Sanwo-Olu: Curfew May Be Imposed On Lagos State

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that there are plant to impose a curfew in the state of the cases of covid-19 continues to get worse.

He said this during a live broadcast at the State House, Marina, on Friday evening.

He said, "We are moving to the direction of curfew, but there are indices and numbers we need to see, we haven't seen that number yet to warrant a curfew.

"The disease is not a respecter of anybody. It doesn't look at class, gender or race, everybody is at risk, that is why we need to obey the rules and regulations set for ourselves."

Lagos state commissioner for health, said that the state may see up to 39,000 cases of Coronavirus, COVID-19 in a worst-case scenario.

Lagos state commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi, while speaking at a media briefing in Lagos on Friday said that the state is definitely "doing something right" as it has been able to contain and limit the spread of the Coronavirus disease.

He said with social distancing, the figure could be limited to 13,000 cases.

"Our mathematical modelling shows that the worst-case scenario is that we may see up to 39,000 cases in Lagos, but if everyone practises good social distancing, the figure will be limited to 13,000.

"If we add social distancing to active contact tracing, then we will be able to bend the curve further. The figures may seem alarming at this point, but this is just to emphasise to the Lagos community to follow instructions of the incident commander to make sure that we practice social distancing.

"Looking at the same timeframe from the introduction of the index case, you can see that Lagos State is not seen anywhere near what Spain, Italy, and Iran are showing. So, at weeks two and three of our index case, we are flat; and at week four, we have 37 cases; while at the same fourth week, Italy, Iran, and Spain had more than 20,000 cases."

18-year-old Kelvin Uzor, has been arrested for the alleged killing of his brother's identical twins for money-making ritual on March 6, 2020, in Oko Ogbele, Delta State.

The police revealed that Uzor killed the seven-year-old boys, then removed their penis, eyes, tongues and hands, which he allegedly hurriedly took to a native doctor in Anambra State.

Kelvin, however, has denied killing the twins, insisting that it was his friend one Onuwa Olisah, who killed them.

Incidentally, Onuwa's 11-year-old brother, Iweka Olisah, has also confessed to seeing his elder brother with a bloodied machete.

Kelvin said that his only crime was in attending the meeting with Onuwa and others, where they deliberated on how to carry out money making ritual. He claimed to have backed out of the devilish plan at the last minutes.

He said,

"My hope was to make money, drive big cars and build a house. I wanted to become a young chief because most of these young boys did not work as hard as I did and now they are millionaires. I'm a farmer and it requires hard work.

I was not even making enough money for myself. This was why I agreed to be part of the meeting. Onuwa convinced me that was the fastest way to become rich. He said that most of our colleagues made money through that means.

My greatest mistake was that I did not inform my family when Onuwa suggested that we should use the twins. I love those twins so much and their parents are nice.

When we were making arrangement who to use, Onuwa mentioned the twins, I cautioned him, but I didn't know he would still go ahead with his plan. I have begged my brother to hold on until police arrest Onuwa for him to know that I had nothing to do with the murder of the twins."

Since the kidnap and subsequent murder of the twins, Onuwa, who is a neighbour, has since disappeared into thin air.

Media personality Daddy Freeze has reacted to the reports that Davido's girlfriend has tested positive to coronavirus.

Davido had made this known in a statement on his IG page last night.


Reacting to the news, Freeze celebrated the singer for his transparency, then went on to pray for the couple.

He wrote;

Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, has disclosed that he has tested positive for the dreaded Covid-19.

He disclosed his status via his official Twitter handle, where he said that he is right now in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC for a someone that is not showing symptoms.

The out spoken Governor, however appeals to the people of Kaduna State to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced.

He said; "It is most important that everybody should do their utmost to stay safe, stay home and stay alive".



Meanwhile the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe is chairing a meeting of the State Standing Committee on Covid-19

Davido’s fiancee, Chioma, tests positive for Coronavirus

Singer, Davido's fiancee and mother of his son, David Jnr, Chioma, has tested positive for Coronavirus.

The singer announced this on his IG page this evening. He said their son however tested negative.

"Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we've come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March.

Unfortunately, my fiancé's results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days. I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as we control the spread of this virus! Together we can beat this!

Lovers of popular American comedy series 'Black-ish' and its spin-offs 'Grown-ish' and 'Mixed-ish' now have yet another Kenya Barris created sitcom.

The upcoming single camera sitcom is set to premiere on Netflix on April 17,2020 and stars both Barris and Rashida Jones.

Barris raised a few brows a few months back with the announcement of the family sitcom which was originally titled 'Black Excellence'. The producer was accused of struggling with colourism after he unveiled an all light skinned cast for the production.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive for coronavirus

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

"Over the last 24 hours, I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.

"I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government's response via video-conference as we fight this virus.Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives," Johnson announced on his Twitter page.

Johnson also said he's been running a temperature, has been battling a persistent cough and he'll be working from home.

A raft of political leaders and policy makers across the world have tested positive for the virus.

Johnson is the first world leader to admit that he's caught the pandemic flu.

The BBC reports that more than 11,600 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK.

According to the latest figures, 578 people who tested positive for the respiratory infection in the UK have died.

More than 93,000 people in the UK have been tested for the virus but were found not to have it.

Controversial Nigerian cross dresser, Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju aka Bobrisky says it is funny how people now solicit financial help online amid the coronavirus crisis.
