About 35 candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Zamfara state, were sacked by the Supreme Court judgement on Friday.The APC had what it considered a clean sweep in the state, but the apex court has now awarded the ruling party's votes to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).The cause of this massive loss by the ruling party, could be traced to internal crisis that prevented it from holding primary elections. The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Investment Programmes, SIP, Ismael Ahmed, spoke on Friday's Supreme Court ruling in the intra-party case involving Zamfara State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).According to the Supreme Court ruling, the judgement favoured the main opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), candidates in the state.The Apex Court nullified APC votes in the 2019 general elections in Zamfara, declaring that the party had no candidates.The five-member panel of justice led by Justice Tanko Mohammed, the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), in a unanimous judgement, held that the APC failed to conduct primaries in accordance with the party's rules, Daily Post reports.READ ALSO: APC, PDP Reps Set To Reach Agreement Over NASS SpeakershipIn his reaction via his Twitter handle, Ahmed gave reasons the APC lost in some states to the opposition PDP. The Kano State Government has reacted to a new court order restraining them from further actions on the controversial creation of four new Emirates, describing it as harmless and not injurious to the already created emirates.A High Court sitting in Kano, had issued a restraining order on Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Kano state governor, and seven others from carrying out any action on the creation of the emirates and installation of emirs.But the government, through Aminu Yasser, its Director General Media and Communication, said, "the order is harmless as it does concern the already existing seven created Emirate Councils, rather it was asking us to be restrain from doing anything further on the matter".Yasser continued, "already we have not any further issues left we have completed our actions with regards to the creation of the Emirates and the appointment of the Emirs and the order is saying further actions while we have no further actions we have completed everything".READ ALSO: Middle Belt, Southern Leaders Kicks As FG Is Set To Create Radio Station For HerdsmenJustice Ahmadu Tijjani Badamosi, of the high court, who presided over the matter, also directed service of the order on the respondents through a publication in Daily Trust. The order was granted on 23rd May, 2019 in the case instituted by Yusuf Nabahani (Madakin Kano), Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim (Makama Kano), Bello Abubakar (Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta) and Mukhtari Adnan (Sarkin Ban Kano). Defendants in the suit are Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, Kano State House of Assembly,Governor of Kano State, Attorney General , Kano State, Tafida Abubakar Ila, Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, Ibrahim Abubakar II and Aminu Ado Bayero. Justice A.T. Badamosi then adjourned the matter till June 3rd for hearing of the motion on substantive notice. However the government insisted that, "this order does not concern us because we have no further actions in the matter of Emirate creation as we have completed all our actions before the order". Members of the House of Representatives from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are said to be in some move to reach a common ground on the leadership of the 9th National Assembly.The move by the Reps to strike a deal between both parties was kick started with a call by the PDP on Thursday, May 23, in the House, Daily Trust reports.The leadership positions excluded the offices of speaker, deputy speaker and House leader. Some of the key committee chairmanships are to be given to the PDP by the APC in accordance to the initial agreement to foster unity and peace."This is to ensure that the PDP, the second largest party in the House, is carried along by the incoming leadership," a source said.READ ALSO: Zamfara Guber Election: APC Loses, PDP Declared Winner By Supreme CourtThe director general of the Femi Gbajabiamila campaign council, Abdulmumin Jibrin said that arrangements on the deal will be concluded in two days. "The reality is that after winning the election, it is again one House. So, we have confirmed to the PDP that we will run an inclusive House, and we have commenced negotiation to see the kind of positions to cede to the PDP members." Added to Jibrin's position, Chukwuka Onyema, the deputy minority leader and spokesman of the PDP caucus, speaking to journalist after the meeting, said: "Everybody came to tell us why they want to be speaker; what they are going to do to improve the House and the relationship among the members. "That's the whole essence of the meeting. All the candidates who appeared before us said they know they can't run the House without the minority parties, especially the PDP, against a statement credited to someone to that effect. "We don't have any preferred candidate yet; we are going to sit as a caucus, deliberate on it, analyse it and then come up with our position. I wish we could strike a deal, but no deal yet." A lawmaker of the APC was reported to had called on Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling APC, to allow the leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to seek votes of colleagues by merit. A Newly married Nigerian man has advised his fellow men to stay away from women who are less than 25 years old when they are looking for a woman to get married to. @OlaseniOladejo tweeted: "Guys, let me tell you something. Avoid girls below the age of 25 if you can. And it's nothing to do with money."   Explaining how his opinion was formed, he said: "LMAO. This is strictly from my personal experience and a few others; It usually the peak of attention period for many and will have their hearts all over the place. It also the period they'll begin to figure out what they really want. They are ready in another 2 years." Olaseni, who recently got married, added: "Let me say it again. If you are ready to marry, avoid women under the age of 25 except you are very sure and can vouch for the stability of their emotional state of mind. Don't play yourself." The panel made up of five-member of justices, in the Supreme Court on Friday, May 24, nullified all votes cast for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections in Zamfara state.In the court ruling delivered by Justice Paul Adamu Galinji, the panel said that the APC in the state did not carry out primaries according to the party regulations, Daily Trust reports.The panel therefore described that all votes cast for the APC as "wasted votes" and declared that all political parties with the second highest votes in the polls are elected to the different offices.It could be recalled that in an appeal filed by the APC, the apex court ruled against the apellant and ordered a fine of N10 million against the party.The Court of Appeal ruled: "Candidate other than the first appellant with the highest vote stand elected.
