Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has officially reacted to the invitation extended to him by the Police over alleged conspiracy, criminal and inciting publication.In our earlier report, we published the story of the invitation of FFK by the Police, via a letter dated August 20, 2018, which asked the former minister to appear before CP Habu A. Sani, through the Superintendent of Police Usman Garba on August 28, 2018 over 'conspiracy, criminal defamation, inciting publication, injurious falsehood and conduct likely to cause breach of peace'.Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, in responding to the invitation, through his lawyers, Kayode Ajulo & Co. Castle of Law, requested for a rescheduling of the appointment due to the short notice.The former minister also demanded "essential particulars of the purpose of the visit" pointing out that the letter appeared "in a vague and ambiguous form".READ ALSO: Femi Fani-Kayode Under Police Radar As IGP Invites Him For Questioning His Lawyer's letter read in part, "Your office for reasons best known to them, did not mention the name (s) and person (s) complaining against our client and on what particular subject matter his presence is required. "Therefore, in view of the short notice apparent in your letter under reference, our Client is constrained to politely request for a rescheduling of the interview date and also that he be furnished with essential particulars of the purpose of his visit to your office so as to adequately prepare for the said 'interview'. "Our client shall in the circumstance be requesting that the appointment be rescheduled to either the 4th or 5th day of September 2018, subject to the convenience of your office and officers. "This request is necessitated by the fact that our client already has earlier scheduled programmes that borders on some urgent and crucial matters already lined up for this week including the on-going Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference, which Conference our client is participating and hosting a number of delegates. Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State, has released an announcement over a new venue secured for his formal presidential declaration, after he was denied the use of the Eagle Square in Abuja.Mr. Binta Sipikin, Senator Kwankwaso's spokesperson, has confirmed that the ceremony will now hold at Chida Hotel in Utako, Abuja.According to a statement released by Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation, made available to the DAILY POST, it expressed disappointment that Federal Capital Territory Administration(FCTA) suddenly turned down the request earlier approved "for some flimsy reasons" "In a letter dated August 27th, 2018 and signed by Usman Mukhtar Raji for the Facility Manager and received on August 28th, 2018 barely 24 hours to the scheduled declaration, the Abuja International Conference and Eagle Square, managed by the Integrated Facility Management Services Ltd has reversed itself in respect of approval granted the organizers of the declaration of Senator Kwankwaso. "We at the Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation sees the development as a handiwork of the government in power who will not see anything good in growing our fledgling democracy as no level playing field has been created to allow for viable opposition in the country. The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2019 presidential election, has stated that there will be no automatic ticket for President Muhammadu Buhari and other presidential aspirants in the party.Mr. Yekini Nabena, the party's National Publicity Secretary, disclosed that there will be no automatic ticket for Buhari because other aspirants will also be given the opportunity to prove their worth at the primaries.While speaking with the Daily Independent, the National Publicity Secretary said;"There is going to be primaries. Other aspirants will also be given a chance to test their popularity."So, it is not as if there is an automatic ticket that has been given to President Muhammadu Buhari". Mr Nabena while speaking further on other aspirants who have indicated interest to contest for the presidency other than Buhari, said; "Though one or two that have shown interest, the actual number will be known when the forms go out on sale. According to a report by the SaharaReporters, Theo Ukpaa a staff of Linda Ikeji has been accused of rape days after his wedding by Emilia Samuel when she was just 16 years old.Read full story below as published by the SaharaReporters:Theo Ukpaa, a staff member of Linda Ikeji, has been accused by Emilia Samuel of raping her when she was just 16 years old.Emilia, who is now married with two children, made this revelation in an Instagram post over the weekend, where she claimed that Theo deflowered and raped her multiple times despite her pleas that he should stop.She revealed that her path and Theo's crossed when she made it to the top three of a spice girl competition organised by entertainment channel, Soundcity. The prize for a place among the top three was that Emilia was required to visit the office of the channel twice a week for catwalk training.In the tell-all tale, Emilia said Theo was her trainer and during the course of the training he "kept making passes at me but I told him I was not interested. All I wanted was to work on being a model". The post read: "It was on the third training. He said they were making use of the studio we normally use, so we are to use another. There were people working there, so there was nothing to be worried about. We went to the new studio and started the same routine. Then he came and [grabbed] me. I told him to stop, [I'm] not like that. Next thing I knew, he had thrown me to the floor and overpowered me. All I could remember was the pain and the blood; it was everywhere. I kept shouting and shouting and screaming, but no one came. It was years later I realised that the door was soundproof cos is a studio. I never knew till I started working as a presenter. I was just 16 and naive; never had any exposure. That Spice Girl [competition] was the first time I was allowed out of the house. I did not even have a phone by then. All messages and calls were through my mum phone. "He then came and was begging that he thought I was like other girls when I told him I was 16; that he thought it was just modelling age and [that] he [couldn't] believe there could be a virgin anymore. I caught a cold that day and fell sick. He kept turning me around and was cleaning the blood but I was more like a dead body. [I] did not care anymore what he was doing. He got me dressed and held me at my back, leading the way out and making sure no one spoke to me. He put me in a bus home and when I got home, he had already called my mum that they got a job in the UK for me and I would be leaving for the shoot soon. He [said he would] like to speak to me as soon as I came in and he told me through the phone that I should not tell anyone what happened; that if I do, my mum would stop me from modelling and I will never get the chance of modelling ever again."
According to her, Theo even promised her marriage. She continued: "I was too broken to make any statement. All I could say was bye and went into my room and that was the end of me going for the training. But he kept calling my mum that there were jobs for me which she thought I went to, but never knew I used those times to go sort for ushering jobs, which I got I was able to get a phone from. Then one day, I got a call from him. I was so scared, but he begged me, [saying] he was sorry and wanted to see me face to face to apologise. I agreed to meet with him in an open place, but then again I didn't know anywhere. I was 17 then. We agreed to meet at Ikeja cos I had a casting there. Him knowing I was still naive told me of an eatery which I never knew was closed. I got there after my casting and discovered the Mr Biggs was closed. Turning to leave I saw him at my back. He said so I just wanted to leave like that, that he also did not know the restaurant is closed. "[He said we should] go to another down the road. Either I was just as a fool then or I was still very naive at 17 or I just don't know. I followed him into his car still believing we were heading to a restaurant to talk things over but no. Theo managed to fool me into his house, pushed me in as soon as I entered and raped me once more, then started crying and begging [that] it was a mistake that he can't get enough of me. He gave me an infection from day one and kept adding to it and I never knew I was suffering from STD. There was no one close enough to tell me that and he was too wicked to even treat me. He just left me like that with it till many years later before I found out and got myself treated. Thank it did not damage my womb, neither did I get pregnant, cos I did not even know anything about getting pregnant. I was too naive and stupid. He said he wanted a relationship and that I am God-sent to him. He kept bugging my phone with calls and messages until the day I fell and did a job for him because I knew the lady he wanted me to work for and he also sent me the number of the girl who I was to work with – Sisi Oge in Ijebu Ode. "I really thought he had changed like he claimed all went well. I and Breda were sharing the same room. Then the camera men had theirs, he had his own. The popular TV presenter of Soundcity was there so I felt at home till the night before the day we were to leave. Theo came to our door and was calling my name. I refused going as my mind starting recalling that he might want to do the same. It was 2am. Brenda saw how scared I was and asked me what the issue was. I told her I am scared of him, that he might hurt me. She was quick to understand so she said don't worry he won't harm you when I am here. He kept calling out my name then started banging the door. Next thing, he broke down the door and came to the bed where I and Brenda was, and dragged me out to his room. He locked the door beat me up then raped me, all the while saying no one can do anything; that he is their boss and he is paying them, and that no one can ever have me in this world till he is done with me. To cut the story short, we got back to Lagos and he started blackmailing me that he had my nudes and that he will publish it. They were actually bikini pictures I took, which then I felt were not decent coming from the home I come from, but cos he showed me [photographs of others like me who he said I had to copy] if I was to make it in the modelling industry, I went ahead and took those bikini pictures, seeing all as training I am suppose to do if I am to be a model. He said if I don't keep seeing him, he will make them public and that was how I continued to get raped until he travelled abroad and forgot about me. I thank God right now I am married with two kids, but I know so many girls are out there who this monster, Theo Ukpaa, has done this to, but can't voice out. Pls, beware of him ladies. And to his boss @officialindaikeji, you keep preaching about women empowerment, yet after you sacked this same guy cos of rape issues, you still employed him again and ignored complaints of numerous girls he has raped. It is less than 24 hours to the former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, to declare his presidential bid, media reports has it that the authorities have denied him permission to use the Abuja's Eagle Square, proposed venue of the event.According to a report by the PREMIUM TIMES, the authorities have also denied the former governor access to the Old Parade Ground, another major public arena.Kwankwaso, who defected recently from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) had announced Wednesday as the day for the event.The former governor's announcement was contained in a statement from his presidential campaign committee on Sunday.In a letter signed by Usman Raji, the facility manager of the Abuja International Conference Centre & Eagles Square, the government said the decision to deny him the Eagle Square was to avoid disruption of "work flow" at the Federal Secretariat, a major hub of civil servants. The letter was referenced in a statement by the Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation sent to PREMIUM TIMES by PRNigeria, a news agency. The detailed content of the letter, dated August 27, was published by The New Nigerian news media "We are sorry to inform you that the event can no longer hold on the said date because it is a political event and the 29th of August, 2018 happens to be a work day, as it would disrupt the usual work flow of the Federal Secretariat. "We apologise for the oversight on our part to note the date in relation to the nature of the event. We regret every inconvenience caused by this." Mr Raji said in the letter. The FCT minister, Mohammed Bello, when contacted, through his spokesperson, Abubakar Sani, declined comment. He said questions should be referred to the management of Integrated Facility Management Services Ltd,who denied Mr Kwankwaso use of the venue. The Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation in its statement, however, said it "sees the development as a handiwork of the government in power who will not see anything good in growing our fledgling democracy as no level playing field has been created to allow for viable opposition in the country. Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has no plans to Islamise Nigeria.The SGF, according to media reports, spoke at a two-day peace summit organised by the Northern chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), yesterday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.Mr. Boss Mustapha stated in his speech that the country has been a member of the Organisation of Islamic Countries, OIC, since 1969 and Sharia law has been recognised by the country's constitution since 1979.The SGF further said:"There was a dummy sold to Christians that there is a plan to Islamise Nigeria. If there is truly an Islamic agenda, why is there no Christianity agenda? "We first had an observer status in 1969; that's how we first got there (OIC). In 1986, under IBB, was when we graduated from observer status to active full membership. "By that, we became full members with voting rights and had the right to be voted into office." The SGF also touched the issue of Islamic Bank, where he pointed out that it was initiated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2005 and not Buhari's administration. "Obasanjo took the decision because of the benefits that would be accrued to the country in his best of judgment as the leader. Mrs Theresa May, British Prime Minister, on Tuesday, noted that Nigeria has the highest number of poor people in the world.The Prime Minister disclosed this in a statement while observing that Africa was home to a majority of the world's fragile states, and a quarter of the world's displaced people.Mrs May while speaking in Cape Town, South Africa, said 87 million Nigerians were living below the poverty line of $1 and 90 cents per day.The British Prime Minister said,"Much of Nigeria is thriving, with many individuals enjoying the fruits of a resurgent economy, yet 87 million Nigerians live below $1 and 90 cents a day, making it home to more very poor people than any other nation in the world." She noted that achieving inclusive growth was a major challenge across the world. Speaking further, she stressed that Africa needs to create 50,000 new jobs per day to keep employment rate at its current levels till 2035. "I am unashamed about the need to ensure that our aid program works for the UK. "Today I am committing that our development spending will not only combat extreme poverty but at the same time tackle global challenges and support our own national interest. "It is in the world's interest to see that those jobs are created, to tackle the causes and symptoms of extremism and instability, to deal with migration flows and to encourage clean growth," she stated. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, has reacted to a statement credited to President Donald Trump of the United States, that Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari was 'Lifeless'.Fani Kayode, in an article titled "a Word for the Lifeless One" wrote;The greatest threat to national security and the national interest is a President that cannot appreciate the sanctity of the rule of law and the sacrosanct nature of the constitution.If this rhetoric of national interest and national security being more important than the rule of law continues it will have grave, disastrous and cataclysmic consequences for our country. It will lead to strong resistance, subversion of the state, conflict, war and the disintegration of Nigeria.This is because we are not prepared to live in or accept the imposition of a totalitarian police state where dissent, opposition, free speech, human rights and civil liberties have no place.This is Nigeria where freedom flourishes and where democracy thrives and not Saudi Arabia or North Korea where it is dead. Martin Luther King said "if you are not prepared to die for something then you are not fit to live for anything". He said "If we are wrong, justice is a lie and love has no meaning". Every Nigerian was born free: we will not allow anyone, including a lifeless President, to turn us into slaves. The only things that we have asked for and are insisting on are the preservation of our liberty and cherished values, the right to an unhindered and unencumbered life and the establishment of an equitable, multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-religious modern and plural nation-state in which there are no masters and servants and in which every man, woman and child is regarded as being equal and having equal opportunities regardless of his or her faith, ethnic nationality and circumstance of birth. We insist on the establishment of a nation in which we are free to make our own choices and in which our respect, pride, sense of self-worth and dignity are guaranteed and preserved. Anything less than that is unacceptable. We hear the threats and boastful words of those that are in authority today, that control the levers of power and that man the organs of state. We see and acknowledge their awesome power to crush, kill, maim, jail and destroy those of us that they hate and that they consider to be their enemies and adversaries yet we are not intimidated and we harbour no fear. We refuse to bow and tremble before them or to bend the knee. We refuse to be cowered or to be silenced. Instead we challenge them do their very worse because we serve an awesome God whose name is the Ancient of Days and the Lord of Hosts, who is mighty in battle. We defy them and laugh them to scorn because the things that we have asked for are worth fighting and, if necessary, dying for. We would rather live as free man for a single day than live as slaves for one thousand years. And make no mistake about it: we are not alone. We are the voices of the voiceless and the servants of truth: when we speak, we speak for millions. When we are killed, locked away or declared missing in action, in the name of the Living God, others will rise and continue the noble struggle and glorious fight. We cannot be deterred, we cannot be defeated, we cannot be subdued and we cannot be overwhelmed. Ultimately, in the name of God the Great and He who holds the universe together by the power of His word, you will fall and we shall prevail. An 11 years old girl has narrated her ordeal with a 54 years old man, who had lured her to have canal knowledge of her by fondling her breast.Read full story below as shared by PM Express Newspaper:A 54-year old man, Mr. Felix Irobuta Idehen, a.k.a. Alaye – a transporter who resided at Fadeyi, Lagos, has been arrested by Police Officers from Onipanu Division for defiling an 11-year old a primary school girl in Shomolu area of Lagos.Idehen was said to have lured the girl to have canal knowledge of her by fondling with her breasts, the victim became confused and he forcefully penetrated her severally in their compound when her parents were not around.It was gathered that the case was reported to Child Protection Network (CPN) Coordinator of Shomolu, Comrade Toyin Okanlawon by Human Development Initiative (HDI) Iwaya, Yaba, Lagos.The suspect was arrested but he denied the allegation. The victim then narrated how her pant was forcefully removed by Felix after he fondled her breasts and had s*x with her. The girl further revealed that the defilement started two years ago when she was 9-year old. She explained that the suspect, Idehen, had penetrated her severally and almost turned her to a s*x toy. She also revealed that the last time Idehen had canal knowledge of her were on 19 and 23 August, 2018 respectively and that he had three rounds of s*x. The girl said that she was warned not to inform anyone about the s*x romps which the suspect always started by fondling her breasts and overpowering her whenever no one was around. The victim was given a medical paper for further investigations at Mirabel Centre in LASUTH while the suspect was being interrogated by Onipanu Police Division before case was transferred to Gender Unit of the Police Command. When P.M.Express contacted the Gender Section of the Command in charge of the investigations, the IPO declined to make any comment on the matter. Abubakar, made the revelation at the 2018 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, yesterday.The former Military leader stated that the genesis of Africa's political problems was "the action of its sit-tight leaders, who amend the constitution in order to perpetuate themselves.""These leaders have the tendency to manipulate very vital democratic organs, particularly the legislature and, sometimes, the judiciary, to suppress any dissenting voice."Despite all these, Africa is now harvesting an influx of leaders and politicians. The young people who are emerging are more educated and internationally exposed than the current old leaders we have all over Africa. "And these young men and women are trying to make their marks. However, as you know, they are hampered by the high cost of electioneering in developing countries and, indeed, the world," he said. General Abubakar, delivered a keynote address on "Political transitions in Africa: Lessons to learn." Very early on, I teamed up with some well-meaning non-partisan stakeholders and elder statesmen to engage the key contestants and party leaders with a view to forestalling such a scenario. "Under the auspices of a peace initiative, we brokered an agreement with leading contestants, in form of a Memorandum of Understanding, for them to accept the outcome of the elections, preach cordiality in relations and conduct peaceful campaigns. "It is gratifying to note that, courtesy of our humble effort and the goodwill extended to it by the contestants and the Nigerian public, the 2015 national elections were conducted peacefully." "To his eternal credit, the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, who lost the polls had the magnanimity to concede defeat and congratulate the candidate of the opposition party.
