22-year-old Vulcanizer who stole his client's pant for money ritual gets arrested

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:00 AM PDT

Operatives of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested a 22-year-old vulcanizer, Dele Ope, for allegedly stealing a pant of her client for money ritual, Vanguard reports.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who revealed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested following a report by a woman (name withheld) who reported at Warewa Division of the State Police command that she discovered that her car tyre has been deflated when she wanted to go out.

She added that this necessitated the woman to invite the suspect who is a vulcaniser to fix the tyre in her house.

"After fixing the tyre and left, she discovered that her pant that was spread on a rope within the compound has been missing".

"Since the vulcaniser was the only person who came to the compound, she went round in search of him but he is nowhere to be found".

"Upon the report, the DPO Warewa Division, SP Folake Afeniforo detailed detectives to the area where the suspect was traced and arrested".

"His house was quickly searched and the woman's pant was recovered there".

"On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the pant with the intention of taking it to a herbalist for money ritual".

Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

BBN’s Gifty - Mocking babymamas is the reason why some of you don’t have kids

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:30 AM PDT

One of Big Brother Nigeria 2017 controversial housemates , Gifty Powers or simply Gifty, has taken to her social media page to berate those who make fun of single mothers (baby mamas).

According to the 2017 BBnaija star, that single attitude is the reason why most people don't have kids.

She wrote on her instastory;

The reason why the country of Nigeria is still in a mental state is that we don't think and calculate before writing and speaking.

What's this nonsense with the so called "baby mama" word. Where is it written that being a baby mama is a sin abi crime ?

I am sure some of those idiots calling their greatmama baby mama are still battling getting pregnant for their partner or probably have been confirmed "barren"..

Why not think about your current situation and leave the ones that are happy with their kids in peace.

This is the stupid reason why some of you are still battling and praying to God for kids of your own.

Give me one reason why should God give y'all kids when you don't appreciate someone else kids or their situation relating to children ?

Do you actually think God isn't watching y'al stupid mocking over those who are baby mamas?

And you expect God to listen to your prayers concerning having your own kids… my dear, na thunder go fire you dia…

Tunde Ednut has been called out on same platform after he used derogatory words to describe the mother of a Nigerian blogger.

The blogger identified as 9jafoodie accused Tunde of stealing her content without giving credit to her.

She however confronted him and asked him to give her credit but he called it bluff. She then reported the case to Instagram, which spurred them to take down the image on Tunde's page.

Tunde Ednut then took to the DM of the blogger to rain abuses on her

The blogger had to share the screenshot from the chat.

"This is so funny because on several occasions when my content has been taken by him, I have literally been in the comment like "ha uncle, you shouldn't just take content o, you should at least recognize the source". No response. Now a whole DM dedicated to me, what an honour"

Reacting to her post, other food bloggers took to her comment section to call out the singer-turned-blogger.

REVIEW: Prettyboy D-O is a blossoming 'Wildfire'

Posted: 22 Jun 2020 07:30 AM PDT

In 2018, Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez visited Pulse Nigeria just after he released his 10th body of work, 'Mr. Boombastic.' This was also in the thick of accusations leveled against him that he was 'jacking' Prettyboy D-O's style.

Whatever Prettyboy D-O currently is or isn't or whatever his artistry or music needs but doesn't have yet, it is clear that talent like his will always shine.

When asked questions on the topic, Blaqbonez said, "I don't have a problem with that... I told him that he inspires me. Before I started making progress with the Boombastic sound, I sent him music. If they say I'm trying to sound like Prettyboy D-O, that's fair... I appreciate what D-O has done, but I'm trying to recreate it in my own way."

Now, Blaqbonez might be young, but he has been around for a minute. Prettyboy D-O has also been making music for a minute, but Blaqbonez's admittance to getting inspired by D-O shows two things; the strength of his talent and brand, the attraction of his style and the depth of his talent. Prettyboy D-O is special and everybody knows that.

His brand fuses with his personality, style and artistry. While he is a blue blood, he also has the soul of shepeteri and the range to make proper lamba music. He excels either he makes music with Terry G or Santi. You might call him alte, but when you watch his energy and presence on stage, you will rethink that notion. It's called artistic density.

On June 19, 2020, he released Wildfire, his sophomore album and follow-up to critically-acclaimed debut, Everything Pretty. Your emotional response to Wildfire will depend on the time of day you play it and the mood you are in. But even in your worst mood and in your most cynical state, this album will still be a 6/10.

Wildfire is introduced to 'Waka,' a vindictive track with more damning languages than Drake's equally vindictive 'Worst Behaviour.' Built on a dancehall sound that's become his own, D-O enjoys his life wild delivering a giant round of expletives to his haters.

'Odeshi' is a Nigerian colloquialism for 'Invincible.' A song about turning bad energy into a boomerang sees D-O embody everything that makes him Nigerian. While 'Waka' is more damning, 'Odeshi' is still vindictive but in a more relaxed tone. Tim Lyre delivers one of the most creative and best verses of 2020 in Nigeria.

'Odeshi' is also a showcase of D-O's range as he raps and crafts an amazing hook. 'Mentally' brings us back down to earth with amorous tunes on a dancehall beat - this is the kind of song that requires a video with a club scene. WANI - 'the god forbid guy' doesn't perform badly, but he doesn't stand out either. Wildfire is proving a case of quality hooks so far.

The soft D-O didn't have 'the surface' for too long before D-O's verse of 'The Beast' surfaced again. On Afro-pop, he once again engages in a staredown with his haters and detractors. "Na the same energy wey you give to me, make you keep am now, when you see me…" is a quotable.

'Bulala' is usually Nigerianism for 'cane' or 'flogging.' But due to the perception of sex from the average Nigerian, 'Bulala' is a symbolism for sex. While D-O is more aggressive in his masculine haze of pheromones, Solana is softer and this gives the track balance.

Something about the beat for 'Bulala' screams incomplete though - like a melody is missing somewhere. But D-O's rap at the end is beautiful - the medley of trap/R&B/dancehall is worthy of plaudits too. 'Bulala' might have been better as a track four though, while 'Same Energy' becomes track five. This would have aided the experience.

'Wetin You Smoke' has a beautiful intro by D-O as he joins Olamide in a celebration of hedonism. The beat is very risque, but Olamide remains the master of hooks who delivers once again. 'Reality' is the most honest track on this album and it sees D-O discuss the unsavoury and savoury parts of his journey - from growing up in Port Harcourt, to living in Osapa London.

'Dey Go Hear Wehh' sees D-O back on his vindictive vibe with more aggression. It seems like the build-up from the opening two tracks and on 'Same Energy' peaked here with subtle threats of violence. The Port Harcourt men will always Harcourt - just pretend you understand the statement, don't stress me dear.

Final thoughts
D-O's depth of talent is a unique blend of delivery in rap, sung-rap and ragga that makes him unique. Even when he makes slower, more methodical music, he can't help but churn out doses of highly-charged energy. Thus, Wildfire is a defibrillator of sorts - a potpourri of jolts and experiments from an artist slowly making his way to maturation.

He's not quite there yet and that's why songs like 'Bulala' and 'Wetin You Smoke' might have weaknesses in their production and overall sound despite their potential. But then, those songs still can't help but make an impression. What D-O currently lacks is an extra round of sonic and stylistic experimentation, but this time with better A&R that knows exactly what he needs.

When D-O becomes fully formed, he will become what an OG describes as, "The hybrid of D'Banj, Burna Boy and Durella. Women love him, but he doesn't buy into that market enough. He needs to make more music for the women because women own the world."

D-O will have his moment and this writer is here for it. On Wildfire, Prettyboy D-O is a pilot on his sophomore flight, learning to steady his hands and actually enjoy being sky high - pun intended.

Nigerian Singer, Azadus speaks up about his Covid-19 ordeal, reveals how he cried with his Wife

Posted: 22 Jun 2020 06:00 AM PDT

Nigerian singer, Olalekan Fadeyi, popularly known as Azadus, speaks about the joy of being a COVID-19 survivor.

While some people still insist that the COVID-19 virus is a disease of the elite, ace singer, Olalekan Fadeyi, popularly known as Azadus, speaks to MOBOLA SADIQ about the joy of being a survivor.

How was the experience at the isolation centre?

In the isolation centre, they give us drugs in the morning and another set of drugs at night. The hospital took care of our breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll expect some negative reports about the COVID-19 treatments because you can't imagine receiving good treatment in Nigeria but God has blessed us with the governor of Lagos State who is helping with the fight. It's unbelievable that people think that I'm exaggerating about the good treatment I received. Some people don't even believe that any good can come out of this country.

How did you know that you had contracted the dreaded virus?

I was initially treating malaria for about two weeks. Afterwards my doctor advised me to go for a test since the drugs he had placed me on were not making me better. I therefore called the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and went for the (COVID-19) test. The doctors told me that the results would be ready after 72 hours but I told them I couldn't wait for that long. Physically, they saw me exhibiting all the (COVID-19) symptoms. So, I was admitted. I was coughing profusely, I coughed non-stop for like 10 minutes. I had a high temperature, body pains, diarrheal, and other symptoms associated with malaria. In fact, before I went for the test I could cough from 9pm to 6am non-stop. COVID-19 is very deadly and people with underlining health conditions are likely to pack up (die) easily.

Some people believe that the COVID-19 drugs you posted on your page are malaria drugs, is that true?

Those people saying that must be pharmacists or doctors or just ignorant people. Part of the drugs that they'll give you at the isolation centre are malaria drugs and they'll also give you some other drugs but some of those drugs, you can't get them from any pharmacy. You can only get them from isolation centres. Those drugs are very strong.

How long were you at the isolation centre?

I was at the isolation centre for a week. That is the basic number of days you'll spend at the isolation centre. However, if the doctors see that you're recuperating fast, they can now release you to go home after one week. But they would give you drugs. You would then continue your medications at home. This is not because they can't continue to take care of you but because of the number of people in critical condition that are in need of the bed spaces.

How did you self-isolate since you went home after one week?

My children were not at home with me, they were with their grandmother. My wife also did a test and she was negative.

What were your fears when you tested positive to COVID-19?

I was not scared for a second, but I was emotional at some point. I was emotional because my wife was scared and started crying because of my persistent cough. I couldn't bear it so I started crying when I saw her in that state. That was the only time that I got emotional. I knew God was going to get me out of it. She also knew that, but she's human after all.

Have you been certified free of COVID-19 now?

It's now one week that I was discharged from the hospital. When you have COVID-19, you can't hold your breath for five seconds, you'll start coughing. You won't have energy at all and won't have an appetite. So, when the doctors assessed me and saw that I was not exhibiting any of the symptoms, they told me to come back for another test but because of fear of stepping out of my house that I could be infected again, I have not gone back to do another test. The doctor asked me a lot of questions on telephone to ascertain if I was still at risk or a risk to anybody but he was satisfied with my answers. I'm certain that I'm now healed. Next week, I'll have summoned the courage to go out.

Some people have said that the cost of doing a C0VID-19 test is expensive?

That's the problem with rumours. The Lagos State Government didn't collect a dime from me. From the test, result, medications, meals which included water, were free of charge. Note that I was not drinking sachet water; it was bottled water that was given to us. Some people think I was paid by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to say this. But it's not true. You don't want to put yourself in a situation where you can personally find out if my story is true or not. But if people still disbelieve it, they can pay a visit to the isolation centres.

What's the lesson you learnt after this scary ordeal?

When I was at the centre, I noticed that the nurses and doctors who attended to me were always in a hurry to leave once they asked me questions and got answers. But when I stopped one nurse and asked her why she was in a hurry, she said she was not comfortable in her protective suit because the suit was very hot. These are people that are treating COVID-19 but not been treated well. Now, if you say you need to quickly get back to work and make money, you may put yourself at a risk. Until there's an antidote, we need to still stay and keep safe.

Reno Omokri - You don’t need a church wedding to be married. It isn’t in the scriptures

Posted: 22 Jun 2020 05:00 AM PDT

Reno Omokri has taken to his social media page to share his thoughts on White/Church Wedding.

According to the former presidential aide, Church wedding is not necessary and people should emancipate themselves from religious slavery.

Reno added that contrary to popular opinion, a pastor or prophet cannot make a marriage holy and the only persons who can do that are the parents of the couple getting married.

His tweets read ;

Someone said church wedding is necessary because pastors are God's representatives on Earth. To that man, my question is this: What are your parents? Devil's representative? No blessing on Earth is greater than parent's blessing. After God, parents

Many people are unmarried, though they are in love, because they cant afford a White Wedding and their parents and church insist on it. Emancipate yourselves from religious slavery. A White wedding has pagan, not Christian origin. You dont need it!

If not for space I would have listed every marriage in Scripture (about 14). Not a single one involved a church, temple or synagogue. None involved a pastor, priest or prophet. Isaiah only invited a fellow priest as a WITNESS, not as an OFFICIATOR!

No pastor, priest, or prophet can make your marriage holy. The only persons that can make your marriage holy are your parents. Ask any pastor to open to the verse that gives him and his church authority to marry you. He will start speaking English!

Isaiah was a prophet. When he wanted to marry, all he did was invite 2 witnesses. And immediately the lady became his wife (Isaiah 8:2-3). No ceremony. God made marriage EASY. It's humans who made it complicated. Church has no business with wedding

The power a priest/pastor has to say 'I now pronounce you man and wife', comes from man, not God. There is no Scriptural authority for that. God Himself pronounces you married once your parents consent to your union (Gen 2:24). It a family affair!

This is how God defined marriage-"a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one"-Gen 2:24

The ONLY people involved are

* A man
* A woman
* Parents

No pastor/church is involved! It's a family affair

In Europe, over the centuries, first the Roman Catholic Church then other breakaway European churches, introduced elaborate white wedding and marketed it as Christian wedding, purely for monetary reasons. White wedding is more pagan than Christian

* Wedding dress
* Cake
* Wedding ring
* Bridesmaids
* Groomsmen, &
* Bouquet

None of the above is necessary for a Christian wedding. They are all European culture. Africans were brainwashed to see White Wedding as Christians wedding. It is NOT!!!

Church has absolutely NO ROLE in a Christian wedding. Read Scripture. Marriage is purely a FAMILY AFFAIR. Parents bless it, not pastor or priest. Even the wedding Christ attended was at a HOME and He was invited as a GUEST!

A number of relationships these days are usually based on what both partners can bring to the table. However, there are still a lot of people in relationships who only love to take and are never willing to give back.

The young lady said that there are some people in relationships who love to give and she commended them for it. Toni also advised those who are on the receiving end of the gifts.

She wrote:  "Being in a relationship with someone who is naturally a 'giver' is enjoyable, but you also need to be aware of the fact that just because they give a lot and like taking care of people, doesn't mean all you should do is take. Givers like to be on the receiving end sometimes too."

Femi Kayode to gift boy N250,000, free sponsorship to University level after watching him sing

Posted: 22 Jun 2020 01:00 AM PDT

Lawyer and Ex-Minister, Femi Fani Kayode has promised to sponsor a young boy till his University level, with additional N250,000 cash.

FFK revealed this through his Twitter account @realFFK, after he watched an emotional video of the boy praising God in the Igbo dialect with a melodious voice.

He was moved to help the young boy, so he requested for contact information of the boy via Twitter.

"Again listen to him here. I simply cannot believe that this young boy has such an extraordinary voice and that he is singing such beautiful songs of praise to the Lord. Does anyone know his name and can anyone trace him? He is singing in Igbo so I assume he is in the south- east"

"…Once I can confirm his identity and reach his family I will send 250,000 to him and pay for his school fees right up until university level. I urge others to help him too. This talented, gifted and blessed child should NOT be hawking and selling things in the streets.

I wish I knew what state he comes from and who his Governor is. Such talent must not be wasted. For the first time in days I have something to smile and be happy about. Despite his circumstances this boy is still praising God in such a beautiful way.

He has brought tears of joy to my eyes. The Lord is faithful and He will never abandon or forsake this little boy that sings songs of praises to him"

Omoni Oboli – Ibidun Ighodalo wanted to help me have a baby girl

Posted: 22 Jun 2020 12:30 AM PDT

Popular Nigerian pastor, Ituah Ighodalo, lost his wife, Ibidunni-Ajayi Ighodalo to cardiac arrest while she was in Port Harcourt to erect isolation centres.

Since her death, many people have given testimonies about how Ibidunni loved to help people, especially couples who had difficulty in bearing children.

Movie producer, actress and happily married mum of three boys has revealed how she had almost concluded plans and arrangements with the late Ibidunni Ighodalo to adopt a baby girl.

Omoni Oboli who has always revealed how much she wanted a baby girl, shared screenshots of their last chats on her Instagram page moments ago.

She wrote;

"Ibidun it's been one week and I'm still heart broken. I have done everything this one week to make myself happy. I have tried not to cry everyday but it's so tough.

I hope you know how much I love you. I hope you know how special you are to me.
You wanted me to have a baby girl so bad and when I finally agreed to adopt you were excited. You promised to see me through every step of the way.

Who will help me now? Who will welcome our baby girl? At night when no one is watching, the tears flow as they are now. I started to fear again, the way I felt after my dad's passing. Your passing is too close to home and it made me wonder the purpose of it all.

I wish I could hug you just one more time. I still go through all our chats. If I could just get one more moment with you so I can hug you extra tight and tell you I love you to bits.

It's hard but we must submit to the will of God. Rest in the bosom of the Lord Ibidun. You remain forever in my heart my darling friend. I love you so much"
