north east.

This is what I observed in the front line, It makes the morale of troops weak in the battle field, the strength to fight terrorist is lost and the hope is gone. For I am saying this due to my experience, for I can remembered when we first come the moral of troops was so strong that we do pushed this people without fear or thinking behind but as time goes on that's how tidiness started,

No morale, men become weak and that's the beginning of our problem in the battlefield.

Please my short plead is that let Nigerian Army make this operation just like other operation where soldiers are been rotated, at least let there be a rotation even if it take one three times to come.

I wish this my cry go far to reach the right destination. Please let the operation have duration please overstay is killing us. Thanks admin for your effort towards my cry!!

PDP Celebrates Olusegun Obasanjo On His 81st Birthday Today

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sent congratulatory message to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the occasion of his 81st birthday as he celebrates today.

The only virant opposition party in a statement released on Sunday described Obasanjo as an outstanding nationalist; a courageous and dedicated leader, who has made immeasurable, sacrifices towards the development, stability and growth of the nation.

The former president will clock 81 on Monday, March 5. The party in the statement which was signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it remains proud of Obasanjo.

Obasanjo according to the PDP has excelled as an international figure and made outstanding contributions toward global peace and development, particularly, in the African sub-region.

"Indeed, the PDP intensely celebrates former President Obasanjo who stands tall as one of the best performed Nigerian Presidents chiefly because his administration founded and anchored its policies and programmes on PDP's people-based manifesto and ideology," the statement read in part.

The PDP also commends Obasanjo for his continued engagement on national issues, particularly his disposition against poor governance, corruption, and bloodletting. The party also claimed that it is more than prepared to salvage Nigeria in the task of returning back to governance come 2019.
