Job Opening: Research Assistant at the Institute for Social Research (ISR)

ISR Position within the Population Studies Center:
We are seeking applications for a full-time Research Assistant position to join our diverse community of researchers. Within the Criminal Justice Administrative Records System (CJARS), you will help us build the next-generation criminal justice data infrastructure that will support evidence-based criminal justice policy-making and administration.

Responsibilities Include
  • Data Science: assist with data processing, and development/refinement of algorithms that will help to build the CJARS data infrastructure.
  • Research: support various research projects and statistical reports by conducting reviews of current research, analyzing data, and writing summaries of research findings.
  • Software Development: develop, maintain, expand, and improve automation of currently existing web scraping infrastructure.

The American Farm Bureau Federation Summer Internship Program

The American Farm Bureau Federation will offer five paid internships this summer in its Washington, DC office. The actual dates of summer internships are between mid-May and mid-August, depending on schedules. It is preferred that interns start their internship no later than June 12. The internship will last for 8-10 weeks. Interns are supervised by an Intern Coordinator in their assigned department.

Interns are responsible for their own housing.

Accounting Internship – Washington, DC
Preference is given to students completing their junior year with a major in accounting or finance. Experience and aptitude in exploring budgeting and accounting with strong Excel skills are required. Interns will assist Finance staff in preparation of the annual budget, reporting, analysis, and some general ledger work. Intern may also have an opportunity to assist with implementation of a new Travel & Expense electronic solution. Candidate should possess analytical skills, critical thinking, and be a good communicator. The skill level of the internship is ideal for undergraduate students.
