This week, an overview of the history of Nintendo and their ambivalent relationship with the "gamer" demographic. Here's the intro:
In terms of cultural impact, Nintendo is the Walt Disney of video games. Their characters have grown into cultural icons, and they constantly try to reinvent themselves to reach wider and wider audiences. This wasn't always the case... 
This roll is the story of how Nintendo went from making games for boys to making games for everyone, and how that early legacy has been a double-edged sword that has both helped and hurt them over the years.
