Atiku Lambaste Buhari Over Travel Ban

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 05:05 PM PDT

Atiku and Buhari

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate, Sunday lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for banning fifty (50) prominent Nigerians from travelling outside the country.

In a statement obtained by Thecable, issued on his behalf by his campaign organization, Atiku averred that the ban was 'a throwback to Buhari's evil Decree Number Two of 1984 which criminalised truth telling if it did not please Buhari, proving that dictators can grow old, but they can't grow into democrats.'

Few days ago, the Federal Government of Nigeria, placed travel ban on some Nigerians, but the former aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode, former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri and other legal practitioners have frowned at the order given by Buhari.

Citing the 1999 constitution and its provisions on the right to free movement, Atiku  said, "The Nigerian Constitution guarantees every Nigerian citizen freedom of movement and freedom of association. This Constitutional right cannot be taken away except by a court order". Part of the statement reads thus:

"We must be unequivocal in saying that we abhor any act of criminality, financially or otherwise, but the rule of law must be our guide at all times or society will descend to anarchy.

"Thus, we find it most undemocratic that in a nation governed by the rule of law, a President who swore an oath to abide by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, does this.

"The Nigerian Constitution guarantees every Nigerian citizen freedom of movement and freedom of association. This Constitutional right cannot be taken away except by a court order.

"This sudden dictatorial act is a throwback to Buhari's evil Decree Number Two of 1984 which criminalised truth telling if it did not please Buhari, proving that dictators can grow old, but they can't grow into democrats.

"It is precisely this type of draconian orders that have chased investors away from Nigeria and it is precisely why Nigerians will chase this recession friendly government away from power on February 16, 2019, so we can begin the job of Getting Nigeria Working Again."

Governor Ayo Fayose

There was serious emotions at the Ekiti State Government House on Sunday as outgoing Governor Ayo Fayose wept profusely while vacating the state's number-one seat.

The out going Governor shed tears shortly after attending a thanksgiving service to mark the end of his tenure held at the Government House chapel.

The governor betrayed emotion as he made for his official vehicle on his way to catching a flight at the Akure Airport, Daily Post reports.

He was believed to be on his way to Abuja in readiness for an appearance at the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC).

As the thanksgiving service ended at about 11.00 am, tears had welled up in the eyes of the governor who sauntered towards his Lexus SUV.

His wife, Feyisetan, who sensed that her husband was weeping, moved closer to him and consoled him.

The outgoing first lady was heard saying "please take heart, please take heart."

After being consoled by his wife, Fayose bade farewell to few aides and other admirers who were watching the drama.

Fayose's voice was laden with emotion as he addressed the congregation.

The outgoing governor said he was leaving the state number-one seat a contented man.

Fayose said: "I'm contented, I'm happy and I say thank you. Don't be disparaged, don't worry about me, I will come back. I will rise to the glory of God. I have enjoyed uncommon grace; I will never complain but
thank God."

Mrs. Fayose assured that her husband would come back to Ekiti a triumphant man.

She said: "We are coming back, I don't know how but I have 200 per cent assurances."

In his sermon entitled, "Affliction shall not rise the second time," the Chaplain of Government House, Pastor Seyi Olusola, said a man must be ready to face affliction, if he must rise.

Olusola said: "Don't allow anything to trouble your mind, always come to God."

As he left the Government House premises, Fayose displayed a wooden board with the inscription "Ekiti Kete, thank you all and good bye."

The thanksgiving service was attended by traditional rulers led by the Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Obas and Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju and the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe.

The outgoing Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola and his wife, Janet; the Chief of Staff, Dipo Anisulowo; Head of Service, Dr. Gbenga Faseluka and the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Modupe Alade also attended the service.

2019 Presidency: See What South-East Senators Said Of Obi As Atiku’s Running Mate

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 01:44 PM PDT

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe

The South-East Senate Caucus Chairman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, on Sunday declared that the combination of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as his running mate can pull the country out of its "present horrendous predicament."

Abaribe said the ticket of Abubakar and Obi was the "finest choice available."

In a statement he personally signed, the lawmaker described Obi as an embodiment of discipline with positive attributes towards good governance, Daily Post reports.

The Senator expressed hope that PDP will emerge victorious in 2019 with the choice of Abubakar and Obi.

He further added that "The ticket of the duo of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Mr Obi represents the finest choice available and one that reflects the high pitch push by Nigerians for total economic and political reforms.

"The present hopeless situation of fear, despondency and hunger in the land, which is occasioned by a seemingly rudderless and clueless government requires experienced and steady hands in the saddle.

Of course the Atiku/Obi ticket presents that radical choice capable of pulling the country out of her present horrendous predicament."

He commended the former Vice President for picking Obi, who hails from the South-East.

Fani-Kayode Reacts To Inclusion In Buhari Corruption Travel Ban List

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 01:07 PM PDT

Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode,  former Aviation Minister under ex=President Goodluck Jonathan, says he is not shaken over the purported inclusion of his name in the list of those affected by the Buhari government's travel ban.

The former Minister's reaction was contained in a statement on Sunday.

The federal government on Saturday banned 50 Nigerians from travelling abroad over corruption cases.

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement, said Buhari had mandated the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice to implement the Executive Order 6 in full force.

He wrote: "To this end, a number of enforcement procedures are currently in place by which the Nigeria Immigration Service and other security agencies have placed no fewer than 50 high profile persons directly affected by EO6 on watch-list and restricted them from leaving the county pending the determination of their cases.

"Also, the financial transactions of these persons of interest are being monitored by the relevant agencies to ensure that the assets are not dissipated and such persons do not interfere with, nor howsoever corrupt the investigation and litigation processes.

"It is instructive to note that EO6 was specifically directed to relevant law enforcement agencies to ensure that all assets within a minimum value of N50 million or equivalent, subject to investigation or litigation are protected from dissipation by employing all available lawful means, pending the final determination of any corruption-related matter."

Reacting, Fani-Kayode said: "I could not give a damn that my name is on the list of 50 members of the opposition and prominent Nigerians that have been placed on a travel ban because nothing that Buhari does surprises me.

"I have not left Nigeria since 2008 because my passport has been with the EFCC and the courts for the last 10 years and they have refused to give it to me and allow me to travel. Those on the travel-ban list that need to travel abroad for medical attention or to see their loved ones are the ones I feel sorry for.

"For me, travel ban or no travel ban, I have no intention of leaving Nigeria anytime soon because I am one of those that will be on the forefront in the struggle to liberate our country and ensure that we get Buhari out of power in the next few months.

"By God's grace in February we will flush him and his incompetent, fascistic, mendacious, divisive, corrupt, abusive, vicious and genocidal government down the toilet and send them back to hell where they belong."

What Buhari Discussed In The Meeting With APC Reps Emerges

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 07:15 AM PDT

President Muhammadu Buhari

The details of the meeting of President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday with members of the House of Representatives on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting lasted for about one and half hours, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking to newsmen, Musa Soba, representing Soba constituency in Kaduna state, said they were summoned by the president to present their complaints arising from the conduct of the APC primaries.

He disclosed that the aggrieved members who were denied the opportunity to re-contest for their seats in 2019 general elections were over 70.

Soba revealed that they appealed to the president to use his good office to intervene in what they described as impunity exhibited by some state governors and APC leadership in the affected states to deny them tickets to contest for the election.

He lamented undue exclusion and lack of transparency in the primaries conducted by the APC, and urged the president to remedy the situation before it was too late.

Hussaini Kangiwa, who also attended the meeting, allegedly accused some elders in the state of hijacking APC structure.

Kangiwa, who was an aspirant for Kebbi North Senatorial District, also accused the APC leadership in the state of nepotism in the selection of candidates for the 2019 National Assembly elections.

The lawmaker warned that the APC risked losing Kebbi to the opposition party if the president failed to intervene to right the wrongs.

2019: Prophet Olabayo Discloses What’ll Happen Between Atiku, Buhari, How Election Will End

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 06:42 AM PDT

Primate Theophilus Olabayo

Primate Theophilus Olabayo, renowned prophet and founder, Evangelical Church of Yahweh Worldwide, has revealed that God showed him how the 2019 election will end.

The Primate called on all Nigerians to gird their loins and embark on spiritual exercises to avert imminent danger ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Man of God said this while speaking to Daily Sun, and revealed that President Buhari would face the toughest challenge of his life in the election year.

He further said that God told him the election will be declared inconclusive following a serious fight between President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

Primate Olabayo said, "For the coming 2019 general elections, it will be men fighting men, and not boys fighting men because Buhari, and APC would want to use power of incumbency to influence the elections, but Atiku will not agree. They are going to fight each other, and the elections will be inconclusive.

"We are in a very serious situation that requires prayers and fasting. To avert looming crisis, Nigerians should pray and fast between November 1st and 3rd to seek the face of God.

"With prayers all things are possible. We have to pray for peace, unity and progress of our nation as 2019 elections approach. In 1993, I was the first prophet to reveal that the late MKO Abiola would win the election but that he will not be allowed to take over and that in the process there will be problems, which will lead to his death.

"Also during Yar'adua/Jonathan's time, I told Nigerians that God revealed to me that Yar'adua would die from his sickness and that Jonathan would become President in spite of stiff opposition that will come from certain quarters.

"Even during recent elections in Ekiti, and Osun, I told APC that if the party presented Dr. Kayode Fayemi that APC would win the election and it came to pass that when APC fielded Fayemi it won the polls.

"I also remember prophesying to the nation long before the last governorship election took place in Anambra state that God revealed to me that Governor Willie Obiano would win the election, and it also came to pass.

"Whenever God speaks through His own prophets it must surely come to pass. However it is quite unfortunate the way some people are going about prophesy nowadays.

"Look at how some prophets have been talking about Saraki, that he will be President, I just shake my head.

"What Nigerians don't know is that some of these politicians, especially when they are looking for certain positions they look for a prophet, and give money to such prophet, and the prophet who has been compromised will now be giving positive prophecy about the man, saying what God has not said about the man.

"These prophets will be deceiving Nigerians talking about the man who gave them money as if it is God that asked them to talk about the man.

"Saraki's father was my friend. But Saraki, the current Senate President , God didn't send me to him. I knew he would not be President contrary to what some prophets have been saying about him that he is the best material for the Presidency.

"Before the PDP's convention where Atiku Abubakar emerged as the PDP Presidential candidate, God revealed to me that Saraki and others are going nowhere, and that it is Atiku that would clinch the ticket, and I passed the message across, even this I told some members of my congregation.

"Eventually, Atiku Abubakar emerged PDP flag bearer. For God has not told me about Saraki becoming President for now, and I serve a living God who never fails.

"We need to pray against series of crises that may plunge this nation into bigger problems.

"Nigerians should get this message now. Henceforth, it is no longer going to be business as usual in the nation's political landscape."

REVEALED: This Is What Yoruba Leaders Told Obasanjo About Buhari Before He Forgave Atiku – Adebanjo

Posted: 14 Oct 2018 04:07 AM PDT

Chief Ayo Adebanjo

Chief Ayo Adebanjo, a chieftain of Afenifere, has opened up on the role played by Yoruba leaders in ensuring the reconciliation between former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Adebanjo was among notable Nigerians who accompanied Atiku to the reconciliatory meeting on Thursday.

According to Adebanjo, the apex Yoruba socio-cultural group, had earlier visited Obasanjo as a prelude to the reconciliation.

Adebanjo told Sun that the Yoruba leaders, during their visit to Obasanjo, convinced the former military leader that all those who were opposed to the return of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 must forget their personal differences and unite against his re-election.

"We explained to him that if we are all serious about fighting the tyranny and bad government of Buhari, those of us who are opposed to him must forget our personal differences and unite to get rid of him (Buhari) or else we may find ourselves to blame.

"The fight against Buhari is not a personal war; it is a fight in the interest of the nation. All the qualities that were attributed to Buhari are fake. Does he really have integrity or is a collaborator in the corruption he claims he is fighting?

"The Maina case and the SGF case happened under him. Even the one that was caught in the Ministry of Health and was sacked, Buhari reinstated him. Can he defend his actions in these cases?

"So, if we truly desire to put an end to his reign, common sense dictates that we get rid of him. If we are not united Buhari will come back. That's what we told him," Adebanjo explained.

Adebanjo further explained that the reconciliation brokered between the former president and his deputy was a sign of unity and progress for the country.

"It is an indication that Nigeria is prepared to send away tyranny. Men of goodwill are united to get rid of the autocracy we are undergoing now. No matter what our personal differences may be, the opposition to this regime must not be divided.

"If we are divided he will get over us and deal with all of us. So, common sense dictates that no matter what our personal differences may be, we must forget it and unite to get rid of this government. Buhari's return will sink this country further. All his claims in the past three years are fake, he only deceived us and we have seen the bottom line after three years.

"Atiku is the best available candidate for now. Atiku may not necessarily be the best candidate to be the next president of Nigeria, but he is the best candidate available to fight the incumbent. And since we are convinced that that is the truth, all hands must be on deck to support him to get rid of this bad regime.

"What we are passionate about is the restructuring of Nigeria, true federalism. By the time Nigeria is restructured all the differences, all areas of conflicts that we are experiencing as a nation will disappear, that is just the basis," he added.
