Daddy Freeze reacts to testimony of man who came in contact with Italian man but tested negative for coronavirus after Pastor Ibiyeomie prayed for him

Posted: 19 Mar 2020 12:00 AM PDT

Daddy Freeze has reacted to the video of a Salvation Ministries member, who testified about testing negative for coronavirus after coming in contact with the Italian man who tested positive for coronavirus in Nigeria.

According to man who testified at Salvation Ministries, he and others tested negative for coronavirus after the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor David Ibiyeomie prayed for them and also made him take Holy Communon.

He also recalled how a member of the church tested negative for ebola after Pastor Ibiyeomie prayed for him.

However reacting to the testimony, Daddy Freeze stated that Africans believe that religion which is a "more lethal virus than Coronavirus," can be used to destroy the latter.

The media personality averred that saying religion can destroy coronavirus, is the equivalent of saying contracting HIV will cure syphilis. He added that the Christianity practiced in most parts of Nigeria is a full fledged religion that bears no semblance to what Christ taught.

Daddy Freeze wrote;

"Only in Africa can people believe that religion, a more potent and lethal virus than Corona, can be used to destroy Corona virus .

Saying religion can destroy Corona virus is the equivalent of saying contracting HIV will cure syphilis.

Which virus is worse, religion or Covid19? Religion and poverty go hand in hand. According to statistics, the more religious a nation; the poorer that nation.

Hunger, resulting from poverty kills more people daily than Covid19 has globally. I'm amazed that anyone can make religion a hero in this equation.

And don't even start with the 'Christianity is not a religion' BS. In my opinion, as guided by the scriptures, the Christianity practiced in most parts of Nigeria is a full fledged religion that bears no semblance to what Christ taught! ~FRZ"

Noble Igwe: AMVCA: Best dressed awards will make industry players avoid award shows

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:00 PM PDT

Blogger Noble Igwe has reacted to the best dressed awards which were given on Sunday at the just-concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA.

The awards were won by BBNaija reality TV stars, Mercy Eke (female category) and Mike Edwards (Male category).

Taking to Twitter, Noble Igwe criticized the category with claims that award shows with such might have to see their events taken over by social media personalities instead of real industry players.

"Unpopular Opinion: With the introduction of the best dressed in the awards, the real industry players are going to stay away from the awards and you'd have a room full of social media personalities. There are so many fashion events already, gather movie players", Noble Igwe tweeted.

Lisa Omorodion calls out AMVCA organizers for discriminating plus-size women

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:30 PM PDT

Actress Lisa Omorodion has cried out over what she calls the discrimination against plus-sized women at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Lisa Omorodion questioned why no plus-sized woman made the list for best-dressed celebrities on the night.

She aired her mind via an Instagram post showing her in the outift she wore to the event.

Lisa Omorodion wrote:

"The Fashion Industry creates a fantasy world of what women are supposed to wear, and sadly a lot of women struggle to fit into this. This fantasy world always excludes curvy and plus size women, even though the fashion industry continues to laud itself as democratic in the era of Social media and gender equality.

"This is even made more obvious when the best dressed lists always excludes plus size women

"It is very disheartening that in Africa, where women are naturally curvaceous,we continue to discriminate against them. At the just concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) award show, not one plus size woman made it to the best dressed list. Is style and best dressed list the preserve of only slim/ skinny women?

"We have to do better. The global Plus size Fashion Industry is worth a whopping 20billion dollars, with an annual growth rate of about twice the total clothing market. Do the math!

"That represents $20billion worth of buying power. Inclusion of all women in the fashion industry is the way forward. Only then can we say Fashion is truly democratic. To all the plus size women, you are beautiful, stylish, fabulous and worthy of every Best Dressed List #plussizematters#Amvca7#amvca2020"

Pete Edochie: Homosexuality is caused by 'Ogbanje' spirits

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 07:30 AM PDT

The Nollywood veteran gives a detailed analysis of why homosexuality is caused by the 'Ogbanje' spirit.

Pete Edochie believes that homosexuality is caused by the 'Ogbanje' spirit.

An 'Ogbanje' is a reincarnating spirit in the Igbo tradition that causes grief or pain. They're most often children that die stillborn or children that die before they're married.

The veteran actor made this known during a chat.

In the video which has now gone viral, Edochie revealed that homosexuality starts when a child reincarnates as the opposite sex and starts finding the same sex sexually attractive.

"If a child is born and that child is very sickly and the child dies and the father says this child looks like an Ogbanje and that there is a possibility that the child will come back he gives the child a mark and then buries the child," he said.

"Maybe a few years after another child is born, and the child comes out without the mark, how will you explain it? See it as reincarnation.

"A lady can get so fond of her friend and then dies, she would want to be part of that family so she can get very close to her. Instead of being born as a woman, she gets born as a man.

"But remember that the spirit that got into that pregnancy is that of a woman and now manifest as a man. When he sees a man, he is attracted to her, you know why? Because the spirit in him is a woman's spirit. Very few people can tell you this," he concluded.

Pete Edochie is a Nollywood veteran with over one hundred movies to his credit.

Over the last few months, the actor has become a social media sensation with the controversial statements credited to him.

In January 2020, the actor in a chat slammed men who knee to propose to their wives.

According to him, it is very wrong in the Igbo tradition.

Keri Hilson has a different view about the dreaded coronavirus and it is quite interesting

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 06:30 AM PDT

American singer, Keri Hilson believes electromagnetic radiation could be the reason behind the dreaded coronavirus.

The World Health Organisation has declared the coronavirus as a pandemic.

The singer took to her Twitter page on Monday, March 16, 2020, where she shared a series of tweets on her page.

According to Hilson, there is a possibility that electromagnetic radiation from the 5G networks around the globe is responsible for the coronavirus.

twitter.com
"And to be clear, I'm saying there have been lots of studies & experiments that point to the possibility that the dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation (5G) could be CAUSING the contagious virus," she tweeted.

twitter.com
"Why do you think the virus is not happening in Africa like that? Not a 5G region. There may be a few bases there, but not as prevalent as other countries. It has nothing to do w/ melanin (for those theories)...

twitter.com
"Posted the video that prompted me to look so closely into 5G on my Instagram just now...check it out & let me know your thoughts there! (too long to post here)," she concluded.

It is not clear if this new theory shared by Hilson on her Twitter page is the actual reason behind the coronavirus but one thing is for sure, her tweets have sparked off a lot of conversations on Twitter already.

Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, recorded its first and second cases of the deadly coronavirus disease between February and March 2020 respectively.

About a week ago, it was announced that the person with the second case of the virus had tested negative.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has now afflicted every continent on the planet besides Antarctica.

Nigeria has two confirmed cases of the virus, with about 100 people quarantined over possible contact with the index patient.

2020 AMVCA ended with surprising wins and snubs

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 06:00 AM PDT

Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards' 7th edition ended on Saturday night with major wins and surprising snubs.

The 7th edition of the Africa Viewers' Choice Awards ( AMVCA) saw a surprising turnout of events from the complete shut out of crowd-pleaser 'King of Boys' to the king of the night, 'Living in Bondage'.

Weeks of predictions and voting came to a rousing end on Saturday, March 11, 2020 with major surprising wins and of course, major disappointments. For one, 'God Calling', one of the biggest nominees for this year took home 2 awards out of its 11 nominations while the Ramsey Nouah directed sequel, 'Living in Bondage Breaking Free' snatched a total of 8 awards including the coveted Trail Blazer and Overall Best Movie categories.

The biggest snub of the night was 2018 blockbuster, Kemi Adetiba's 'King of Boys' with its 6 nominations and zero win.

Most of the online reaction to KOB's massive AMVCA snub rested heavily on the AMVCA's 2019 silence that left the high grossing political drama with an unequal fighting chance against some 2019 nominees. The conversations mostly sidelined the fact that the movie got nominated in predominately voting categories thereby placing its chances of winning on the nominee with a gusto for getting muddy and canvassing votes.

Another film released in 2018 and nominated for this year's award was critically acclaimed psychological thriller 'Sylvia' directed by Daniel Oriahi. Its lead actress, Zainab Balogun got nominated in the Best Actress category that turned out to be Toyin Abraham's sole win of the night.

Abraham's singular win was also one of the shocking highlights of the award night. The actress has had a remarkable 2018 and 2019 and was nominated in both Best Actress category and twice in Best Actress in a Comedy category. Surprisingly, Abraham lost her comedy category for 'Bling Lagosians' and 'Kasanova' to Funke Akindele for her performance in 'Moms at War'.

Finally, Nollywood's current rave, 'Ratnik' made one of the night's second biggest winners with 2 wins from its 7 nominations. The Sci-fi won in both the Best Art Director and Best Costume categories.
