Huawei unveils P30 Series

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 10:12 AM PDT

Huawei P30

On Wednesday, 03 April Huawei unveiled their latest flagship smartphone series, the Huawei P30 a week after it was launched globally.

The Huawei P30 Pro packs a 40MP primary camera with a Huawei SuperSpectrum Sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 32MP front camera, an 8MP telephoto camera fitted with a SuperZoom Lens and a Huawei ToF Camera. The all-new sensor, lens arrangement, image signal processor (ISP) and neural processing unit (NPU).

The P30 on the other hand, is equipped with a Leica Triple Camera consisting of a 40MP Huawei SuperSpectrum sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. The new sensors, lens setup, image signal processor (ISP), NPU and custom image processing algorithms work together to enable professional camera features.

The Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro use a large 1/1.7-inch RYYB sensor for their primary camera. This sensor is different from other CFAs, as it replaces green pixels in the RGGB Bayer array with yellow pixels, which means both green and red light can move past the filter and reach the sensor. This improves the amount of light reaching the sensor by up to 40 percent, yielding higher photosensitivity and more intensity of colour.

The Huawei P30 has an aperture of f/1.8 with a maximum ISO of 204,800. The main camera on the Huawei P30 Pro features an even wider aperture of f/1.6 with OIS support and a maximum ISO of 409,600, achieving greater light sensitivity, better low noise capture and improved colour reproduction, even in low light conditions.

The designs and colours of the Huawei P30 series are based on the concept of nature-inspired gradient colours. In the small-notch Huawei P30 Pro, two panes of double-curved glass form an invisible barrier that extends to the mid-frame, creating a slim look with a comfortable grip. The 6.47-inch Huawei P30 Pro and 6.1-inch Huawei P30 come in Breathing Crystal, Aurora and Black. The Huawei P30 Pro is also security savvy, with its In-Screen Fingerprint sensor that provides a larger fingerprint recognition area, which speeds up the unlocking process.

Along with the Huawei P30 series, Huawei also introduced a new tablet, a notebook, and two new smartwatches at the launch.

Huawei MateBook 13 – This revolutionary 13-inch notebook has a 3:2 FullView display with 10-point multi-touch option and a screen-to-body ratio of 88 percent. It features Huawei Share 3.0, which enables easy smartphone-to-PC cross-platform smart interconnectivity. Other elements designed with young consumers in mind include the Finger Gestures Screenshot, Fingerprint Button 2.0 and Dolby Atmos.

Huawei Watch GT Active and the Huawei Watch GT Elegant – These smartwatches have an ultra-long battery life (two weeks for the Active and one week for the Elegant) and use an innovative dual-chipset and smart power-saving architecture that enables them to switch between performance and efficiency modes The Huawei Watch GT can be used for continuous 24-hour heart rate monitoring and supports a range of indoor and outdoor fitness activities, including triathlon mode. They also scientifically monitor a user's sleep quality and identify typical sleep issues.

Huawei M5 lite – This 10.1-inch 1080P Full HD Display tablet has powerful quad speakers with an audio system tuned by Harman Kardon to deliver professional theatre quality sound and immersive entertainment. It comes with the M-Pen lite stylus, which has 2,048 layers of pressure sensitivity, so users can jot down notes or mark up an email easily and accurately. Its Children's Corner feature includes parental control and five enhanced eye-comfort modes to protect your child's eyesight, such as smart reminders when the M5 lite is less than 25cm from your child's face.

i-pay changes to Ozow and offers zero processing fees

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:56 AM PDT

Thomas Paays
If you've done any kind of online shopping in South Africa, you're more than likely to be familiar with the name i-Pay. Not only do they make electronic funds transfers (EFTs) smoother and safer, they also singlehandedly saved 2018 Black Friday shoppers when all other payment solutions couldn't meet demands.

Now they've taken the next step by rebranding to Ozow and becoming the first local payment processor to offer zero processing fees to emerging businesses, NGOs, and NPOs accepting automated EFTs for payments or donations through its gateway.

Startups, youth-run businesses and SMMEs of all kinds processing under R1 million in online transactions monthly can enjoy zero processing fees for the first 12 months, enabling them to be part of the digital economy by providing a world-class online payment option to consumers. All qualifying charitable organisations will also enjoy zero transaction fees for as long as they accept payments through Ozow.
Ozow believes that free access to payment mechanisms in South Africa is beneficial to both business owners and consumers, also significantly contributing to the country's economy.

"By zero-rating the costs of accepting this form of payment, we are presenting more entrepreneurs the option of establishing their own businesses, which means more opportunity for financial autonomy, job creation, a competitive retail environment, consumer choice and an entrepreneurial, diverse economy," says Ozow CEO, Thomas Pays.

Industry researcher World Wide Worx forecasts that between 2018 and 2020, local online retail sales will more than double from sales tracked in 2016, reaching almost R20-billion. Already online retail is projected at about 1.4% of total retail in South Africa, based on an estimated R1-trillion spent via traditional channels in 2018.

"Attracting as many potential customers as possible to an online store or physical store is critical, and our research confirms that the selection of payment choices has a marked impact on retailers' completed sales. Any merchant offering alternative payment option such as automated EFT payments opens themselves up to more potential customers, it's that simple," says Pays.

Payment by Ozow automated EFT is available to anyone with access to online banking. Online or in person purchases can be completed with credit, savings, or cheque accounts, even with access bond accounts if that is the consumer's or business's preference.

Online banking logins are generally easier to recall once off than lengthy card details. This makes automated EFT an easier, faster, and trusted payment option for online shoppers. Ozow's launch comes with the release of a new, enhanced payment flow that emphasises user experience, and enhanced security.

"An intuitive, well-designed payments page with prominent security information reassures consumers and increases merchant credibility. The result is fewer abandoned carts for the merchant, and more comfort with shopping generally which benefits all retailers," says Pays.

Pays' anticipates that merchants and consumers will increasingly recognise the advantages of automated EFT payments.

"EFTs are reliable, quick, and completely trusted and secure," he says. "Our merchants have reported that consumers are embracing them over more traditional methods such as credit or debit cards, particularly during busy shopping periods."

In its almost five years of operation, the company has invested considerably in technology and system enhancements, building a hyper-available platform that boasts the ability to process thousands of transactions concurrently with negligible downtime and no reported incidences of fraud to date.

Commenting on the shift from i-Pay to Ozow, Pays says that the company's ambitions of expanding into Africa prompted the rebrand.

"We established that competitors with the same name already trade in some countries we wish to enter. We're taking years of industry-leading experience, innovation and technology into Africa and so we required a unique, distinctive identity to match," he says.

Ozow is already available in Namibia, with plans to expand to Mauritius and Ghana by the end of 2019, and additional countries including Nigeria and Kenya in 2020. Pays says that the change marks a pinnacle in the company's journey and its readiness to meet the challenges of the future.

"As technology and the digital economy evolves, we need to keep leading innovation," says Pays. "We look forward to sharing new services and innovations with local and African merchants and consumers, sustaining the reputation of our world-class, inclusive instant payment solution."

How to pay with Ozow

  • Choose Ozow as the payment option during checkout.
  • Select your bank from the list.
  • Login to the Ozow portal using your internet banking username, pin and/or password.
  • Select the account you wish to pay from. If you only have one account, it is automatically selected, skipping this step.
  • The automated process will navigate and populate the relevant fields on your behalf in the background.
  • Your bank will send payment authentication in-app, or via SMS or USSD Push notification.
  • Once you have successfully authorised your payment, the transaction is marked as complete.
  • Ozow sends payment notification to the merchant so they start processing your order immediately. There is no need to send through a proof of payment and no need to wait for the funds to reflect in the merchant's bank account.

Pastor Kingsley Emeka Mokwunye Of Winners Chapel In Sex Scandal, Defiled An Underage Girl

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 07:25 AM PDT

A pastor has been accused a 17-year old girl of introducing her to alcohol and repeatedly having canal knowledge of her even in her father's house.

The victim whose name was withheld by the police, speaking in tears, revealed that the resident Pastor of the Amagba branch of the Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners Chapel, Pastor Kingsley Emeka Mokwunye, started an affair with her last year September, shortly after she finished her secondary education.

Below is her story:
"He used to call me to advise me to stay away from boys, to live a good life and always respect my parents. I took it like he was my own father that I could trust and tell him anything I want to say.

"That was how he started calling me, talking to me till it got to a time he told me that he likes me. I took it as a normal thing. He started taking advantage of me. He tells me I do not know what he is doing for me. He started showing me things I have not seen before and took me to places I have never been to. That was how it started. He was the first person to show me how condom looked like. He taught me how to take alcohol. He told me not to tell my parents. He said they will understand what he is doing. He slept with me many times including our house when my parents are not at home.

"Thinking about the thing has affected me educationally. I could not read. The whole thing was disturbing me. When I told his wife, she said I was lying and told me to come to their house and repeat it before her husband. I want Pastor Kingsley to go to jail. I was always shocked anytime I am in church and see him preaching. I was afraid of telling my mother what was happening".

Her father, Mr Paul Obidah, who serves as a board chairman of the church branch, said he was shocked that a Pastor he trusted so much could do such an evil thing to his only daughter. He said

"I have been in the church for the past 27 years. I started the church in Kaduna State. Abioye led me to Christ. I have been in Kaduna all these years. It got to a time. I decided to relocate home. We have been in Bénin serving God with our heart. Many pastors have come to the branch and go. I see the pastors as Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith. There was a day Pastor Kingsley came to my house, I could smell alcohol from his breath.

"One day, his wife came and said she wants to see our daughter. I left her to discuss. I heard my daughter telling her she has something to tell her. The next day, the woman came and told me she has seized her husband's phone because of the calls her husband was making to my daughter. I just said maybe it was a family friend matter. She said he went to pick my daughter at school, I said maybe he bought her ice cream.

"I was sleeping when something struck me to ask my daughter what is happening. I called and asked her to open up to me. She began telling me how the Pastor used to make love to her in my own house. The different hotels he took her to. She said it was a burden to her. She said she does not know what the pastor gave to her. This is a Pastor we trusted. We talked and do everything as a family. I didn't know he has been doing this nonsense in my house. This is a girl that does not go out. She has been in"

Nigerian cinema celebrated by CinemaCon for Emerging Market Award in Las Vegas

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:33 AM PDT

Nigerian cinema celebrated by CinemaCon for Emerging Market Award in Las Vegas

On April 1st 2019, The Official Convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), CinemaCon recognized the Nigerian movie industry with the Emerging Market Award at Ceasar's Palace, Las Vegas, U.S.A.

The award was presented to CEO of The Filmhouse Group, Kene Okwuosa and MD, FilmOne Production and Distribution, Moses Babatope.

This award comes as no surprise as the 2010s spelled growth for the cinema culture with various cinema brands popping up to create competition in the space for already established players. At this time, thanks to globalization, the concept of cinema viewing had become popular, and it was ripe for a company serious about bringing the movie-going experience to the masses emerged. At this point record-breaking revenues in the amount of N1.72trillion (2013) was being reported with the industry valued at N853.9billion (third in the world after the United States and India).

Nollywood was responsible for 1.4% of Nigeria's economy. In 2013, FilmHouse decided to take on the challenge of entering the market to expand the cinema industry to a wider population. Today, far from the middle and upper class activity cinema-going used to be, with 44 cinemas across the country (up 29% increase from 2017), serving an estimated population of 190 million Nigerians – though not yet saturated, the growth of this culture and incidentally the industry connected to it is undeniable.

FilmHouse, dedicated to opening as many branches as time and space would permit even with 23% of the 180 screens already enjoys a 39% market share, signaling room for even more growth provided the right investments and marketing efforts are made to expand the industry. With their presence attracting distribution deals with foreign big names like 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros Pictures, as well as Empire Entertainment (South Africa), the marriage between Nollywood native content and Hollywood international offerings has created just the right ecosystem for a flourishing global cinema culture. There are also many thanks to be given to the presence of improved recording equipment and better-trained filmmakers in the industry.

From a financial perspective, it appears the cinema culture has been very useful in combating the effects of piracy to an extent for filmmakers. In 2018 alone, FilmOne recorded a Gross Box Office in-flow of N2.8billion with over 2.7million ticket admissions. By the time you add the income of other cinema houses, the Gross Box Office earnings jumps up to N5.5billion (up 23% from 2017). From Nollywood alone, N1.4billion of this gross figure was realized, FilmOne as the biggest production house holding a 92% share of the local content cinema market in what some might refer to as a monopoly. For interested investors in this sector, after accounting for sales of items like popcorn, hotdogs and drinks, a staggering revenue of N20.3billion was declared by FilmHouse, a first for any company in the industry.

These strides have not happened without international recognition. From the willingness of Netflix to pour in billions of dollars into the industry over the next five years, to CinemaCon (largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners from around the world) recognizing the Nigerian cinema market on April 1st 2019 with the Emerging Market Award, an honor not even the Bollywood rival is yet to enjoy, the tide is still very much on the rise. This is what you would expect when in 2018 alone West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia) recorded the highest Gross Box Office earning and more titles than ever earned over N300, N200, and N100million respectively.

Moses Babatope (Managing Director, FilmOne) and Kene Okwusa (CEO Filmhouse) both expressed their gratitude to be selected as industry leaders to receive the CinemaCon award on behalf of the Nigerian film industry. They have expressed optimism for growth as well as appreciation for stakeholders that have made the journey so far possible. The world continues to look to Africa and by extension, the industry leader, Nigeria, for fresh content; and the Nigerian market remains open for investment – foreign and domestic, to build in capacity. Are we in a second golden age for the Nigerian movie industry where cinema takes the lead? As the saying goes, men lie, women lie, but numbers don't. All eyes are watching, the industry and the screens.

What you don't know about Ted Bundy’s Ex-Girlfriend, Liz Kendall?

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:27 AM PDT

Netflix (finally) announced it will release the highly-anticipated Ted Bundy movie , Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile starring Zac Efron , on May 3.

What you don't know about Ted Bundy's Ex-Girlfriend, Liz Kendall?
Zac has already gotten a ton of attention (and Oscar buzz) over his portrayal of the infamous serial killer, but he isn't the only big name in the film. Golden Globe-nominated actress Lily Collins plays Ted Bundy's girlfriend Liz Kendall.

Oh, and the film is told through her perspective, which makes Liz a pretty big deal. But wait, who is she-and where the heck is she now? Here's everything you need to know about Liz Kendall:

Her real name is Elizabeth Kloepfer.
Yup, the name that made Ted Bundy's girlfriend famous in her own right is actually a pseudonym she chose when she wrote her memoir, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy. It's unknown why she chose to write under Elizabeth "Liz" Kendall, but if you had to guess, it was probably to keep her and her family safe from potential physical danger from anyone who, oh I don't know, might be seeking revenge for Bundy's crimes.

Elizabeth Kloepfer

Speaking of family, she has a daughter.
And no, Ted Bundy is not the father. Kloepfer had her daughter Tina long before she met Bundy with her ex-husband who was also a convicted felon. Apparently, she only found out about his criminal record after they tied the knot, per Oxygen . The marriage didn't last long, and they were divorced by the time Tina turned three. Then, Kloepfer moved to Seattle for a fresh start and eventually met Bundy.

Though Bundy wasn't Tina's biological father, he did live with her and Koepfler for many years and reportedly was a father figure to her.

Kloepfer met Bundy at a bar on September 26, 1969.
The single mother first met the serial killer on a night out at Sandpiper Tavern with her friend, Marylynne Chino. "I've never forgotten this," Chino told KUTV . "I walked in, and across the room, I saw Ted [Bundy] for the first time. I will never forget the look on his face, it wasn't evil but he was staring, nursing a beer."

In Kloepfer's book, she writes that she was trying to get away from a creepy guy at the bar (been there) when she saw Bundy sitting alone. She decided to approach him and, thinking he looked sad, said, "You look like your best friend just died." The two had an instant connection, and the night ended with Bundy spending a platonic night at her house. That chance encounter set the foundation for the next six tumultuous years of their romantic relationship.

She was very dependent on Bundy.
When Liz met Ted (wow, what a twisted rom-com that would be), she was a divorced single mother who, despite working as a secretary at the University of Washington School of Medicine, wanted someone to take care of her. "I handed Ted my life and said, 'Here. Take care of me,'" she recalled in her memoir, per Biography . "He did in a lot of ways, but I became more and more dependent upon him. When I felt his love, I was on top of the world; when I felt nothing from Ted, I felt that I was nothing."

According to her book, the couple would be getting along, and then, before Kloepfer knew it, a door would slam. "I'd spend hours trying to figure out what I had done or said that was wrong. And then, suddenly, he would be warm and loving again and I would feel needed and cared for," she wrote. (And you thought the dude who ghosted you last week was bad.)

Wanna learn more about Elizabeth Kloepfer's role in the new Ted Bundy film? Check this out:

Kloepfer came from a wealthy and religious family.
She was the daughter of a prominent Utah doctor, and her parents were pretty conservative. So much so, that when they came to visit Kloepfer-who was living with Bundy-in 1970, she asked him to move all his stuff out so her parents wouldn't find out.

Ironically, the couple had just gone to the courthouse and bought a marriage license before Kloepfer's parents were scheduled to visit, and when she asked him to move his stuff out, Bundy got so angry, he tore up the license. "If you're that hung up on what your parents think, then you're not ready to get married," he said to her, according to book.

She eventually became suspicious of Bundy.
In 1974, about five years into their relationship, Kloepfer started to get suspicious of her boyfriend after seeing news reports on the murders and rapes of two women in the Seattle area. Apparently, witnesses mentioned the name "Ted" and a Volkswagen, not unlike the one Bundy drove. Still, love makes you do crazy things, so Kloepfer was reluctant to believe that her BF was, ya know, a cold-blooded killer.

According to Biography, Kloepfer questioned Bundy about some of his strange behaviors, like leaving a meat cleaver on his desk, having a surgical glove in his coat pocket, or driving hundreds of miles to Colorado one night to "de-stress from work," but every time, he used his intelligence and charm to convince her everything was normal.

Still, Kloepfer tried to turn Bundy into the police.
In Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, a docuseries also on Netflix, Kloepfer finally became so suspicious of Bundy that she went to the police and told them he was the murderer. Besides Bundy's strange behavior, Kloepfer was tipped off after finding a bowl of women's underwear, a bunch of bandages and casts that Ted would wear to pretend to be injured to lure in victims, and a knife in his car, according to Oxygen. Turns out, that wasn't enough evidence to connect Bundy to the crimes, so her tip didn't really matter in the end.

Despite her suspicions, Kloepfer stayed with Bundy and never told him she'd attempted to turn him in.

But not before almost becoming one of his victims.
Four years later, in 1978 and from a prison cell in Florida, Bundy called Koepfler and said he'd once tried to kill her by closing off the chimney in their home and lighting the fire so the smoke would slowly poison her.

"I remembered that night well," she later wrote in her book. "My eyes were running, and I was coughing. I jumped out of bed and threw open the nearest window and stuck my head out. After I had recovered some, I opened all the windows and the doors and broke up the fire the best I could. I had gotten on Ted the next day for not coming back with the fan." Just wow.

She kept dating him, tho.
Kloepfer continued dating Bundy after she tried to turn him into the police and he admitted to almost killing her. They even stayed in contact when he was on death row. Oh, and at some point, their sex life became disturbing, according to Cosmopolitan .

Kloepfer finally cut ties with Bundy in 1980.
Though their romantic relationship had ended some time before, Kloepfer officially cut off contact with Bundy that year. Soon after, he married Carole Ann Boone. (Two years later, she gave birth to a daughter, Rose, who is believed to be Bundy's only child.)

A year after their separation, Kloepfer published her book, chronicling her struggle to understand how the "warm and loving" man she knew could be the same man who committed so many vicious murders. I pray for Ted, but I am sickened by him," she said.

Since then, she's kept a pretty low profile.
Today, not much is known about Kloepfer besides her life with Bundy. But what is known about her is that she has battled alcoholism (which she also dealt with pre-Bundy), struggled to forge close relationships, and relied heavily on her faith. "My spiritual growth is extremely important to me now. I try to live my life according to God's will," she wrote in her book.

On all accounts, that was the last time she publicly addressed her relationship with Bundy or her life in general. She has not given any new interviews since the book was released and has retreated from public life. As far as anyone knows, she may have even legally changed her name to maintain her privacy and move on with her life permanently.

Still, that may change when Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile premieres on May 3. Since the film is told from her perspective, she and/or her family may speak out about it. Stranger things have certainly happened.

Winter is coming and we can't wait. Last night, the premiere of the highly-anticipated final season of Game of Thrones held in New York and we've got all the style from the red carpet.

Game of Thrones is arguably one of the most popular television shows in TV history, amassing a legion of loyal fans who have followed the antics of Jon Snow and co for 8 faithful seasons.

As the show prepares to debut it's explosive finale and fans wait on tenterhooks to find out what becomes of their favourite characters, we whet our appetite with pictures from the star-studded premiere.

The final season will air on HBO just two weeks from now however, the cast of the fantasy epic got to celebrate together during the premiere of the last season held in Radio City Music Hall in New York on Wednesday night.

Sansa Stark

Sansa Stark is the eldest daughter of Eddard Stark of Winterfell and his wife Catelyn. At the beginning of the show, Sansa is lives a rather sheltered life and is naive to a lot of what is happening around her. As the show progresses and she and her family suffer from various betrayals, she becomes more hardened and transforms into a more powerful character.

Sansa Stark is played by the incredible Sophie Turner, a British actress who is engaged to Joe Jonas. Though Sansa is a wild redhead on the show, in real life, Sophie is an ice cold blonde and dyes her hair for the show.

Leading the charge on the red carpet was Sophie looked amazing in a corset-style Louis Vuitton design which had a racy zipper design down the middle of her torso.

English rose Sophie, arguably one of the biggest stars of the show, looked every inch the star she has grown into wearing the black and silver dress which had a beautiful design stars and sequins all over the bodice. She paired the stylish dress with a pair of glitzy art deco style diamond earrings which glinted out from under her wavy blonde tresses.

Sophie finished off the look with a dramatic smokey eye look and natural makeup which showed off her stunning bone structure.

Arya Stark

Arya Stark is the third child of Eddard Stark and Catelyn Stark. After escaping the persecution of House Stark by House Lannister, Arya is trained as a Faceless Man and uses her deadly new skills to exact revenge on those who have betrayed her family. Throughout the series, Arya becomes one of the most- feared assassins.

Arya Stark is played by British actress Maisie Williams who has received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the youthful avenger.

Rocking up to the premiere with playful purple hair, Maisie paired her fun hair with a glittering black tiered Miu Miu gown. The ruffles of her spectacular dress were embellished with handmade beads. The top of the dress, much like Sophie's , had structured bodice which added a dose of sexiness to her look by flashing some flesh with the cutout design and thin straps.

Maisie finished off the look with a feminine bow that perched on top of her purple up-do and and accesorised with stacked rings that gave her look that extra bit of edge.

Brienne of Tarth

Brienne Tarth is a warrior of House Tarth, vassals to House Baratheon, and the only daughter of Lord Selwyn Tarth. She is extraordinarily tall and muscular for a woman by Westeros standards and due to her size and nature, Brienne grew up to be skilled in weaponry and dreams of becoming a knight.

Brienne is played by Gwendoline Christie, an English model and actress, who stands at a whopping 6 ft 3in in real life. Gwendoline Christie looked absolutely ethereal in a water-colour dress from iconic designer Iris van Herpen. The dress was an enchanting swirl of faded hues in purple, pink, brown and gold and allowed Gwendoline to make a very dramatic entrance to the premiere. Striking a pose on the red carpet, she fanned out her sleeves to reveal wings of delicate fabric.

Gwendoline finished off the out of this world look with her platinum blonde bob styled in loose waves and kept her makeup natural and glowing. We love it!

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen, fondly known as the Mother of Dragons, the paternal aunt of Jon Snow, and the youngest child of King Aerys II Targaryen and Queen Rhaella Targaryen. Daenerys is played by the stunning Emilia Clarke who transforms from a brunette beauty into the platinum blonde Lady of Dragonstone for the show.

Emilia Clarke brought the drama to the red carpet in a tulle dress in a stormy blue/grey hue. Her dress is by Valentino and is from their Autumn/Winter '19 collection. In a quirky addition to an otherwise classic evening look, the dress had the phrase 'Leave your door open for me. I might sleepwalk into your arms' emblazoned across the front.

Emilia paired her dress with vampish dark hair and a dramatic berry lip. A stark contrast to her character Daenerys and we love it!

Jon Snow

Jon Snow, born Aegon Targaryen, is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, the late Prince of Dragonstone. After he captures a wight, he presents it to the Lannisters as proof that the Army of the Dead exists and Jon pledges himself and his army to Daenerys Targaryen.

Jon Snow is played by the inimitable Kit Harrington. Kit arrived with his gorgeous wife, Rose Leslie, who played the wildling Ygritte in the smash hit show.

Harrington looked dapper in all black suit which he paired with a stylish turtleneck. The look was understated but suited the occasion and he wore his shoulder length curls slicked to the back. His other half looked fantastic a red Oscar de La Renta.

She wore the one-shouldered gown which had strategic cutouts and flashed bits of skin underneath the floral Broderie anglaise threadwork. Her dress was finished off with a modest train and Rose wore her hair in a sleek up-do.

Ladies! Here's one major reason why guys suddenly stop showing interest in you after some time

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:04 AM PDT

Too many times, women have complained about men blowing hot one day and going cold turkey the next.
Many women are all too familiar with men who sweep into the scene; showing all the interest, sending endless messages, giving compliments and following all these up with even more attention.

After all this work and effort to get attention, what then follows is a disappearance act that surpasses a magician's. After all the warmth shown in the beginning to get themselves noticed, what they do next is go cold turkey - no more calls, no more attention. Everything is brought to a sudden stop!

Of course for many women who have experienced this, it is both confusing, annoying, frustrating, tiring and just totally unexplainable.

But why exactly do men do this?

The [logical] reaction of some women is to first begin to wonder if it was something they did wrong, something really bad to piss off the man to the point that he would no longer want anything to do with them. They think and think and many times, they reach the conclusion that it could not have been something they did and the disappearance becomes even more confusing.

"If it was something I did, how can I possibly make it right when I can't even reach him," they'd wonder.

In some other cases, the guy is reachable but he's not as open as he was before. He is not as sweet, not as intense, not as dedicated and not as committed to making things work as he was once.

As a woman faced with this kind of indifference in place of the excitement and affection a man used to show in her before, the truth you need to know is that that half the time, it's not something you did.

It's all on him, not you.

This is so because, some men date for sport. In other words, they just do this for fun. They do it out of boredom. Pursuing a woman with words and efforts, wooing her, showing her interest and doing all those things that count as meaningful effort… they just do it for the fun of it.

When they get tired of the thrill [usually, after getting your complete attention and sometimes, sex], they pull out [no pun intended].

The interest either reduces till it vanishes or they ghost on you completely.

So if you are sure that it was not something you did, and he is not even giving you an opportunity to know why he suddenly stopped showing interest, then there's really nothing you could possibly do and it's about time you stopped bothering yourself about him and let him go.

If there's any other lesson to learn here, it is that time takes care of many things. When a guy begins to show interest in you, make sure to give it a reasonable amount of time before committing to too much or getting too deeply involved.

You really don't want to be moved by something that would later turn out to be a false dawn.

Simon Lalong
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, on Wednesday signed N153. 5 billion 2019 Appropriation Bill into law.

Lalong said that he would use his second term to leave a lasting legacy in Plateau, shortly after signing the budget.

"We will leave a legacy that all of us till our retirement will enjoy, but if we do not enjoy it, our children will enjoy it.

"This is the purpose and mission for Plateau in my second tenure as I will not be contesting for another term that would distract me.

"We have already drawn the Roadmap and we need all, if you play your roles, to actualize the target," he said.

The governor stated that the task of moving Plateau forward was everybody's business and not just that of the governor.

He commended the assembly members who worked diligently to ensure passage of the budget

"Peace is my priority, if we get it right we have capable hands that will move the state forward,'' Lalong declared.
Mr. Silvester Wallangko, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning said that N85.5 billion representing 55.67 per cent was for recurrent expenditure.

Wallangko stated N68 billion representing 44.33 per cent was for capital expenditure.

The commissioner explained that the budget was prepared based on the present macro-economic variables from the medium term framework and medium term sector strategy.

He added that the appropriation, tagged "Budget of Rescue and Infrastructural Growth'', was prepared to address critical socio-economic and Infrastructural deficit.

According to him, the budget will be financed from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) statutory revenue allocation and reimbursements, as well as capital receipts.

"We expected N18.4 billion from IGR, N61.7 billion from statutory revenue allocation and reimbursements, and N69.4 billion from capital receipts," he explained.

The commissioner said that budget was in deficit of N40.7 billion and could be referred to as a deficit budget.

He added that the deficit would be financed from loans, as well as internal and external sources as the need arose.

Promissory Notes: NASS approved figures sent by Executive for Delta, Taraba States, says Saraki

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 04:46 AM PDT

National Assembly
The Senate on Wednesday said the letter by President Muhammadu Buhari on his reasons for declining to endorse N90.2 billion approved by the National Assembly for Delta and Taraba States as reimbursement for projects executed on behalf of the Federal Government must have resulted from misinformation by his aides.

It noted the Presidential letter to the Senate in which President Buhari claimed that National Assembly's approval for refunds to Delta and Taraba State Governments through the issuance of Promissory Notes, for projects executed on behalf of the Federal Government, was different from what the Federal Executive Council approved and the reports in the media over the issue, were wrong and must have resulted from misinformation to the President by his aides.

The Senate in a statement by the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the Senate President, Yusuph Olaniyonu, noted that the Senate approved the exact figures for Taraba and Delta States submitted by the Executive through the Ministry of Finance as stated on page 402 of a document titled "Federal Ministry of Finance Submission of Federal Government of Nigeria Outstanding Liabilities to National Assembly, May, 2018".
It said: "The President had claimed in his letter to the National Assembly dated March 5, 2019 that "While the Federal Executive Council approved a total sum of N78, 601, 631, 430.16 as reimbursement to Delta and Taraba State Governments, the National Assembly approved N90, 236,461, 031.36, which is higher than the amount approved by the Federal Executive Council.

"The Senate would like to clarify that the breakdown which the Executive through the Ministry of Finance submitted to the National Assembly showed that the outstanding liability due to Taraba State is N22, 254,062,330.08 while that of Delta is N67, 982, 398, 701. 28 while the total for the two states is N90, 236, 461, 031. 36.

"Therefore, the National Assembly approved the figures submitted to it by the Ministry of Finance as approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for projects executed on behalf of the Federal Government. At no time did the executive forwarded the figure of N78, 601, 631, 430, 16 to us and we do not know where the President got that figure from.

"We have decided to make this clarification in order to set the records straight and disabuse the minds of the general public.  We believe the President must have been misinformed and misadvised by his aides while writing the letter he sent on this issue to the National Assembly."

The Senate attached the letters forwarded to it by the Federal Ministry of Finance on outstanding liabilities of the Federal Government.
