According to Daily Trust, the victim, a driver, was kidnapped along Kankara in Katsina state while returning from Kano about two months ago.

He reportedly spent three weeks in captivity and was released after paying an undisclosed amount of money as ransom.

The newspaper quoted a member of the National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW) as saying the suspect was, however, recognised by the victim when he boarded his vehicle on his way to Kano state.

The leaders of the NURTW reportedly asked the driver to move towards Kwannawa motor park in Dange-Shuni local government area of the state, where the car was blocked by police.

The police were said to have arrested the suspect and whisked him away to their station.

While being interrogated, the suspect reportedly confessed that he belongs to a gang of kidnappers.

Paternity Scandal: Tope Alabi’s Daughter reacts

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:30 AM PST

Ayomikun Alabi, the daughter of gospel singer, Tope Alabi, has reacted to the paternity scandal rocking her family.

An online blog had earlier on Saturday, claimed that the singer prevented Ayomikun from having a relationship with her biological father, identified as one Mayegun Olaoye.

Ayomikun while reacting to the report, said that the only father she knows is her mother's husband, Soji Alabi.

In an interview with the Punch Newspaper, Ayomikun said that news was not new to her as her mother had informed her about the man who claimed to be her father.

She said, "I will always know that my father is Soji Alabi. I do not know any other person and I have never met any other man. I cannot blatantly deny him because I have heard about him but I have never had anything to do with this man before.

"My mother never blocked the avenues for us to see. My mother even tried for me to have a relationship with him. I remember when I was about 15 years old, she used to tell me about him but he never tried to reach out to me.

"I am very grateful to God for the kind of mother and father that I have. After God, my parents are next in my life," Ayomikun said.

Ayomikun also said, "I cannot bear his surname. How can I bear the surname of someone that I have never met? There is no sense in that. I do not even know his surname. How can I bear the name of someone I have never met?

"God knows my real father and everyone knows who my real father is. I did not know this man when I was in crèche, daycare, primary, secondary or during my university days. I graduated and did not get a congratulatory message; absolutely nothing from him.

"So, there is no much story to tell. It is just a story about an irresponsible father and he is trying to cut every relationship he could ever build with his so-called daughter. I genuinely do not know why he is coming out after 22 years."

Ayomikun further said that the only way she can give Olaoye a listening ear is if they meet in court and there is a judgment to that effect.

She said, "If the man wants to reach out to me to patch things up, it will be in court. I do not think that I want to patch things up with him but I know that I will definitely meet him in court if he ever wants to talk. It cannot be a civil matter because he did not make it a civil matter when he went to social media to talk.

"I have spoken to my mother about it and we are all fine. It was not something that shocked us. He is not blackmailing the family but he is an example of a very terrible father," Ayomikun said.

These are 5 top signs of fake love in a relationship

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:00 AM PST

Is the love in your relationship real, or fake?

To really know that the love in your relationship is genuine or not, here are some of the signs to look out for.

If it is, all you should do is keep growing the love, keep staying truthful to each other, keep drinking a lot of water, and just keep treating each other in all the good ways that will allow the relationship thrive further.

On the flipside, fake love is not something anyone would want to live with. Sadly, it is exactly what some people have in their relationships. If the relationship is based on anything different from a genuine willingness to see the other person flourish in every sense of the word, if it is based on something fleeting and temporary, then it is likely fake.

To really know that the love in your relationship is fake, here are some things you may want to watch out for:

1. They're emotionally distant
In a relationship, fakers have a tendency to be non-communicative. They'll provide little to no substance to what's going on in their life. They'll also make excuses why they "couldn't" communicate especially when it is a little difficult to do so.

The difference between them and someone with genuine love for you is the extra effort needed to reach out when it's not so easy.

2. Always willing to throw in the towel
Conflict happens in every relationship. It demonstrates a level of care which partner have for one another.

That said, every conflict demands a resolution. If you're the only one trying to resolve any conflict or problems that arise, it's often a telltale sign of emotional detachment and this of course, is a major sign you'll find in people who have got only fake love for you.

They really won't care whether the relationship works or fails.

3. They don't meet you halfway
Are you always the one to plan things? Check on the other person? Take responsibilities and all that? If so, what concessions, if any, is your partner making? Where's the effort on their part?

Relationship and compromise are like two peas in a pod. A lack of effort is a universal sign of disinterest – and a relationship is no different.

4. Unconcern
An authentic relationship sparks feelings of passion for each other. You'll be curious, concerned, involved, etc in all that the other person does.

Someone who continuously acts indifferent isn't engaged, likely detached, and unfit – not to mention unworthy – of a real relationship.

5. That gut feeling
Many times, when someone doesn't really love you, you will know. There's usually that sixth sense, that gut feeling in the pit of your stomach that keeps pricking you.

Add this to all the signs that you will see, and the picture is clear that this babe or that guy doesn't really love you. They're only with you because they have no option, or for the money or some other fake reason.

Be honest with yourself. Are you wasting your time? Money? Energy?
