| Posted: 26 Jan 2020 11:00 PM PST  Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning … TMZ Sports has confirmed.Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.The cause of the crash is under investigation.KB is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters — Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.Kobe has recently been spotted out at NBA games with his daughter Gianna — a rising star basketball player herself. Their youngest daughter, Capri, was just born in June 2019. Kobe is widely considered one of the greatest NBA players of all time — making 18 All-Star teams during his 20 year career with the Lakers. He was a first-round pick in the 1996 draft, winning 5 NBA championships, 2 NBA Finals MVPs and he was the league MVP in '08. The Lakers famously retired both of Kobe's jerseys, number 8 and 24 … the only player in team history to receive that honor. Kobe's accomplishments stand far outside of the basketball world. | Ubi Franklin’s baby mama, Sandra reacts to Toyin Lawani’s post on ‘blocking men’ Posted: 26 Jan 2020 09:30 PM PST  Sandra Iheuwa, Ubi Franklin's 4th baby mama has reacted to Toyin Lawani's Instagram post about women blocking fathers from seeing their kids as punishment when a relationship goes bad.Recall we reported earlier that Toyin Lawani stated that women who do such can't replace a father, no matter how hard they try.Reacting to the stylist's Instagram post, Sandra Iheuwa stated that some women do not block kids from their dads. According to the businesswoman, some men just don't want to be in their child's life, have love for them, see or hold them even at birth and after birth.She further added that if the man doesn't want to be a participating parent, it's best he stays away as a child is better off that way.Sandra wrote; "Some women do not block kids from their dad, some men just don't want to be in their child's life or have love for them to even see or hold them even at birth and after birth……if the man doesn't want to be a participating parent it's best he stays where he is and stays away because at times the kids will be better off without such father…..you can't force them to parent. #truestory"   In a rejoinder comment after being told that the man may not be avoiding the child but the mother of the child who might be dramatic, she insisted that the father is avoiding the child irrespective of how the mom behaves. | Deadly coronavirus outbreak 'getting stronger', Chinese health minister says Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:23 PM PST
The Minister of Health in China has warned that the coronavirus outbreak which has already killed 56 people worldwide appears to be getting stronger by the day.Ma Xiaowei, China Health Minister, said that the virus's ability to spread was increasing and warned that officials were not clear about the risks of the virus mutating.He added that it was likely the number of cases would continue to rise and confirmed that there have been 2,057 cases of coronavirus globally, Yahoo News reports.
Xi Jinping, Chinese President, also warned the spread of a deadly new virus is accelerating.During a special government meeting on the Lunar New Year public holiday he told officials, China is facing a "grave situation". It comes as the British government warned its nationals to leave the Chinese province at the centre of the coronavirus outbreak. The Foreign Office updated its guidance to "advise against all travel to Hubei province", which has been on lockdown for several days as China seeks to contain the illness. But the guidance also added: "If you are in this area and able to leave, you should do so. This is due to the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak." It came as the number of people tested for coronavirus in the UK passed 30 – although there are still no confirmed cases.  | ||||
| Nigerians react as John Legend quietly visits Lagos to perform at an event Posted: 26 Jan 2020 06:30 AM PST  Dapper in a white suit, John Legend was present at an event in Lagos on Monday, January 20, 2020, where he performed some of his hit records.Legend made a quiet entry to Lagos on Sunday ahead of his performance at the THISDAY Awards 2020 on Monday at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre in Victoria Island.The 10 times Grammy Awards' winner was a guest of the founding Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of the THISDAY Media Group Nduka Obaigbena.It was a grand event which was to also mark the celebration of 25 years of THISDAY and the introduction of a new streaming service.Superstar model Naomi Campbell was also present at the event and took the stage alongside Obaigbena to announce the launch of the streaming service. It was his wife Chrissy Teigen who first revealed that the singer was in Nigeria. "John went to Nigeria for a couple days and I thought about going, purely to find Michael from 90 days, but...the enchilada has rendered me useless," she wrote on Twitter.
