| Zlatan explains why he doesn't like Ghana Posted: 10 Oct 2020 11:00 PM PDT The "Zanku" singer, who has been in Ghana for some past three days for a collaborative work with Sarkodie, Fuse ODG and other musicians, has been enjoying his stay in the country but one ingredient is missing – and he is not happy about it. Nigerian afro-pop musician Zlatan says he doesn't like Ghana, and his reason is, he is yet to have a Ghanaian girlfriend.On Wednesday, October 7, he shared studio session photos with Sarkodie and Ghanaian American comedian Michael Blackson, and gave it a caption which suggests that the fun he is having in Ghana isn't complete."I don't like Ghana only because I'm yet to have a Ghanaian girlfriend," he captioned the photo. His caption attracted a lot of comments from fans and fellow stars including Ghana's reigning 'Artiste of the Year', Kuami Eugene. The "Open Gate" hitmaker reacted to the post, saying: "If that's the case then don't like Ghana yet. Free Our Girls." In an exclusive interview with Pulse, BBN Lockdown first runner-up, Dorathy Bachor opens up about why she became emotionally detached throughout the game.The reality star had stolen hearts from the moment she stepped onto the stage to be introduced to her whole new world.Perhaps, her voluptuousness first spurred the instant love she garnered as some viewers insist. For others, her charming personality spoke volumes. One thing that stayed constant, for Dorathy, was staying relationship free throughout her stay in the house.In an interview with Pulse, Dorathy, who admits she went into the house single, speaks exclusively on managing her emotions, triangles and life after the show. "I had this confidence that I was going to go far but I wasn't 100 percent sure cause it is a game and there are twists. I had an open mind and played the game, basically", Dorathy revealed in response to emerging first runner-up this season. While opening up about herself and her stay in the house, Dorathy revealed that the show for her, was about being herself and winning the prize. This prompted her view of the show's shenanigans as distractions. All including her brief but exciting triangle with BrightO. The Dorathy versus BrightO and Wathoni triangle was once again brought to the fore when Dorathy shockingly revealed, on the show's finale, that she was attracted to him. It out that the Delta-born now shares a different feeling. "I find that funny because at that time, would I say I just said what came to me literally and I keep saying all of that happened in the show and literally went with the show. We are moving on from now basically". While insisting she never saw Laycon emerging winner of the show, she couldn't contain her excitement at his win. "He deserves it!" she exclaimed. The future might not be as Dorathy planned a few months ago, she admits being an equal winner is beyond satisfactory. So far, she reveals that there are plans to delve into acting while investing some time in growing business.  |

| Actress Chacha Eke denies claim that her marriage ended over domestic violence, says she's bipolar Posted: 10 Oct 2020 07:00 AM PDT Nigerian actress, Chacha Eke has dismissed the claims that her marriage collapsed as a result of domestic violence. The actress is currently admitted at a hospital in Delta state where she is receiving treatment.Over the weekend, Eke announced that her marriage to Austin Faani was over.In a video shared via her Instagram page late Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the movie star revealed that she is bipolar.''Five days ago I made a video saying that my marriage to Austin Faani is over and that video came with a lot of backlash from people with many insinuating that it is a clear case of domestic violence," she said. "It is not. Austin has never laid his hands on me. He has never even raised his voice at me and God in heaven knows that's the truth." "Several psychiatrists have come to assess me mentally and I have been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. Bipolar is real. Here in Africa, we tend to not know about it due to ignore or overlook it. I cannot tell you all how I have been feeling in these tiny videos I have been making but I will however show you in motion pictures soon."  Eke's statement is coming days after she released a video online where she surprisingly ended her 7-year-old marriage to Faani.  |

| Wizkid's Starboy sees 'Soco' get certified gold in Canada Posted: 10 Oct 2020 05:30 AM PDT  On October 7, 2020, news broke that 'Soco' by Nigerian superstar, Wizkid's label, Starboy has been certified Gold in Canada. The song which features Spotless, Terri and Ceeza Milli follows Davido's 'Fall' in becoming the second Nigerian song to be certified in Canada.A Gold certification in Canada is evidence that a song has moved at least 40,000 units equivalent. 'G Love' by British duo, Krept and Konan featuring Wizkid also got some good news. The song got a Silver certification in Canada for moving at least 200,000 units equivalent. | Comedian Basketmouth to produce first feature film 'Scorpio' Posted: 10 Oct 2020 04:30 AM PDT Basketmouth is set to produced his first-ever feature film, 'Scorpio', in collaboration with film distribution and production company, Filmone. The ace comedian will partner with Filmone to produce and develop the feature film.According to an announcement shared by Basketmouth via his Instagram handle, production of 'Scorpio' will kick off later on in the year ahead of its November 2021 release. It will reportedly be shot in three countries.Basketmouth also revealed that the film's lead cast and synopsis will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The upcoming production comes in the wake of the comedian's 2019 unveiling of 'Exorcism of Alu', a horror film which was to be his first feature film as a producer. Bally says the depression most times kicks in when another season of the reality show commences.The reality TV star made this known while answering questions about life after Big Brother Naija with Ndani TV."One thing I'm going to say is that it is not easy, that's number one. That's why I keep telling people before you say you want to go into Big Brother, the pressure in this thing is not for everybody," he said."I'm going to tell you that at of everybody that has gone into Big Brother, at least on an average, I might be wrong but maybe at least 60% have gone into depression. They might not be still in depression but they've gone through it one time like that when it was crazy. And that's the thing, there is so much pressure." When asked to expatiate about the mental health situation reality TV stars go through after their time in BBNaija, Bally said it starts when the auditions for another season is announced. According to him, all the temporary gifts and affection shown by fans begin to dwindle as the spotlight starts to shine on a new set of reality TV stars.  |
| 2500-year-old coffins discovered in Egypt and opened for the first time Posted: 10 Oct 2020 03:30 AM PDT What is interesting about the discoveries is that they are still in a good condition. Archaeologists have discovered 49 coffins in Egypt which are said to have dated back to 2500 years.As if that was not mindboggling enough, they look well decorated with one of them containing a body wrapped in burial cloth which was also decorated in brightly-coloured symbols when the archaeologists opened them in the full glare of newsmen.The discoveries were reportedly made in the South of Cairo in an area that was once the Saqqara burial ground. "We are very happy about this discovery," said Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. "So today is not the end of the discovery, I consider it the beginning of the big discovery."  Reports say the sarcophagi will be put on display at the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) at the Giza plateau where tourists can visit to view them. | Court sentences former university lecturer for sexually molesting a female student Posted: 10 Oct 2020 03:00 AM PDT The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Miriam Akello on Wednesday, September 30 handed down the conviction to Edward Kisuze, a registrar in the College of Computing and Information Science on the count of indecent assault. A Ugandan court has sentenced a former Makerere University Senior Administrative Assistant to a fine of Shs4m or spend two years in prison for sexually molesting a former student.He perpetrated the offence on the female student identified as Rachael Njoroge.In pronouncing the court's ruling, Miriam Akello said there was overwhelming evidence from the prosecution that proved the case of indecent assault against Kisuze, hence his conviction. He was however acquitted of attempted rape."The judgement based on evidence adduced by the prosecution. All ingredients of indecent assault were proved beyond a reasonable doubt by the prosecution witnesses. The accused is hereby sentenced to a fine of Shs4m or in default serve two years in jail," Ms. Akello said. A viral photo circulated on social media in 2018 which showed Kisuze abusing Ms. Njoroge, a former student at the faculty.  Ms. Njoroge told the court that she had gone to pick her transcript after graduation when the former registrar locked her up in his office and started assaulting her. According to prosecution, the unethical incident happened at Makerere University on April 13, 2018, when Ms. Njoroge was referred to the registrar's room to certify her transcript and pick her recommendation letter. Although she got the transcript Kisuze locked the office door as the victim was trying to look through the papers, and started molesting her sexually.  Meanwhile, Kisuze defended himself, saying Njoroge fell in his office after complaining of dizziness because she had not eaten anything since morning. He further claimed that collapsed in his office while trying to stand up, and he thought she was suffering from epilepsy, so he attempted to help her. "I was stuck; I did not know what to do but I managed to find some drinking water for her. After a few minutes, she started gaining consciousness and she asked what I was doing with her. While wailing, she picked her phone from the bag," Kisuze told the court.  He also denied being the person in the photos that Ms. Njoroge took and circulated on social media, accusing her of framing him to destroy not only his 20-year career but his marriage too.  |

The first one was when I came back from South Africa. I had plans of going to my aunt's house from the airport. At the airport, they were keeping us somewhere with security, then I heard some people wanted to beat me and I was confused.  After that, they took me to a room and at least 10 people came to say they were my mum just because they wanted to see me. When my mum finally came, I laid on the floor and it was dramatic but no one understood what I was going through. When I was about to enter the car, my mum was trying to cover me and someone was pulling my hair, it was so hard. I went into depression the week after all these happened. I had to deal with people saying I was not laughing like a celebrity, I also had to deal with been compared with others.  |
