Convener of Revolution Now, Omoyele Sowore, and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, has been released by the DSS today, December 5, 2019 in Abuja. According to a tweet by Sahara Reporters, Sowore and journalist Olawale Bakare have been released from detention. This development came on the hills of a court order of 24-hour ultimatum to the DSS for the release of Sowore and Bakare who have been in detention since August 2, 2019. On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, Sowore's mother begged President Buhari to release her son.Sahara Reporters✔ @SaharaReporters Omoyele Sowore and Bakare have been released by the SSS in compliance with the order of the Federal High Court.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for fraud, has suggested that he has a role to play in the national politics of 2023.Kalu, who is the Senate's Chief Whip smiled at reporters and said, '2023, here we come' as he was led out of the courtroom by Correctional Services officials after his sentencing, The Nation reports.He was also seen asking prison warders, "where are you taking us to?".Kalu then begged the prison warders not to handcuff him in public.The former governor, who appeared shaken, said, "Where are you taking us to now? Please don't handcuff me. I will follow you."A short while earlier, Kalu wiped tears from his eyes with a white handkerchief as Justice Mohammed Idris began reading an abridged version of the 228-page judgment. Kalu's associate, Udeogu, was sentenced to 10 years in prison while the company which was used in perpetrating the fraud, Slok Limited, was ordered to be wound up by Justice Idris Mohammed. The case began in 2007, 12 years ago, when they were first arraigned for the offences, but before a different judge. In an amended 39 counts, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) proved that they conspired and divert N7.65bn from the coffers of the Abia State.  | ||

The sentence of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment by Court has triggered reactions from Nigerians.Kalu was sentenced to 12 years in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Thursday, after being found guilty of 39 counts of N7.2 billion fraud and money laundering.The Senator and former Governor of Abia State, was charged alongside Jones Udeogo, the state Commissioner for Finance during his tenure as the Governor, Daily Post reports.Justice Mohammed Idris ruling on the matter, sentenced him to 12 years in prison.The court also ordered that Slok Nig. | John Dumelo advocates for polygamy to be legalized, says most married men have sidechicks Posted: 05 Dec 2019 02:07 AM PST  Ghanian actor-cum-politician, John Dumelo has stated that polygamy should be officially legalized in Ghana since most men have side chicks.The actor, while agitating for Ghana's marriage and ordinance law against polygamy to be repealed, explained that most married men have women they have affairs with outside their marriage, who perform the same duties as wives."Under customary law and Mohammedans law Cap 129, a man can marry more than one woman. Under the marriage Ordinace Cap 127, a man is allowed to marry only one woman.If he marries more than one, he commits bigamy. I think it's time for that to be repealed. After all most married men have side chicks and it's time elevate them to wifey status because they perform the same duties."John Dumelo also added that in the same vein, polyandry should be legalized so that women can freely marry more than one man.
