| Unknown gunmen disrupt Teni’s performance in Rivers State Posted: 04 Jan 2022 08:00 AM PST  Popular Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata better known as Teni narrowly escaped an alleged attempted abduction in Rivers state.The artiste was performing at a New Year show in the state when chaos and pandemonium broke out and everyone scampered to safety.Eyewitnesses say that some unknown persons tried to kidnap Teni while she was on stage performing, but her bouncers, who were armed fired some gunshots into the air. A video from the incident showed the moment the said abduction was about to occur and the crowd went into disarray, leading to a stampede. Gunshots could also be heard in the clip. WATCH VIDEO BELOW In other news, Nigerian singer, Baddy Oosha has lost his cool on social media over an undisclosed issue between him and popular Afrobeat singer, Kizz Daniel. Baddy Oosha took to his instagam page and ranted claiming he defended Kizz Daniel when a lot of people complained about him because he knows who he is but for last night, he was extremely disappointed in his actions. |
| Movie director shares hilarious experience with James Brown Posted: 04 Jan 2022 07:00 AM PST  A film director has shared his hilarious experience with popular crossdresser, James Brown a.k.a Princess of Africa.Sharing his experience via Twitter, the director identified as Deji Aderogba revealed he was in charge of directing James Brown's shoot few days ago.During the shoot, he gave James Brown an instruction on what to do and James Brown nodded in affirmation. However, after he started the shoot, James Brown shouted one of his slangs and the shoot turned to a comedy series. The film director wrote: "Bruh, I directed James Brown a few days ago – I told him what I wanted him to do and he nodded to confirm we good. Called action and next thing I heard "OMO TO DUN TO YI" – Guys, I promise you, that shit is the funniest thing ever! You need to be around him to know how funny it is".  |

| Singer Asa—How My Mother Shocked My Abusive Father When She Left Him Posted: 04 Jan 2022 02:30 AM PST  Soulful singer Bukola Elemide, profoundly called Asa, says her abusive father was angry after her mother left him in the most surprising way.Asa disclosed she had to advise her mother to divorce her father, Akin Elemide, because of his excessive abuse towards her mother, herself, and her other siblings.The 39-year-old Nigerian-French singer told Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Bounce Radio's 'BlackBox' that her father's obnoxious nature made her think all men were like him. "He's austere and disciplined. I take those, but what I'm not is the way he brought us up. He was a disciplinarian and, yes, abusive to my mum. With the kids, he overdid it to keep us straight. It was too confusing," Asa said. "You love and then hate. I found myself unsteady around him. I saw him abuse my mum. It disturbed me for years. I thought all men were like that for a while until my grandfather, who has been with his wife for 50 years said no. "I told my mum, 'hey, woman, what are you doing here? You need to leave'. I was a little girl, and she didn't listen. I thought, if this is it, I don't want to get married. Looking back, I don't think they were compatible." The 'Satan Be Gone' crooner, Asa, narrated that her father was caught by surprise when her mother left him. "He loved my music. He's proud. He would read the news and vaunt with friends. He told me one day, 'if not for the beating, you won't be this successful. It's because I disciplined you'. I was like, 'wow, what about mum?'" Asa said. "Me and my older brother, we were the experimental [siblings]. My brother got immune to the beating, but I didn't want to be touched. When my mum realised she was done was when she called us to go on a trip. "She said we were not going to come back. This was in Jos. We left dad there and came back to Lagos. He figured it out that we'd left him. It took months of planning and I was looking at mum like, 'when did you wake up?' "Dad was mad at us. He said I was in on it. He took it out on me. There were things I wish I'd told him that he failed to see. I did tell him some things and he only stuttered. It took courage. I was scared of him, even on the phone." Asa's father, a cinematographer, passed away in 2016. |
