Eniola Badmus Opens Up On Intentions To Go For BBNaija Season 6

Following the news about the Season 6 of the Big Brother Naija reality show, BBNaija, that will be coming up soon, popular Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus opens up on her intentions to be among the lucky contestants that will enter the house for the competition.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Eniola said she does not think anyone should condemn the show as watching the show is by choice and not by force.

the 44-year-old thespian added that if she gets the slimmest chance to make it to the reality show, she would not miss it for anything.

In Eniola Badmus' words, "If I were not a celebrity, I would definitely go for BBNaija season six. As a matter of fact, if there is an opportunity to go into the house at any time, I will go.

"I am not one of the people that condemn the show. I don't even think anyone should condemn it. Watching the show is by choice.

"The show is not aired on national television. It is on cable TV where one has to subscribe with money. Participating in a reality show would not be hard for me because I have being in one before.

"One advantage I have is that I attended a boarding school. I actually won the show I participated in but they have not given me the prize money till now.

"I learnt a lot of things during that reality show. The tasks challenged me and broadened my knowledge.

"I like reality shows because it is a way of co-existing with different people. It also teaches one how to deal with certain circumstances."

American rapper and Business mogul, Jay-Z, is set to release brand new album, 'The Ascension'. 'The Ascension' album is inspired by Africa, which is also the root of the revered rap artiste.

The forthcoming compilation features top Nigerian artistes, Femi Kuti and Olamide; Ghanaian wordsmith, Sarkodie; South African rapper, Nasty C; and other international musicians like Beyoncé, Rick Ross and H.E.R.

Jay-Z says 'The Ascension' is his means of connecting to his motherland, Africa, while acknowledging that he is tapping into the continent that is filled with gifted musicians.


In his words; "I've always wanted to get in touch with my roots and connect to the motherland. You know, Africa is blessed with so much talent and I felt like it was time to tap into that resource. The Ascension is not just talking or focusing on Africa but it's also about me giving back to the people, familiarizing with the culture and connecting more with the motherland."

WithinNigeria recalls that Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce, made a similar move when she dropped her recent album, "Lion King: The Gift". She featured Burna boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, and Tekno.

Burna Boy Bags Consecutive Nomination For International Male Solo Artist At 2021 BRIT Awards

Nigerian Grammy-award-winning singer, Burna Boy, has secured a back-to-back nomination in the International Male Solo Artist category of the 41st edition of the BRITs Awards.

The "Way Too Big" singer was nominated along with American singer and rapper Donald Glover, veteran music icon Bruce Springsteen, record producer Tame Impala and Canadian singer The Weeknd.

Just few weeks after carting away a Grammy award, Nigerian seasoned singer, Burna Boy has bagged a consecutive nomination for International Male Solo Artist at 2021 BRIT Awards.

Recall that last year, Burna lost the award to Tyler, The Creator, after he was nominated alongside veteran American icon Bruce Springsteen, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy, American singer and rapper Post Malone and American rapper Tyler, the Creator in the same category.

The award ceremony is usually held in February, however, due to the impact of COVID-19, it was postponed until May 11.

Don Jazzy Laments Bitterly As Burna Boy, Genevieve Refuse To Follow Back After Following Them On Social Media

The view that Nigerians do not support their own has made Mavin Records boss and producer, Michael Collins, popularly known as Don Jazzy, to lament bitterly on social media.

The 38-year-old music producer, questioned why Nigerians and Nigerian celebrities do not like following their other artists or local singers on social media but are quick to follow foreign artists.

He further stated that it seems unpatriotic and do not help our stars grow, adding that Burna Boy, Banglee, Genevieve do not follow him back on social media.
 
Sharing the video, he captioned it;

"Some will be like I don't follow Nigerian celebrities with pride sef. This following of a thing no be say we Dey pay for am o. I just feel like we can support more. Buy Nigeria grow the naira. With the numbers we have we can be having some interesting conversations globally if we get all the support we can get. I'm just saying sha. I come in peace."

Buhari Is Going Nowhere – Tacha Slams Nigerians Calling For President’s Resignation

For calling for President Mohammadu Buhari's resignation, former Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Anita Natacha Akide, also known as Tacha has taken a swipe at Nigerians.

According to the Reality Tv star,  Buhari is not going anywhere until he completes his tenure.

Sharing a video via her Twitter handle, Tacha pointed out that the only way Nigerians can fulfil their dreams of having competent leaders in positions of authority is when they get involved in the election processes which includes coming out to cast their votes during an election.
 
Tacha also slammed Nigerians who are always quick to go online to rant while taking a cue from a recently held by-election in Abia State where a small number of registered voters came out to vote.

"Nigerians forming woke but na we silly pass. So now it's Buhari must go that is currently trending.

"Everyone in Nigeria knows that Buhari is not going anywhere until he completes his tenure so what is the need really?

"There was a by-election in Abia state and out of 500,000 registered voters, only 16,000 came out to vote. That is like 3 people out of 100 people. It is as good as nothing.

"How do we keep complaining about bad governance and we do not want to get involved in governance.

"How do you get involved in governance? By seeing it as an obligation to use your voter cards to vote. The voter card is not going to vote by itself. You need to use it.

"That mindset of ours need to change. We want good governance, we need to vote in good governance." She said.

Media personality, Shade Ladipo has taken to her Instagram account to give her undying support for Chioma Rowland during this phase of being caught in the middle of Davido's drama.

She slams other women who are having a fun-filled day making a joke of their fellow woman. She addresses these sets of women as haters, losers and that they are all miserable.

Since the photos of Davido kissing American model, Mya Yafai breaks the internet with massive reactions, fans of Davido and Chioma are rooting respectively for their idol.

Recall that the DMW boss was recently accused of sleeping with the video vixen who is an ex-girlfriend to popular American female rapper, Young M.A while having fun-filled moments in St. Maarten.

A Twitter user had taken to the platform to talk about how most people who come online to argue on controversial topics are inexperienced about such situations.

"When alot of people talk about feminism, colourism etc on here, I'm always in disbelief because it's so obvious y'all don't have the range or knowledge lmao," the user wrote.

Filmmaker, Jadesola Osiberu cries out over excessive bank charges says “Nigerian banks are fraudulent”

Popular movie director, Jadesola Osiberu has cried out over the methods and strategies put in place by Nigerian banks to get returns from their customers.

Using the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) as a yardstick for her argument, the 35 years old movie boss asserted that the ATM on normal grounds is capable of ejecting Twenty thousand Naira at a time (20,000), but Nigerian banks have altered the limit to Ten thousand Naira (10,000), in order to charge more from a customer who wishes to make huge cash withdrawals.

"Nigerian Banks and their fraudulent behavior. ATMs have a capacity of N20k per withdrawal but you limit to N10k so you can charge N35 per withdrawal, on a platform that's suppose to be a low cut option for servicing your customers. Why is

Veteran actor, Pete Edochie drops bomb says, “Feminism is the cause of domestic violence”

Veteran actor, Pete Edochie is about to institute another round of debate among women as regards the issue of feminism and how it triggers domestic violence in homes.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Igbo, the 74 years old actor lamented how the African society has been negatively affected by this whole idea of feminism and how women who adopt this feminist ideology pose a big problem in their matrimonial homes.

Driving his point home, he said:

"Feminism isn't something black people are known for. Once a woman leaves her parents to meet her husband and take his surname, she is to be submissive to him. If she wasn't married, she could do whatever she wants," he said.

"Women walk and show off their behinds; it's so that men would find them. If you see such a woman and express your marriage interest, then she starts walking properly. Our women now plunge into feminism nowadays.

"They can't even keep their husbands anymore. Is that a good thing? These women are schooled, but a lot of wives now can't even cook — one thing that a woman should be good in so as to be able to keep her husband.

"My mother was not educated, but she would cook all sorts of soups, including bitter leaf, Oha, Ogbono, Okro, Egusi, Ukwa, and what have you. My father would always get back home hurriedly to eat what his wife had cooked.

"Today, our wives can't even cook anymore. Women who can't cook aren't supposed to call themselves women. And feminism is what causes women to be beaten up in marriages. You complain to a woman, and she retorts.

"It becomes unbearable, so you stretch your arm and deal her a slap. Domestic violence starts. I don't like seeing women crying because it hurts me deeply. But it is the fault of the woman herself a lot of times."

"To be honest, the understanding of women is low. I'm not a misogynist, but I've associated with them a lot, even at work. Feminism has no place in our culture. We don't worship women as the whites do," he added.

"In the west, women could join forces and accuse a male colleague of assault. The man resigns. This can't happen in our culture. As a young woman, if pedestrians don't admire you, you'd weep for fear of not being beautiful.

"I'm a strong adherent of culture. Kneeling to put a ring on a woman's hands is not our culture. Any man who does that transfers the headship of his family to that woman. Until my dad died at 96, he never knelt to propose.

"It's just like kneeling down on entering a church because there's a higher being to whom you're paying respect. Men climb trees to tap palm wine. How does it look if women do the same? Today women dictate to me.

"It wasn't like that in our days. How women talk to men nowadays isn't how we were raised. My mother was never beaten. My wife and I have been married for 52 years. I never beat her. My five married sons don't beat their wives."

David Adeleke, popularly know as Davido has been called out on social media over unpaid escort services.

The lady, Darling Nicky, took to micro blogging website, Twitter to lay her claims and she backed-up her allegations by sharing screenshots from alleged iMessage conversation with the singer.

She tweeted;

"Davido contacted me for escort services and really tried not paying me 😅 "celebrities" man.. this is exactly how you get exposed.


A friend who had worked with him referred me to him. Only after confirming with them that he paid, did I accept his invite.

I spoke to his friend who was in the room when shit went down. He and Davido contacted me the next day asking if I had friends to come with next time. I reminded his friend I was never paid."
